| Introduction: Mix of a few games and a vivid imagination... tale of a rare class of elf as she goes through life... this is my first story I wrote so I am sorry if it's not very descriptive but I am improving with practice, constructive comments only please | ||

My world is confusing to explain logically, to start it all off, right back at the beginning of our race some a evil genius called Victor thought it would be a great idea to crack the differences between then sentient beings and animals. There are five sentient races in total the most common being humans but there are also Dwarfs, Elves, Sungro’s (or Sung) and Harin. To describe them all humans are humans, nothing changed over the centenary’s, Dwarfs are similar to humans but shorter and slightly stubbier due to their shortness, they counter this by being stupidly courageous and brave thinking they can win any fight and holding nothing back when fighting, they are never ones to shy away from a challenge. Elves are tall and a strive for perfection, they are most highly known for their pointed ears and general height as most females are around 6ft as males are between 7-8ft tall. Unfortunately elves believe they are better than the rest and throughout time have secluded themselves from the other races believe all their problems are beneath them. Sung are odd creatures, taking the form similar to a centaur being half horse half human but they are very protective of their people and have serious territory issues. Being over 12ft tall they tower over the other races as they try to leave in peace but are very aggressive when it comes to protection and their warriors are feared across the lands, however due to the face they already are half animal the virus doesn’t affect them. Harin are again strange creatures, they live mainly underground or in sewers of cities as they have poor eye sight and the sun blinds them, with a increased senses of smell and touch, they generally look like dwarfs but they lack the hair and their eyes and nose look much different, similar to the sung weren’t affected by the virus as they weren’t above land when the virus spread. Although similar in activity to the common mole the Harin don’t have the claws and have to rely on normal technology to build underground such as shovels. History tells us long ago Victor managed to unlocked the DNA of several animals putting them into some sort of virus which spread throughout the lands in the storm of 83, the army at the time was looking for Victor at the time and found him before he managed to create any more viruses having made seven already. It’s written that Victor was tortured for months on end to find out what he had released over the world as it quickly became apparent when babies were born. Babies were being born deformed some being excessively large, some being smaller and weaker whilst a few were even born with gills. “Ok Victor, what did you do. Babies are being born sick” the general said walking up to victor as he lay spread out on the rack, hands and feet tied apart as he chest covered with cuts and grazes from the beatings he has receive. “Not sick, improved” Victor said coughing up blood as he body tried to heal, “Explain” The general demanded shouting at him as he slapped the whip against Victor’s chest as he screamed out in pain “It’s a genetic virus, I’ve taken the best bits from the animals and made them attach to the sentient cells giving all sentient beings traits of animals” He said panting as the general stopping whipping him “Why is it only affecting babies?” The general asked again angrily “It affects everybody it’s in everybody’s genes but only changes the body when the babies unborn” Victor said again as the general walked up to him, “Tell me how it works and why you did it, and I will let you down” he offered as being tied up unmoving for months on end this was a dream come true for Victor “I wanted the world to be more diverse, not just race but differences between race. Every being has all seven animals, each animal is different and the unborn baby’s soul brings out the animal its best suited too.” Victor explained as the General set him down as he crashed to the stone floor of the castle dungeon. “For example there is Bear, Wolf, Hawk, Tortoise, Rat and Panther... If a child is born brave and strong he would gain the effects of the bear virus growing larger and stronger, if the baby is drawn to friends and teamwork then the wolf virus takes effect.” He continued as he sat down resting as he rubbed his ankles to sooth the soreness away, “And what about the gill’s?” the general said accusingly down at Victor “I never meant to release the fish virus, it was just a joke test to see if I could do it, that means one of the other seven isn’t in everybody” Victor said pondering how he made such a mistake. “Thank you Victor” the general said before leaving. It’s said that before Victor’s execution he escaped and ran back to his lab setting off the last virus but on a much smaller scale as he was being chased, they caught him just after he released the virus and beheaded him where he stood. After that the world started to adapt, although the world didn’t change the people did, they grew to accept the changes hoping for a strong baby or a tough baby as these were most favoured. The Rat people were discarded as they stole and scavenged breeding together creating more rat people as their numbers grew. The world quickly found out that it was Panther which was the last virus to be spread as it only hit one city, the elf city of Salphasis. As time went on everybody grew and got used to the changes as the wolfs made packs hoping either for more wolves or bear babies, tortoises were favourable for their long lives and immensely tough skin as these made fine warriors usually taking most the damage as they could breeze of the more fearsome attack. Hawks adapted over time as it started out as the baby’s arms being the wings but soon the arms and wings became separate as the baby would resemble that of an angel, except with feathers to match their family. Fish were the outcast of the people now, often leaving as they lived in water, moving to the ocean they worked with the councils of each city delivering messages as they could travel the water the fastest. Not much is known about the Panthers as only one person was known to become a panther and that was over 2000 years ago but everybody hopes their baby becomes it as it would mean fame and honour to you and your family. My story starts in the year 6329, although long after the virus spread the world was still the same, technology was still the same as it when it started, the dwarfs were a little more advanced making weird contraptions for various tasks as they were the first to use metal for something other than weapons and buildings. I was born August 10th 6329 in Salphasis, at birth the doctors noted my tail bone being longer and put me in with the wolf class, my father was a tortoise and my mother was a wolf, and although this would seem like inter species breeding, it worked out like normal humans as the baby’s soul decided the animal but same animal parents doubled the chances that their baby was the same as them. As I grew up, I started school with the other children as you could tell who they were by how they looked, at aged four the bears dwarfed us all as they grew to be 12ft in humans and 15ft in elf’s, but at our ages I was only 2 ft tall as the bears nearly stood at 4ft. The rats where smaller than me at around 1ft as they all stayed together sticking to the walls staying out of everybody’s way, the hawks where always fun as they tried to flap their wings getting only a few inches of the ground before falling much to the amusement of the class. I stayed with the wolves but I always felt like I never really belonged, by aged seven it was noticeable as the wolves tail grew hairs sprouted as it thickened as they started getting bigger but I stayed smaller, my tail staying growing longer but staying thin and sleek as the hairs covered my tail like fur. By age ten I had the teachers noticing as the other wolves picked on my saying as I was a pathetic wolf not growing up strong like them, the teachers had me sent home on many occasions as the bulling brought me to tears yet it couldn’t be stopped. We are taught that around a child’s twelfth birthday our bodies will change overnight as our animal bodies jump to that of a teenager to match our human bodies, it was coming up to my twelfth birthday and I was dreading it, I hated my weak wolf body as I didn’t want it to change to become weaker. At age 11 we are taught normal school which mainly involves history, science and fighting, plus the odd profession if you chose to pick it up. As expected all the bears and wolves loved fighting class as the wolves would gang up on the bears but the bears could hold their own, hawks would swoop down picking off certain people, whilst I stayed near the back avoiding most people. School was kind of fun at our twelfth birthday as somebody would drop to the floor writhing in pain as their body changed, the bears grew larger and stronger as they fattened up, the wolves would grow a slightly larger tail as they grew bigger claws and a snout as their teeth also grew. The hawks just increased in size as their wings grew and talons sharpened in growth. Like kids would the first to change dominated the rest as the others waited impatiently till it happened to them, it was just my luck to be last, more reason for them to torment me. “You’re a failure of a wolf aura” the Jake said being the leader of the school wolf pack and first to change. I said nothing just ignoring them as he would always get boisterous. 