After leaving Daniel's house, Carter got into his car and started to drive home, but his mind wasn't clear. He really didn't want to see his family right now, or anyone else for that matter. He changed his route and drove to the warming house on Lake George, where he parked his car and started walking along the shoreline, looking out at the few skaters enjoying their last opportunity on the ice. Something strange was happening to him. His stomach was churning and his thoughts were cloudy, but he didn't know why. Finding one of the wooden benches scattered along the shore, Carter sat down and stared out at the lake. What had him so confused and upset? He needed to figure it out. Putting his elbows on his knees and clasping his hands together, Carter looked down at his feet and tried to concentrate. Okay, he had just experienced perhaps the most erotic, sexually-fulfilling event of his life. That, unto itself, was enough to twist his senses, but he knew that wasn't the problem. Seeing Daniel and Peter together, sharing their love for each other, was clearly the issue. “You've never really loved anyone,” Carter thought to himself. Throughout high school, and even now into his first year of college, he had enjoyed bi-sexual encounters. The guy in his dorm was great for a blow-job or other sexual fun, but there was nothing else to it. The sex was terrific with the two female students he often fucked, but they meant less to him than professional hookers. “No, it's time to be honest with yourself. Admit it, your gut is tied in knots because you actually love Daniel; truly, genuinely love him.” Carter was almost ready to throw up. It was only a few months ago before Christmas when Daniel begged him to lie, saying that he loved him, but Carter said no. “God, how I wish I could take those words back,” he muttered to himself. It wasn't just Daniel's gorgeous, young body and primal scent that drew him in. More importantly, Carter had learned to know him that summer as librarian, feeling his pain, fear and shyness. There was an intense closeness he always felt for Daniel, but fought against it becoming love. Maybe he just felt sorry for the kid. No, that certainly wasn't it. Carter actually loved someone for the first time in his life, and it was tearing him apart. Yet, this couldn't be reality. It's time to focus and be logical about things. He was four years older than Daniel. Strike one. They could now only see each other periodically. Strike two. In a way, he had pushed Daniel forward, encouraging him to find his own love. Now that he had done so with Peter, Carter realized that he had struck out. The ballgame was over. There was no going back, yet he knew that Daniel still loved him in return, but not in the same way he loved Peter. It was all too much for his mind and heart to process. For the first time since he was a child, Carter began to cry. Sitting alone on the bench as the sun drifted onto the horizon, his tears came faster, becoming sobs that tore through his body. “Get a grip on yourself, man!” he ordered, but the tears continued to flow and he wept until there were none left. Pulling himself together at last, Carter rose from the bench and walked back along the shore. Casting a final glance at Lake George, he got into his car and drove away. Daniel and Peter remained entwined on the living room floor. Totally immersed in themselves, they hadn't even noticed Carter leaving. Finally sitting up together, they looked around the room, and saw that he wasn't there. “Carter? Are you still here?” Daniel called out. There was no response, and Daniel knew that he was gone. With a heavy sigh, he sagged against Peter's chest, who tentatively put his arms around him. Daniel could feel the sudden lack of warmth and tightness so typical of Peter's grasp. He sat up and gazed deeply into his eyes. Those honey sparkles were flaming as never before. “Are you jealous?” Daniel asked quietly. There was a short pause before Peter replied with his brutal honesty. “Yes ... not at first, but now I am.” Drawing Peter's naked body tightly against his own, Daniel asked a simple question. “Why?” Holding him a bit closer, Peter tried to explain. “I just saw it now, and felt it running through my body. He's not only your boyfriend … you want him to be your lover. The sex we shared was wonderful, outrageous, mind-ripping, and I would never have any problem with that. In fact, I'd love for it to continue. But, I know that you have a love for him that I can't have. It's selfish, but I need all of your love.” Although used to his honesty, Daniel was shaken. His young mind couldn't wrap itself around the demand Peter was making, a side he had never seen before. “Do you think I can just turn off my feelings for him like a light switch?” Daniel asked, his body beginning to quake. “No, I don't expect that. Just promise me one thing, and one thing only. Never make love to him without me being part of it. After all, you're the one who told me that, if I had a boyfriend, you'd know the difference if you were there.” An eerie silence fell over them as Daniel tried to comprehend. Now desperately fearing the loss of both, he pulled his shaking body against Peter and rolled them onto the floor, Peter on top of him. He wrapped his arms and legs around him, locking him into an embrace from which neither could escape. “Do you promise?” Peter asked softly. “Yes, I do,” Daniel whispered into his ear. Peter managed to pull his face away from Daniel's neck and looked at