I don't own this story, I found it online and wanted to share it. The link is:
As soon as the door was opened, Ann heard the faint sounds of carousel music in the distance. The excitement was just too much to be held in that Ann found herself crying, because she could not remember the last time she had been anywhere just to have fun and relax other than the park where she met her new friend Sarah.
As they got closer to the entrance of the park, she noticed a rainbow colored sign that read “Tantis Gardens Amusement Park”. As they entered the park, she could smell the aromas of cotton candy and foot long conies being made. She had not smelled something so wonderful in a long time. She smiled as she looked around. They then went and got Ann a little wrist band at the ticket booth.
The first thing that caught Ann’s attention was the beautifully painted carousel colors and designs. It was so detailed that the horses looked as though they were alive standing on the platform.
She pointed at the carousel. “Oh! I wanna ride on that!!” She was so excited to see a carousel that was like she remembered when she was small.
Her mommy and daddy smiled and laughed and went over to the Carousel and set Ann on the horse that she chose and mommy stood on one side and daddy on the other, holding onto their little Ann. The horses were so huge that her feet couldn’t even reach the stirrups. She laughed and giggled as the carousel went round and round. It felt amazing feeling the air in her hair as they went around and around.
When the ride was over, Ann wanted to walk a bit, so she held on tight to daddy’s hand, whose hand engulfed her own so she mainly held onto a finger or two. It was an odd thing walking but fascinating. Everyone was big there except for the others like her. There were a few other girls she saw and she rather liked their dress. Ann found herself pointing the dresses out now and then in her excitement. She almost dragged her daddy over to the gondola wheel which is a giant Farris wheel with cages on it with two seats facing each other.
“Let’s ride this please!?” Ann was smiling and squeezed his hand.
Her daddy laughed and picked her up. “Alright, sweetheart.”
They got on and Ann held on tight to mommy and daddy as she sat in between them. She was afraid of heights but she really enjoyed it anyways, for she felt safe with her new mommy and daddy. As they went up, she could see the entire park. Everything was much bigger here that it was almost unreal. She found herself just smiling every now and then up at her mommy and daddy, which they always returned the smiles. They seemed as happy as she was.
After they had gotten off the Farris wheel and they walked around, they saw a bouncy house with slides. Ann saw that and her face lit up and she jumped up and down. “Mommy, Daddy! I wanna jump on that please, please!?”
They then went over to the bouncy house and Ann, with some help from mommy, climbed inside. There were others like her inside, jumping as well. She played with some of them and laughed. She went on the slide a few times as well.
They then went to the games where Ann saw a big stuffed dog that she wished she had. “Oh what a cute doggy!”
It was a balloon dart game and the more balloons popped, the bigger the prize. The game player let Ann sit on the counter to play because she was tall enough to throw the darts well. Daddy then lifted Ann and sat her on the counter. He gave her some darts and she held them, looking determined at the balloons.
With what sort of looked like a twenty dollar bill and a little help from the game owner Ann won the dog. He helped by popping some of the balloons for her which was very sweet and made Ann smile. She was trying hard to win all the time thinking about her friend’s birthday party and what a great gift the stuffed dog would be.
They stopped for lunch and had a foot long coney, fries and soda which Ann just loved. She loved Soda a lot and drank almost all her soda. She was full and the food was so yummy. She was happier than she had ever been in a long time.
Afterwards they took turns riding the bumper cars, once with mommy and once with daddy. They laughed and had so much fun on that too!
The next thing they did was go on a train ride that went through and around the park. Ann held onto Mommy and Daddy’s hand the whole ride, talking about the things they saw. She could tell that Mommy and Daddy were having just as much fun as she was.
Ann wanted to walk again and she held onto mommy and daddy’s hand and they went to see a magic show, which was really fun and fascination.
Then they told Ann they had another surprise that she may just like. It really was something she really liked; it was a theatre show of Alice in wonderland. She just loves Alice in Wonderland and told her mommy and daddy how much she loved it and how she had always wanted a dress like Alice’s in the fairy tale.
Once the show was over, they headed back to the hotel. She had so much fun that she was sleepy when they got back that Mommy and Daddy suggested that they all take a little nap before dinner.
She lay down and yawned. “I had so much fun, Thank you mommy, thank you daddy.” She smiled at them both and laid her head on her pillow. “I love you both very much. She then fell asleep almost instantly between Mommy and Daddy.
Ann awoke to the sound of her daddy’s voice. Ann sat up and looked up at her daddy yawning and stretched and then she smiled at him.
He smiled back at her and kissed her forehead. “Hello sweetheart. Did you sleep well?”
She smiled and nodded. “Yes daddy.” It really felt good to call him daddy and she could tell that he really did care about her.
He beamed down at her and caressed her cheek, making her blush. “Are you hungry for some dinner sweetheart?”
She nodded and smiled. “Yes daddy, a little.”
He smiled as he sat on the bed and pulled her into his lap. “Well Sweetheart, you, mommy and I are going to get some dinner at a restaurant and then we will drive back home.”
She smiled and nodded.
They all checked out of the hotel and went to eat at a nice little restaurant and drove the two hours back home. Ann fell asleep in her car seat, covered by a blanket and clutching her doll. She was so sleepy that she didn’t even remember waking up when they arrived back home.