18th august 6341, eight days after my twelfth birthday and I was still the child me, but every day seemed to get worse. I hoped I would change as each day I went to school and they would tease me more for not changing over night. My teacher Mrs. Krilo an elf hawk quickly quietened down the class as we all took our seats, mine being at the back of the classes closest to the door, “Ok class, first lesson is science... So how can tell me what happens when you mix a Fire-clover leaf with copper sulphate and water” my teacher asked as she looked around the class with her hawk eyes watching everybody “It creates a Rejuvenation potion miss” Brad asked as he raised his huge paw like hand. “Very good brad, now look through your books to page 567 and match up the ingredients to the correct potion” she said turning to write something on the board. I sat there flicking through my back as I felt a weird ache in my back, “Just me sat uncomfortably” I thought to myself as I focused on my work, the ache persist through the entire lesson as It got worse throughout the day. After a short break of hiding in the playground, I regrettably had to head in for fight class, our teacher Mr. Bow was a large bear, one of the largest but teaches here after serving his time in the Elf Army, “Ok children, I think today we are going to start on weapons, you’ve trained and learnt about your animal powers but now it’s time to learn about weapons so pick up some armour and a weapon of your choice” he said loudly as the bears went to the biggest armour as they picked up the largest swords and maces. The wolves went for the smaller armour picking up either a medium sized sword or two smaller swords as they all clanged their weapons in prowess. The Hawks as always went for the bows and arrows as they always used the height to their advantage, I looked through the armour as I decided against it, as I stepped over picking up a bow feeling the weight “Look guys, Aura’s failed at being a wolf and wants to be a hawk” Jake shouted as all the other kids turned to laugh. I watched as the rats quickly picked up the small armour and a dagger as they huddled together protecting each other. “Ok Hawks, shoot the targets and wolves, bears, rats and tortoises your practice against each other” he shouted as he walked over to me, “You have to learn to fight like a wolf or you will never survive the real world” he said calmly as I looked up at him holding the bow, “Ok I will try, but one shot please” I asked looking up at him with my eyes wide trying to look sad “Ok, one shot then pick up a sword” he said standing back as the others turned to watch. I looked up at the target boards high up against the wall as they were only for the hawks that were flying around. Pulling the string back I focused my eyes aiming as I softly let go watching as the arrow shot forward hitting the bulls eye to mine and everybody’s surprise, “Do that again” Mr. Bow asked handing me another arrow as I focused again hitting the target board with millimetres of my first arrow. “Very impressive, now you had your shots go get a sword” Mr. Bow said as he took the bow off me. I watched him walk over to the door as he called for his assistant; I looked at him as I followed his mouth movements not understanding what he said as soon his assistant ran out the door. I picked up a female piece of armour as I picked up a sword, as I struggled to handle it properly much to the other kids amusement, “Come on aura, fight me” Jake said shouting as he throw a shield of the table to my feet, I picked it up looking at how to hold it as he swung his sword down smashing it out of my hands as I jumped backwards, I felt my back spasm as I fell to the floor arching my back in pain. I stood up slowly scared as the wolves surrounded me pushing me around “Stop guys” I pleaded as it fell on deaf eyes as I tripped falling to the ground crying as they kicked me on the floor. “Ok break it up” Mr. Bow shouted as the crowd split as he looked down at me bleeding from the beating “All of you step away, this is practice you’re not meant to harm each other” He shouted angrily as he helped me up. Standing to my feet my back arched again as I felt it pinch my nerves sending me crashing back down the ground, slicing my back along Mr. Bow’s claws as I went, “Boy’s get the healing kit” Mr. Bow shouted as one of the hawks swooped out door into Mr. Bow’s office. I lay on the floor bleeding as my back was never in so much pain, I didn’t know if it was my spine or the deep cuts but I lost a lot of blood. “Sir, I think she’s changing” Mike said as he pointed to my growing tail “Ok, Get an elder. We can’t heal her until the change is complete or she will be deformed” he said as he laid me on the floor on my back as blood poured from my body. A few minutes later the world started to dim as I felt tired drifting off to sleep as the last thought I saw was and elder rushing over to me from the doorway. “Step back” the elder shouted as everybody backed away, he knelt down picking up my head as I lay unconscious, “Get all her teachers in here, I want to know exactly what happened to her today” he said firmly again as two of the wolves quickly sprinted off, arriving moments later with Mrs. Krilo. “We have to try and stop the blood, whilst letting her body change” he said as he rolled my body over tearing the armour from my body revealing the 3 long cuts along my back, “get some water and towels” Mrs. Krilo said as two more wolves sprinted off “Just let her die, she’s a pathetic wolf anyway” Jake said boldly as he watched me bleed “Mrs. Krilo, Mr. Bow explain to me her day” The elder asked as they began. “She always stays at the back of the class, she’s smart but doesn’t speak up, I saw her shifting more than usual looking uncomfortable holding her spine, but that was it for my lesson” Mrs. Krilo said as she looked to Mr. Bow “Umm, she acted normal in here but mentioning the spine she did seem to walk a bit odd, the others picked up the normal equipment as expected but she picked up a bow instead” Mr. Bow said as the elder looked up at him “A bow?” he parroted confused “Yeah, shot those two arrows in the bulls eye, best shot I’ve seen in years” He said as the elder looked up, “Ok we have to save her” the elder said panicking “What’s the sudden hurry?” Mr. Bow said as the bows came back as they pressed towels onto my back, trying to stop the blood “Think about it” he said looking down “Sticks to herself, not really part of the pack, great aim and a different tail... When wolves change they get larger and stronger as they grow claws and a large snout” He said examining my body “Look here, Small snout, small claws and a long thin tail, now her spine is changing... I think she’s a panther” He said shocking himself as he spoke the words as the whole class gasped stunned in the knowledge. “Ok the bleeding has stopped, but she’s still changing” Mrs. Krilo said snapping them all from their stunned daze, “Ok, get her to the medics and tell them to heal her in the morning and to fix her up not using potions as she still changing” The elder said as Mr. Bow lifted me of the floor as I slumped in his arms. I woke up on a medic’s table as I saw my teachers and my parents surrounding me with the elder at the end looking up at me as I lay under a cloth sheet. “Where am I?” I asked grumbling as I woke up rubbing my eyes, noticing my claws I looked at them “So am I more like a wolf now?” I asked looking to me parents as they smiled down at me, “You should listen to the elder dear” My mum said as she turned to look at elder down the end, I watched as he walked around them all as he now stood over my head resting his hand on my head pushing me down, “Rest, you lost a lot of blood” he said as I relaxed thinking of before I fell asleep. “What happened?” I asked looking up at him, “You were changing, but unfortunately the beating you took plus the claws to the back when you fell.” He said smiling looking down “So am I all better now?” I asked looking up at him “Yes, we waiting till the change was over and gave