him. He leaned down and kissed him, gently at first, then with increased passion. He wanted Daniel to be his alone. Sex was one thing, but he was possessive of his love, and unwilling to share that with anyone, not even Carter. They ground their bodies against each other, Daniel refusing to release his grip. “Peter, don't ever let me go,” he pleaded. Sensing his love, yet taking advantage of the moment, Peter held him closer as their young cocks hardened. Their skin was now slippery, coated with sweat, as the desire increased. “Fuck me, Peter. Prove how much you love me,” Daniel begged. Releasing his legs from around Peter's body, Daniel pulled them back, exposing his little ass and rosebud. Peter wasted no time, and rubbed his drooling cock against the tight opening. Sliding his hard dick into his sweet ass, he leaned down and kissed him. “I'll prove it right now,” he groaned as he began to thrust into him. Slow jabs into his lover's boiling chute became more intense, deeper, faster. Clinging to each other, Peter fucked him hard, their bodies writhing together in a torrent of lust and love combined. It was both passionate and beast-like, as if two wild animals had been unleashed to mate. “Yah, yah, yah!” Daniel grunted as Peter rammed into him. “You'll never touch him without me being there, will you?” Peter demanded as his aching cock pounded Daniel's ass. “Never … never,” he gasped, raking his fingers across Peter's back. Unable to take it any longer, Peter released into Daniel with possessive fury, shooting streams of cum into his lover. “You're mine, and no one else can have you!” he yelped, continuing to spasm and grind his body against him. Daniel's cock erupted with gushes of hot sperm, squeezed against Peter's slick belly as he mashed himself onto him. Crushed together, Peter felt Daniel once again wrap his legs and arms around him. “I'm yours, and only yours,” Daniel whispered, panting like a dog. It was two days later when Daniel was shoveling the sidewalk after a light snow and saw the car pull up. He recognized it and stopped. The driver got out and said, “morning, kiddo.” He nearly melted into the snow around him. “Hey, Carter,” he replied, not knowing what to expect. “Thought I'd just stop to say good-bye. Spring break is over and it's back to college,” he said with a faint smile. Flustered and unsure how to reply, Daniel apprehensively said, “that's very thoughtful. Is there anything else you want?” What a stupid thing to ask! He wanted to take his response back immediately, but it was already done. “Hop in, kiddo, I just want to say good-bye,” Carter said. Daniel opened the door and sat next to him in the car. The heater was working nicely, surrounding them with warm air. “Daniel, I'm going to tell you something I've never told anyone else in my life. I love you. It's that simple, but yet that complicated.” Daniel tried his best to absorb what he had just heard. Carter had said by the fireplace that he didn't … couldn't … love him, yet now he did. “You're lying to me, aren't you? It's just the sex you enjoy,” he replied, growing angry. “No, I'm not lying. I truly mean it.” Daniel's first reaction was to slap Carter's face. It was hard and meant to hurt him, and it did. Carter felt the sting, but wasn't surprised, even though it broke his heart. They sat quietly next to each other without saying a word. “I'm sorry I did that,” Daniel finally whispered. He leaned over and wrapped his arms around Carter's head and chest, cuddling into his neck. “I wanted to hear those words from the very beginning … at the library, but I never thought it could be true.” Daniel's scent and soft touch nearly overwhelmed him, but Carter followed through with the response he had prepared in his own mind. “I fought against it, Daniel, yet it actually happened. I love you, but I know that we can never see each other again. Your love for Peter is something special, and can't include me. I won't be coming back anymore, but never forget that I do love you more than anyone else in the world, and always will.” Pulling himself tightly to Carter's body as if never to let him go, Daniel knew this was the end. He kissed him deeply, then drew back and said, “Peter knows that we care about each other. He even wants to have sex with us together again. The only thing he requires is that we never touch each other without him being there. Is that too much to ask?” “Yes, it is,” Carter replied. “It's more complicated than that. Peter may understand, but he needs all of your love, and so do I, but it can't be that way. Any more sex between us will just make matters worse. I won't put you in a position to have to choose between us, and can't be part of some crazy love-triangle destined to fail.” Daniel held him closely, feeling the heart-wrenching pain of loving two people at the same time, yet knowing he had to let Carter go. They kissed each other softly, tenderly, sensuously. It was the final good-bye, and they both knew it. Reaching across him to open the door, Carter gently pushed Daniel out of the car. Their eyes met with knowing looks. “See ya, kiddo,” he said. Tears running down his cheeks, Daniel quietly replied, “see ya, Carter.” He closed the door and watched him drive away. “You promised!” he yelled. Daniel spun around to see Peter sitting on the front steps of the house, his arms and legs tightly curled against his chest. He had seen them kissing, holding each other, breaking the promise Daniel had made to him. “Liar!” Peter shouted. |