you a potion as your body healed back up and your fine now, but you need to know some things” he said with a more concerned look, “What?” I asked looking worriedly “Children are placed into the wolf class because they are born with a longer tail bone than the other children, but you’re not a wolf” he said as I looked stunned at him “Your desire to be alone, your aim and your smartness as well as your tail are common traits of a cat, we believe you’re a panther” he said smiling as my jaw dropped. “Are you sure?” I asked shocked “After the change, you look nothing like a wolf so yeah were pretty sure” he said jokingly as I tried to sit up, “No, we will bring you a mirror” he said pushing me back onto the table, “So what happens now?”I asked as he started moving away, “Well, I presume the city already knows and you still need an education, but we will have to tailor your training to suite you and to find out what Panthers are good at although I think it would be bows and arrows” he said smiling as I thought back to fight class smiling to myself at my talent. Soon the all left as the nurse stepped in as she held a mirror above my body as I examined my new body, it was crazy. I was taller, but slim as I had the perfect body; my face now had a slight snout as I had larger ears and a few whiskers. My feet now had claws as did my hands as my tail was moving under me. Sitting up I checked out my arms as I stood up stumbling as the nurse went to help me “You should lie down” she said trying to help me up “No, it hurts my spine” I said crouching down onto my hand and feet as I spread me legs out until I felt my spine relax, “Ahhh that’s better” I said as I stretched my legs before staying low to the floor. “So am I perfectly healthy” I asked as she agreed looking shocked “Cat’s can jump, so let’s see” I said before jumping up onto the wall and jumping again onto the beam supporting the roof, “Ok, now this is awesome” I said as the elder stepped in looking at the nurse who was looking up watching me “Come down Aura, we need to check you out so you can go home” the elder said as I jumped down landing hands first onto the bed just like a cat as I walked around him “I see you are adapting well, you look well so I don’t see any problem in letting you go home” he said walking up the door as I followed, standing up to walk on two legs as I felt a slight tinge of the ache in my back from pushing my spine into an uncomfortable position. Still wearing the medic dress I wore from I was injured I walked out the city hospital as people stopped and stared at me. A brisk walk through the city and I was home, running up to my room I shut the door as I searched for something else to wear. Looking through I found nothing as everything was too small so I quickly rushed into my parent’s room as I searched through my mum’s clothes, I found lots of clothes to big for me and I almost gave up my search when I spotted a pair of leather trousers and the end to go with a cut leather vest. Putting them on they hugged my body tightly as they added definition to my figure, I walked around a bit getting used to them before finding out the trousers were too tight around my large muscular legs. Taking them off I used a knife to cut down the inside and outside using some black string to tie them back together with about two more inches in width as I tried them back on. The fit perfectly as I crouched down feeling the material stretch as I crawled around like a cat for a bit getting used to the feel of leather, walking out the door I climbed onto the ceiling of my roof as I looked out over the city. The next day I woke up as normal getting back into my routine as I got dressed in my new leather clothes, I sat in my bedroom scared as my mum stepped in “I see you found my old clothes” she said smiling at me “Ummm yeah sorry, none of mine fitted” I replied looking up at her “Look it’s all going to be fine, you’re a strong girl so stand up for yourself” My mum said stroking my head as I found the courage inside me to leave. “Ok see you tonight” I said walking out the door as I made my way down the stairs and out the door. Walking down the street I caught the attention of everybody as they looked at me, I was already late enough as I bent down on all fours as I sprinted off down the street into the school. I arrived at my class as the door was closed, as I quickly opened it up as the light flooded around my body as everybody turned to look at me stood in the doorway. Stepping inside I closed my door quickly taking my seat as everybody just stared at me, “It’s nice to see you so soon” Mrs. Krilo said as she then started to continue with the lesson getting back the attention of the class. I focused on my work as the class ended with a discussion on peace, “So peace, what do you think it means” Mrs. Krilo asked as we all watched her “Peace is a situation where nobody has any intentions for war” a wolf said sounding proud “Isn’t peace many things” a rat asked speaking up “Yes, but I want to know what you think of it” Mrs. Krilo asked as she looked over the class “Peace is unobtainable, basically put peace is where everybody is happy, but not everybody is every truly happy enough to class as peace there’s always some people who disagree” I said speaking up as they all turned to look at me “I understand your point, anybody else got an idea on peace” Mrs. Krilo said looking at me, we sat in silence as nobody said anything as Mrs. Krilo soon gave up and let us go for break. I quickly left the class room as I ran out the room before running into the woods and climbing up a tree, hiding up there as I watched the class file out splitting up into groups as I lay down on a branch. “Aura, you out here” said the loud voice as I looked up to see Jake looking around for me, “What do you want Jake” I said letting my arms fall giving away my position as I watched him walk up to me “Look, I wanted to say sorry for giving you a hard time. Nobody knew you were a panther” he said looking up at me “Ok, even I didn’t know so I can’t hold a grudge” I said looking down at him, “Well good, I just wanted to set things straight, anyway I want to test you in fight class, you’ve avoided most the classes and we know you can shoot arrows but you need to learn up close fighting” Jake said as I watched his eyes follow me movements. Rolling of the branch I landed of ground on my hands and feet as I slowly stood up watching as his eyes followed me “So 8 years of bullying and teasing, and now you want to help me?” I asked looking at him studying his reaction as I walked circles around him, “I feel bad and I want to make it right and I thought I could help you with the class your doing worst in” he said trying to make out he was being helpful. “Ok, I would like for you to help me, thank you. But I won’t make it easy for you” I said smiling as I walked off leaving him there. Soon Mr. Bow was calling us in as we all headed into his fight class, “Ok, gear up and practice” he said loudly as everybody rushed to get the best armour, walking up next to them I picked up a belt and a dagger before walking away much to their amazement, “Ok, Jake. Teach me” I said as he put his armour on and picked up a shield and sword, “I’m not sure how panthers fight but wolves are aggressive and overpower, so let’s practice to see how you fight” he said walking over to me as the others watched practicing half-heartedly. “Ok, you’re not large and strong, but your flexible and fast” Jake said walking up to me, “Try to disarm me and pin my down, while I resist” he said hitting his shield as I threw the dagger to the ground. They all looked at me worried as I crouched down, sprinting forward I dodged his swing before jumping over him grabbing hold of his shield pulling it off him as I flew over his head. Landing behind him he swung his sword round as I ducked down low laying only inches of the floor as once his sword passed me I reached up grabbing his wrist as I twisted it causing his hand to open dropping the sword, moments later I let go pushing him back as I pushed the sword away, he started swinging his claws at me again as I dodged them all blocking the odd swing as started moving around him. “Come on Jake” I taunted as he smirked going faster as his swipes got more powerful as he aimed for my head and chest, getting a bit overwhelmed I my dodged had backed me against the wall as he got closer, Looking around I dodged his strong right hook as I dropped to the floor, spinning I pushed of the wall as I went through his legs as I completely passed through I turned jumping onto his shoulders, he staggered backwards started to reach up to grab me, but I quickly jumped again onto the wall high up as he stumbled backwards. Placing all my power in my legs I flew my body off the wall hitting the stumbling wolf in the chest as he fell to the ground as I stood on my hands and feet on his chest. “I win” I said teasing him stepping off as I walked away, “We aren’t done yet” he said getting up grabbing my shoulder stopping me. However before he could do anything I turned taking his arm and flipping him over as he landed on his back “Ok, I think your good” he said in shock as Jake stared at the ceiling, I looked up to see the other people watching stunned at the easiness it took for me to beat him. “Ok then, bring it” I said to everybody else as they all started charging me, the wolves go to me first as I dodged the first swing kicking and pushing people backwards as the soon circled me. Disarmed to wolves they backed off as Brad stepped forward swinging his mace towards me as I evaded the first swing stepping backwards as I dodged to the side as he brought it smashing down hitting the as the ground rumbled on impact leaving a miniature crater in the floor. Placing my foot on the head of the mace I jumped up onto Brad’s shoulders as he let go of the mace to reach up, but I quickly jumped down and crouched by his legs as with his arms up high his weight forced him backwards as he tripped over my body, falling to the floor. Jumping up again I took out the remaining wolves leaving them all on the floor as I walked away, to everybody’s disbelief especially Mr. Bow’s. I looked up at the hawks that were watching and occasionally shooting arrows at the target boards, walking to the side I picked up a bow and a quiver. Strapping the quiver in and putting the bow over my shoulder I quickly when and climbed up the wall as I sat on the roof of the building looking out at target boards as I pulled my bow out. Focusing my shot I fire an arrow as it hit the bulls eye and then firing several more arrows quickly I hit every other bulls eye before jumping down and walking over to the side to sit down to relax. “Master Shaw, have you heard the rumours?” Ben said running up to the incredibly large man, of human race but with a strong bear mix his power and ego quickly rose as he became selfish and cruel over his life, “Yes about the girl” he said looking down at his weak minion a thin small boy with rat inside him carrying out his master’s every whim. “Apparently they thought she was a wolf till her teenage change when she didn’t turn out like the others” Ben said quickly trying not to displease his master, “Go send the rat’s to monitor her, don’t get caught and bring me news about her I want to know every secret, every weakness and every strength” Shaw shouted firmly as he slammed his fist down on his stone throne. Ben quickly scurried off as he fled from Shaw’s rage to complete the task, running to the sewers he found some rats and told them what to do as they all quickly rushed off heading towards Salphasis and towards Aura. Shaw was once a respectable general, but his cruelty towards others made him dangerous and unpredictable, he was arrested for killing several of his own army during a fight and when brought up against these charges, he fled the human city of Miron and hid amongst the forests. He now resides in an old abandoned mine shaft as he uses fear to control rats to do his bidding. Sat on his stone throne Shaw thought about the possibilities of their being a panther around, “I have to get her under me, with a panther on my team nobody could stop me taking over the world” Shaw laughed to himself as he pondered plans to persuade Aura and how to draw her out. In the city of Miron the rumour had spread as the heroes of the world packed ready to go see if the rumour was true, Joey was an immense bear, brought up with two strong bear parents Joey was bred for greatness. His parents met in battle as they formed a quick bond protecting each other as they dominated the opposing forces during the wars, but soon after his mother fell pregnant as they both left the army to raise their child, Joey was huge even from birth he was the largest recorded baby of all time, nearly killing his mother during birth. But they both survived and Joey grew up getting bigger and stronger after his teenage change Joey dwarfed most people and even some of the adult female bears were smaller than him as Joey came top in his class in fight class just due to his extreme size and strength. Tipping the scales at 500lb ages twelve Joey could lift anything including other bears his own age, at the age of 18 his adult body change kicked in as he grew larger dwarfing both his parents as an adult bear would grow to about 12ft tall but Joey was at around 15ft and that was exceeding large for a human. As Joey grew into his adult body he became a hit with the ladies all of which wanted a child with such strong traits, he parents became very famous for raising such a strong child, but the time Joey was 20 he was a hero. He started out helping people rid a few bandit wolves or a rogue hawk which he would just swat out of the air, but not long after his first mission a huge beast arose from the depths of the island. Not many people know where these beasts come from but the lands are full of them some staying down underground killing heroes who dare challenge them and keeping the fallen victims armour and items as treasure, making the beast more valuable. But some beasts don’t like to stay hidden some break free and wreak havoc across the lands, it was at this time when a large snake like creature arose from its home bursting into a nearby cave and using those tunnels to break through to the surface. The snake travelled through into the city as most people ran in fear but Joey picked up his large mace and swung it into the side of the head of the slithering beast, the snake crashed into the building next to it as Joey ran up to it jumping up he brought all his strength down through his claws as her tore at the snaked neck before diving his head into the gash he made biting as the snakes throat from the inside ripping his throat out killing the mighty beast. The people watched with awe as the snake went slack as Joey stepped down from the side of the snake turning to face the crowd his face covered in blood as he held the air passage in his mouth, the crowd cheered as Joey quickly became a hero and from that day on, Joey has always protected his city killing man monstrous creatures as he would go and collect their treasure, whilst keeping anything of value and use to Joey the rest went to either his new team or his parents to sell for money. Joey’s team consisted of a hawk named Salina, a Tortoise named Mike and a rat named Jor. Salina was top of her class, the smartest and best shot with an arrow as Joey used her to scout the lands looking for anything suspicious and to use as a messenger when they’re weren’t any fights. Mike was a stubborn dwarf tortoise, he was top of his class as well being very defensive, although his size meant he could be swallowed whole, he always carried a large shield bigger than his body as well as his long thin sword. Mike would often be inside the creature’s mouths as they tried to bite him but he had a habit of jamming the beasts jaw open with his shield as he plunged his sword into the tongue, gums or brain before walking out the open mouth pulling his shield out with him. He too was a hero for many reasons he main one being when a pack of rogue wolves were trying to kill a family Mike defended all five of them including three young children under the age of five as he held off over 12 wolves. Jor was a rat but unlike most rats, Jor had been Joey’s friend throughout school, helping him with history and science as Joey was the brawn whilst Jor was the brains, Joey kept Jor away from the other rats as Jor became respectable and was always handy in a fight doing side tasks whilst the beast was distracted often using his surrounding to gain advantage in fight. During a fight with a mad wolf pack whilst Mike and Joey held them off Jor climbed up the curtains of their abandoned hall in which the pack lived as he cut the rope with his teeth dropping the hanging light on the wolves, the lights were large metal rings with candles on the rim but they weighed a lot and he dropped several on the wolves killing them instantly as the fight was quickly over. The team was known throughout the lands for their bravery and skill as they had all gain considerable armour, many pieces increasing their power further, Joey liked the whole animal side as he wore a small amount of armour which increased his strength whilst carrying a massive mace, a mace so heavy he was the only one who could lift it as the mace gave him even more strength, after a while each weapon would receive a name; Joeys mace was named Skull Smasher for Joey’s strength made one direct swing smash up a skull killing the victim in one shot, Mike’s shield was named Krvo which was old sung language for ‘Chewy’ which always amused Mike, Mike’s armour was large and bulky adding to his defences as his suite of armour which he collected from several beast’s lairs and tweaking so it all matched was named Grovin which again was old sung language for ‘Impenetrable’. Salina had her bow but it wasn’t as powerful as the armour and weapons Joey and Mike had and Jor was yet to find a dagger he liked, only wearing a small amount of armour both Salina and Jor were looking for some epic armour that suited them. The day was drawing to a close as Joey and his team packed up to leave for Salphasis, it was a long trip and he didn’t know what to expect of it but as always Mike had a bad feeling about it, but he always had a bad feeling about everything so Joey never paid much attention to it. “Ok guy’s let’s make a start before it’s dark as if I spend one more night in this city I won’t want to leave” Joey said picking up his bag as he stepped out into the courtyard as people waved wishing him and his team luck. I was home practicing my flexibility when I heard a knock at my door, “Aura, there’s a young man downstairs asking for you” my mum said poking her head through the door as she watched me in my one handed handstand on the post of my bed “For me?” I wondered curiously as I flipped over landing on the floor in front of my mum as she just smiled proudly as me. Walking down the stairs I suddenly felt nervous as who it might but and to my surprise I saw Brad at the at front door, I thought it might of been Jake as he was showing a sudden change today but none the less I acted normal as I stepped up to the door to speak with him “Hey Brad, What’s up” I asked looking out the door as he stood there looking down at me “Umm, I was wondering if you, umm, would like to, umm, come play with me and a few people in the forest” he asked looking nervous. I was stunned nobody had ever asked me to play with them before, My eyes widened as I beamed a smiling looking back at my parents who stood watching behind me as they just nodded to me. “Ok then, let’s go” I said to Brad as I stepped out the door “Bye mum, bye dad” I shouted closing the door as I walked down the path. We walked for a bit heading towards the edge of the city heading to the forest outside which was a popular place for the kids to play, the city was cornered off on the peak of the island but a large row of spiked mountains, each over 1000ft high they blocked us off from the rest of the island bar one small tunnel about a quarter of the way up which is guarded at all times. On the inside of the mountains is the Habrine Forest and then its Salphasis, which is then trapped by cliffs and a 200ft drop to the rocky beach below. “You ok?” Brad asked as we walked along the path, I looked up at him watching me as I looked in pain, “I have a cat’s spine, it’s not designed to be walking on two legs it just aches after a while” I said before leaning down walking on all fours as I relaxed my spine for a bit “Why don’t you walk like this all the time” Brad sad watching me occasionally looking up to see where he was going, “It’s embarrassing, I try to walk normally just to fit in but as you know it’s hurts” I said as I continued to walk next to him. After a brief chat about school and various other small talk conversations we arrived at the forest as I saw Jake and the other wolves as well as they hawks and bears but no rats. Even Troy the tortoise was here which I was surprised about as he was the only tortoise in the class and I thought he was more of an outcast than I was but I guess I was wrong as he looked happy and calm as they chatted obviously waiting for me. “We’re here” Brad shouted as they all turn to watch as I walked along side Brad up to them “Good, do you know how to play fetch aura?” Jake asked as I looked confused “You mean the game people play with their dogs?” I asked confused as they all laughed “Similar but it’s our version, each class has to work together to bring down and capture the other classes and bring them back to the prison which is this camp” Jake said as we walked over to them, “So basically if the hawks are the finders everybody else runs away and the hawks have to bring you back to here, but once your caught you have to stay here or it ruins the game” he continued smiling as I nodded “It’s a fun game but I hope you can elude the hawks as they are just too good” Brad said laughing as the hawks just grinned “Oh, you can fight back but nothing dangerous, you can run or fight but if your taken to the ground you lose and walk back willingly to the prison” Jake said grinning. “Ok let the hawks go first” Brad said sounding like he was just trying to get it over with. Stepping forward Zack the largest of the hawks spoke up “Ok, we will give you 2minutes to run before we capture you all” he said proudly and confidently as all the hawks sat down as he began counting, after hearing the first number everybody scattered as I watched everybody act like it was every man for himself. Running away I sprinted past Jake who was on all fours now as I climbed up into a tree as I sprinted along the branches before hiding in a large tree overgrown with leaves hiding me. I looked down watching as the bears walked around thinking they could swat away the hawks as the wolves all split up hiding behind trees as Troy just walked into a cave hiding from their line of sight from above. Looking back at the camp I saw them finish counting as they shot up into the air spying people, soon there was shouting as I watched people try to push the hawks away and flee but got knocked over and pinned as they stood up walking with their hands in the air back to the camp to rest. After a few minutes I quickly realised I was the last one left as I crept back towards the camp, I lay on the branch watching as brad spotted me, I quickly put my finger to my lips as he nodded sitting back down saying nothing as I watched the eagles guard the camp and look out for me. Walking along the branch I snuck down as I walked across the path easy to see, Zack quickly spotted me as he swooped down but I dodged his talons as he quickly struggled to land as he skidding against the ground his talons leaving drag Mikes in the ground. “I found her” Zack shouted as he walked up to me trying to tackle me, I dodged his attacks as I leaped forward pushing him back as he fell over as I sprinted off watching as he gathered himself up looking annoyed, “Here kitty kitty kitty” He taunted as I came out from around the tree as everybody from the camp watched as Zack walked up to me, he went to grab my arm but I pushed forward onto him as he fell down and I stepped off him walking in a circle waiting. Looking up I saw another hawk swoop down as she went to grab me but I ducked as she went crashing into Zack who was stood up now, the other 2 hawks quickly landed on the ground as I dodged their attempts of pinning and grabbing me as I pushed them all away “Ok We give you win” Zack said as he untangled himself from the mass of arms, legs and wings on top of him as the they all gave up, everybody from the camp quickly stood up to help them as they circled around me, “Nobody’s ever beaten all the hawks on their own” Brad said shocked looking over at the hawks who were not stood up walking into the group “Ok, you win. You’re up next” Zack said smiling as I nodded walking back to the camp I started counting. “1...2...3...4” I said as hearing the sounds of wings flapping and footsteps running away, “101...102...103...104” I said as the sounds of the forest awoke to me as I covered my eyes, I could hear panting and snickering from a distance as well as the sound of laughing and flapping from high up. “116...117...118...119...120” I finished as I hit 2minutes exactly, opening my eyes I squinted as they adjusted to the sudden burst of light slapping my face like a fish. I looked around as I pin pointed the sounds as I shot off up into the closest tree. Walking along the branches I dropped down onto a wolf hiding behind a tree as I pinned him to the floor as he gave up, I watched as he walked back to the camp hands held high as he sat down waiting, I jumped back up into the tree as I looked for the other people. After 20minutes I had caught everybody as they sat watching the hawks as I hid in the tree’s waiting, after another 10minutes they were getting tired of flapping and as they lowered down to canopy level I pounced dragging them to the ground as I pinned them down waiting till this gave up. Some tried to fight back but once they were on their bellies they couldn’t get away easily as they soon gave up. Zack was last as I skulked along the branches as he landed on the ground taunting me; I crept closer as he stood spinning every time he heard a noise. I was close now as he stepped under an archway of branches connecting to tree as I stood above him, sit down I hooked my legs as I flipped backwards of the branch spinning as my arms hit Zack’s shoulders and my momentum pushed him down onto his back as I landed on my feet, he quickly pushed me with his hands trying to get up as I stumbled backwards. Moving forward he made a few attempts to grab me so he could swing me away but I dodged them, and when he did a powerful swing with his right arm, I pulled his arm in front of me as his body swung round as I took out his legs dropping him to the floor as I straddled his back pinning his arms around his back. “Ok, I give, get off” he shouted wriggling as I jumped up walking back to the camp with a big smile on my face. “Good game, everybody” Jake said as we all stood together “I have to head home now, see you all in class tomorrow” he said before running off as everybody quickly separated as we all headed home. I started walking back following them when I heard a scream behind me, “Brad!” I shouted as he looked back “I heard a scream and I can’t see Troy” I said as he walked up to me, he gave me a look of worry as we headed off into the forest as Brad followed me. “Ahhhhhh” I heard again as I headed in a different direction as soon I found a cave “How big is this cave?” I asked brad as he caught up “Not very big but this hole was never here before” he said confused looking scared now “Ok brad, let’s go save Troy” I said firmly as he nodded as we stepped around the hole going into the cave. The cave wasn’t very large but I lead down into a large underground chamber where we found Troy shouting in the corner and an almighty spider trying to use its pincers to bite Troy but his tough skin saving him, “Brad, we have to kill it” I said to brad as he looked terrified, I pulled his arm forward as I shouted loudly at the spider “Hey, Leave him alone!” I roared as the spider turned to face me, I sprinted forward as the spider walked towards me, jumping off the little ledge into the chamber I landed on the spiders back clawing at its head as I quickly broke the skin as the spider stomped the ground trying to shake me off. Brad soon came and joined the fight as he swatted at the spiders legs trying to knock him over put find it useless. The spider then flicked his leg sending Brad flying off into the wall as he fell with a crash, seriously angry I clawed at it head as I hit bone, turning my scratching into punching I punched hard and fast into the bloody mess I made as I felt the skull give way and soon my first burst through as I ripped and pulled at its brain. Brad was just getting up at the time when I felt a snap in the brain as the spider went limp as it fell flat to the floor. “Brad, take Troy to the city, get the guards. I’m going to check the tunnel for more spiders” I shouted as he nodded as he picked up troy who was too scared to move carrying him out the cave. Stepping off the spider I headed towards the mouth of the cave as I headed down the new tunnel deep into the ground, I found myself considerably as I could see in the dark as I felt my eye switch into night vision as everything went green and I could see my surroundings. I crept quickly as the tunnel split as one side lead down into another large chamber as the other lead into a dead end. Checking the dead end first I spotted dozens of eggs as I quickly left heading to the chamber, I walked on all fours across the stones I looked down into the chamber as I saw about 8 more spider’s one being massive and obviously the leader of them all. Looking down I spotted a sharp broken bit of stalactite on the floor as I picked it up moving to the closest spider, Jumping down I landed on its head as I used all my strength to slam the spike down as I jammed into his head killing it instantly. Pulling out the spike as the spider slummed to the floor I was immediately under attack from the other spiders, their legs trying to hit me as they’re pincers getting dangerously close. As one spider got close I jumped onto its head swinging my arm down I stabbed the spike into its eyes as the spike shook trying to shake me off I gripped onto the spike firmly implanted in its eye and once it stopped I slammed the spike down into its head killing it. The next three spiders went down the same but I slammed too hard with the spike as it got lodged into the brain and I couldn’t pull it out. I ran under the next spider as I clawed it is joints as the lack of strength gave out as he fell to one side, running onto its back I started pounding my fists down onto its neck and head as my claws quickly broke through the skin and muscles as my fists smashed into its head pounding the brain till death. I jumped down sprinting to the last of the small spiders as I clawed at its easy before punching at its head till it too died from a hole in the head and a mashed up brain, the spider quickly fell slack as I slid of him to look at the largest spider as he looked down at me from its towering height, quickly getting into it I ran for his legs as I sliced his front 3 legs on either side as he fell forward unable to hold himself up. I climbed onto its head as I looked up to see brad and some soldiers watching my glowing eyes as I looked down pounding the hell out of the spiders skull, after a while the skull cracked as I dug my entire arm into the brain swishing it around tearing it apart as the best fell to the floor dead. “Aura you ok?” Brad shouted as they set up lights around the chamber as the quickly saw the destruction I caused “I think my hand’s are broken” I shouted back as I walked over to them as they stood on the ledge “Down there are the eggs, kill the eggs before more hatch” I said as two soldiers quickly ran off down to the dead end as I head swishing as sounds of water hitting the floor. “Private, take her back to see a medic and then bring a elder back, take brad home as well” the leading soldier said as he looked down at my hands which I held close to me head. “Is Troy ok?” I asked as the soldier looked confused “Troy is fine aura” Brad said as the soldier wrapped a cloth around me as I walked back to the city. “What’s happened?” Elder Joseph said stepping into the entrance of the cave “from what we know the kids were playing a simply hunting game, a kid name Mike hid in the cave and was forgotten, Aura found him bring Brad a bear with her, we found this second tunnel which wasn’t here before as we believe Aura and brad found troy in here being attack by the spider” The soldier said as he pointed to the dead spider on the floor “Two teens took out that on their own?” Elder Joseph said stunned “That’s not the half of it” the elder said as they walked down into the bottom chamber “Brad told us the he manage to get one swing at the spider before it kicked him sending him into the wall, and that by the time he got up Aura had killed it, she then told brad to take Troy back to the city and everything down he she has done on her own” The soldier said as the large newly lighted chamber came into view as the elder gasped in shock, “We believe there was 8 spiders in total and one being the leader as all spider looked to have died the same way with a hole in the back of the head whilst some have slice legs” The soldier said leading them through the chamber “Does the spider have any treasure, as I believe Aura has earned it” The elder said as the soldier shook his head “No, we believe these spiders were secluded until one broke into the above cave, so no treasure in here for her” he said as they stepped out. “Ok that you for tell me this, I will see she is rewarded” the elder said walking away out the cave. I lay back in the medic room as I drank a rejuvenation potion as I felt my hands start to heal up as my fingers felt normal and the grazes and cuts from hitting the bone with my fists quickly healed back up to perfect skin again. Stepping into the room I watched as the elder walked up to me with a young female wolf following him taking notes, “Ok aura, I’ve seen what you done, now tell me how you did it” he said calmly I as began “We were playing a hunting game called fetch and after the game ended everybody decided to go home, I stay back a bit clearing things up when I heard a scream, I called to Brad who was only just ahead of me as I told him I heard a scream and that I never found Troy, so we quickly ran off as I followed the screaming when we found the cave” I explained watching as the girl noted it all down, “I found Troy trapped in the corner with a spider trying to bite him but he was lucky he was a tortoise or he would be dead, so I quickly distracted the spider by shouted as I jumped onto its back, I started clawing at it as I had no weapon and when I reach bone I started punching and soon enough the bone broke as my hand went in and I pulled at the brain tearing it apart, Brad came to help and started trying to take out the spiders legs to stop it moving but got hit hard as he went flying into the wall. The spider died and I realised the brad wasn’t strong enough to overpower the spiders and I was only safe as they couldn’t get me when I was on top of them” I continued taking pauses so the girl could write it all down, “I told brad to take troy back as I would check for more spiders in the lower tunnel and to bring back soldiers” I added before continuing, “I went down the tunnel trying to stay quiet as I found the dead end with eggs as I decided to leave them till last, I looked down and saw lots of spiders and one big spider at the back as I picked up a large pointed spike of rock off the floor I jumped stabbing the spiders in the head killing them, after about the fourth spider I stabbed too hard as the spike was lost in the skull. I left it as a spider was so closes to biting me, I started climbing onto their heads not getting off until I had punched into their skull and destroyed the brain, for some I ran under them slicing the joints of the legs so they couldn’t shake me off as I stood on their heads, then the big one was left as I took out his three front legs as he fell forward as I again punched into his skull. Then the soldiers arrived” I finished as the girl quickly wrote it all, looking shocked at what she was writing. “You’re a hero” the elder said patting my shoulder as they walked out, I quickly left soon after as I headed to Troy’s house, I knocked on the door as his mum opened the door looking worried and then relieved it was me “I came to see if Troy was ok?” I said honestly as she opened the door as I walked into the lounge “He’s upstairs, but he won’t tell us what’s happened” she said franticly as she looked like she had been crying “Talk to the soldiers or an elder, they will tell you” I said walking up the stairs to the only shut door as I walked in to see Troy curled up in bed sobbing “Troy, hey it’s all fine, it over” I said crawling up onto the bed next to him as he turned to face me, “I was so scared, I thought I was going to die” he said streaming tears as he buried his head into my shoulder “You die? Bah, that puny spider didn’t stand a chance you’re a tortoise, no spider no matter how big could beat you” I said as he smiled at me, “You killed it didn’t you?” he said as I nodded “Good” He said again burying his head back in my shoulder as he relaxed “Now, last time I checked you were a indestructible tortoise, so why are you still crying” I sad wiping his tears away as he grinned up at me “Thank you for saving me” Troy said sitting up “Hey just think, that spider couldn’t get you when you had no armour or weapon, just think when your an adult with armour and weapons nothing can beat you” I said cheering him up as we stood up walking downstairs, “Well anyway night Troy, see you in school tomorrow” I said waving as I stepped out the door walking back to my house. Stepping through my door I was greeted by a big hug from my mum “Everyone says you’re a hero, I don’t know what you did but I’m proud of you” my mum said smiling giving me a tighter hug afterwards “It’s no big deal, I’m fine” I said letting go “I’m exhausted so I’m going to head to bed” I said as she nodded watching as I walked up the stairs. Stepping into my room I just collapsed on my bed before curling up like a cat and falling asleep. Waking up the next day, I quickly rushed off to school thinking I was late as Mrs. Krilo stood outside waiting for everybody, “What’s going on Mrs” Jake said getting annoyed, “Elders orders we are all to meet in the forest” She said as she started walking as everybody mumbled questions to each other along the path towards the gates to the forest. We arrived about five minutes later when, and as I stepped around the corner I saw all of the spider’s dragged out into the open and Elder Joseph and soldiers stood in front of them. A large crowd had already formed as they looked over the giant mass of spiders. “Ladies and Gentlemen” the elder spoke loudly as everybody turned to look at him “In the evening of yesterday a group of kids where playing a hunting game and when they went to leave Aura heard screaming and noticed a missing child” he said as they all looked over at me jumping to conclusions “She brought Brad, a bear with her as they found the missing boy in a cave being attacked by one of these spiders” he said pointing behind him, “With their brave efforts they managed to save the boy and kill the spider, Brad then took troy back home and to fetch the guards as Aura went to check for more spiders. By the time the soldiers arrived only 10minutes later Aura had killed all the spiders including its leader” he said pointing to the larger spider on the side as people gasped “With the use of a sharp stone and her own hands Aura managed to kill 8 Spiders all over 5 times bigger than herself” he said motioning me forward as I stepped up next to him “For her heroic level of bravery I proudly name Aura as Hero and congratulations to you for being the youngest person in Elvin history to achieve that title” he said clapping as the crowd up roared in applause as I bowed my head back to them. “With most great battles the winner would gain the treasure of the beast” He said as my eyes widened in hope “But unfortunately there was none, but I hope this will be just as good” he said handing me a necklace. It was simply just a bit of strong and a small wooden pendant, Only a few people had these as you could buy anything at a 50% discount in the city, they usually only went to those who do something truly amazing and from what I just did, I guess they think that’s me “Oh wow thank you” I said putting on the necklace as the crowd cheered again. “Now the soldiers will dispose of the bodies, so you can all return back to work and class” he said as people started to turned and leave as I stepped back up to the crowd “One session of training with me and she’s slaying everything... Man I’m good” Jake said as everybody laughed as we walked back to the class “What was it like fighting them?” a wolf said walking at the same speed as me “It was weird, but in a way easy. I just stood on their heads where they could reach me as I pounded into their heads and ripped apart their brains” I said as they all “Oohed” at my story. Hiding in the shadows of the forest Shaw’s rats watched the elder give his speech and named Aura hero, “Come on guys lets tell this to Shaw” one rat said as they all quickly ran off heading towards the mountains. Joey and his team were walking along the path arriving at the tunnel when the guards quickly stopped them in their path “Identify yourselves” he shouted walking towards them with his palm on the hilt of his sword as he circled it around in his belt. “I’m Joey Brona, we came to see if the rumour’s of the panther were true, if so It would be an honour for us to meet her” he said honestly as the guard smiled “It is true, but please wait until over 4pm as she is in school” The soldier said happily as he stepped to the side letting them pass, Joey smiled nodding his head in thanks as he stepping into the tunnel heading down towards the city. “So class, who can tell me the names of all the islands” Mrs. Krilo said speaking out to the class as we all watched her, “Were on Juni, were surrounded by the current, then there is Okomira to our south shaped like a bean, then the large island of Nighim to its south, which is next to the Bogra Isles, they are three islands grouped close together, then above them is Theen a another bean shaped island. To our east we have Jhigni shaped like a T and then there is Shivna about it shaped like a snake and Bolkn to its east shaped like a tear” Luke said being the smartest of us all and a wolf. “Correct” Mrs. Krilo said happily looking over at the class “And what do we know of these island?” Mrs. Krilo asked again focusing her eyes on us as we all sat a bit confused “Nothing, we know nothing because we can’t cross the current it smashed our ships into the rocks” I said speaking up as she nodded again “Exactly, but I hear rumour that the dwarves have created a metal ship that could survive” she as we all looked at her in awe. “Anyway that’s it for today, have a great weekend” she said standing up as we all quickly rushed out the door. “What you doing tonight Aura?” Jake asked, “Not sure, but I doubt I will go to the forest for a while not until the spiders bodies are all gone” I said as he nodded “Aura?” a man said as I turned to look up at the towering human in his armour “Umm, yeah?” I replied nervous as he smiled “My names Joey, it’s a real honour to meet you” he said kneeling down to shake my hand “You’re not Joey Brona, are you?” I asked looked up at him “I am” he said grinning as all the guys in my class burst out asking questions at him “I hear you took down all those spiders we saw outside” he said as I nodded, “Well, would it be too much to ask for a little sparring fight with you” He asked as I blushed “Ok” I said nervously as I walked off “The training ring is this way” I said shouting after him as he quickly caught up to me. Soon crowds had spotted the huge human as he followed me to the ring, by the time we had reached the ring nearly half the city was circling us watching us “Choose your weapon” I said firmly as he shifted his huge mace off his shoulder catching it in his hand as he laughed “And yours?” he said confidently as I sharpened the edge of my claws with another claw as he laughed “I will go easy on you don’t worry” he said treating me like a child as I was getting annoyed with him “It’s you who should be worried” I said before crouching to the floor sprinting towards him, I saw him start his swing as I went faster reaching his body before mace swung forward, I dived through his legs making tiny little cuts along his skin which did no real damage but still hurt. He let go of his mace trying to swing a paw at me as I jumped landing on his head as he fell forward face planting the ground as I stepped off him, “Aura 1: Joey 0” I taunted as he got up off the ground, “Your quick” he said getting to his feet as I stood on the other side of the circle waiting “You ready, big guy” I said as he nodded picking up his mace. I watched as he stepped closer swinging his mace I easily stepped out the way, and as he swung again I took a side step backwards avoiding it, “Come on” I taunted as he started getting mad, swing faster his swings got more powerful as they missed spinning Joey with its momentum as he made large holes in the ground where his mace hit, after a few minutes or teasing him I dodged to the side, his slammed planted the mace in the ground as he let go of it. Taking my chance I jumped on the edge of the handle of the mace as it flung the head up into the air as I jumped pushing myself of the mace head as it flew into Joey knocking him down as I gracefully landed on my feet as Joey lay under his own mace out of breath. “Aura 2: Joey 0” I said again as the crowd cheered, getting angry Joey stood up as I stood facing away from him, he huge hand grabbing my arm as he lifted me off the ground, “Fine, if you’re dirty so am I” I said flipping myself round so I stood on his arm like a branch as I sliced my claws along his fingers releasing me as I dropped to the floor, landing perfectly I stepped onto his knee jumping up as I landed on his head, I clawed at his back before kicking him in the head as I travel down his back dropping to the floor, the kick to the head was enough for him to stagger backwards as I pushed into his legs taking him out as he fell backwards tumbling to the floor. “Aura 3: Joey 0... Give up now” I said walking away as he looked pissed. “Joey calm down, she just a little girl and she showing off” Mike said trying to calm the giant down as he drunk a small rejuvenation potion healing up his scratches, “She beat me easily like I was it was her playing with a child” he said annoyed “Well don’t fight her, be the better man, rise above it and be proud, she’s a panther anyway we don’t know her weaknesses like other classes” Mike said as Joey calmed down, “Yeah your right, where is she?” he asked looking up “She’s gone but it’s Saturday tomorrow, she will be out an around, say we rest and get supplies tomorrow and try to find her” Mike said as they all got up walking over to the inn. “Aura, that was impressive, if a bit mean of you” my mum said as I stepped into my home “Oh come on, he picked me up by my arm and I wasn’t going to just let him win” I said defending myself “I know, but you just embarrassed one of the islands most prestigious hero’s” My mum said “Ok, if I see him tomorrow I will apologise” I said defeated knowing she was right. With my next day planned I headed up to bed as I curled up on my bed. “Master Shaw, the girl is strong she defeated 8 large spiders including the leader with nothing but her fists and a rock” the Rat said as he bowed down to Shaw, “Why are you all hear, two of you watch her at all times the other two bring information back to me, your idiots now leave before I kill you for your idiocy” he bellowed as the rats quickly fled in terror running back to Salphasis. “8 spider’s huh, let’s see how she handles a snake” Shaw said to himself as he whistled loudly, a rumbling in the cave shook as a gigantic snake burst into his cave looking at him, “Go to Salphasis, and kill the Panther girl” Shaw ordered as the snake quickly turned around heading out the door as It travelled along the road to Salphasis. I woke up the next day feeling great, the sun was shining and I had my day set. Getting dressed, I quickly climbed out my window as I looked out over the city, I quickly ran from roof to roof as I spotted the inn in the trade side of the city. I saw the open window on the top floor as I ran from roof to roof before jumping, leaping into the air and diving into the bedroom. Looking up I saw Joey sleep in the bed, his legs hanging of the end as he looked very uncomfortable, “Joey” I said quietly poking him “Joey” I repeated slightly louder, “Joey” I again shouted punching him in the face which woke him up “Really, you sleep until somebody punches you” I said questioning him as he rubbed his eyes awake “Don’t you knock?” he said putting his head into the pillow not even noticing who I was, “I didn’t use the door” I said giggling as he looked up shocked to see me in his room “Wow, what are you doing in here” he said looking up at me expectantly, “I’m sorry, I just wanted to apologise for yesterday, I get a bit carried away and I didn’t want you to hate me” I said wording it slightly differently to how I planned “Why would I hate you?” he asked looking up at me “You looked awfully mad after the sparring” I said as he smiled, “I actually wanted to speak to you about that, I’m sorry for getting mad it’s not in my nature to be aggressive only protective” he said sitting up as he nearly towered over me even when sat down. “I just didn’t want you being mad at me because I beat you, plus my mum thinks that I embarrassed you so I’ve come to say that I will do anything to regain your reputation” I said smiling hoping he would understand “Thank you, I guess being easily beaten by a twelve year old doesn’t exactly do wonders for my reputation” Joey said laughing as I giggled. Suddenly I heard the city alarm go off as it thundered throughout the city “That’s the alarm, we only use it for emergency’s, maybe this is your time to get back your reputation... get dressed I will meet you in the forest” I said climbing out the window before he could answer, I sprinted down as people fled in the opposite direction, after jumping onto a roof to avoid the people I arrived at the city gates where a gigantic snake stood, a hundred times bigger than the spiders he lay flat as his head was over 30ft high, rushing forward I got his attention as I clawed at his skin climbing onto it head. By the time I was on top I saw Joey and his team arrive, taking my claw I reached down as clawed at its eyes as the beast bent it’s back in pain as I clung onto the eyeball, once it steadied itself I quickly clawed at the other eye. Soon a crowd gathered against the wall as people watched my ride the head of this great beast but suddenly he flung me up into the air as it opened his mouth, swallowing me whole as I heard the loud gasp coming from the crowd. Digging my claws in I tore at its tongue as I sliced at the snakes gums before tearing at the roof of the snakes mouth, soon a hole was made as Joey and his team watched in horror as this snake arched and spun not letting anybody get close as they all thought I was eaten. Once the hole was big enough I climbed in and sliced his brain cord as the snake quickly fell forward crashing with his head only meters away from Joey, stepping down out the whole I pulled the brain out with me as I lifted up his mouth throwing the brain to Joey’s feet before climbing out the mouth myself as people cheered and celebrated my feat. “How did you do that?” Joey asked picking up the brain “It flung me into the air but I clawed at his tongue so he couldn’t swallow me, then clawed a hole in the roof of his mouth, climb in as slice the cord connecting the brain” I said like it was a walk in the park “You didn’t even attack, I hoped we would do this together” I said looking at his clean mace “I was about to when I watched you get swallowed then the snake started arching and flipping not letting us get close” he said as I just laughed “Ok, well I’m covered in snake spit so excuse me if I don’t hug you” I said as he laughed as I walked through the crowd trying to shake snake spit of my body. “She killed it in minutes, I need her on my team now” Shaw thought to himself as he felt the connection to his snake go dead. After my quick bath I headed back out to see people jumping on the large snake as the elder stood close talking to Joey “Hey Elder Joseph, you know you were saying about a treasure for the kill, well I want all the treasure to go to Joey but I would like the snake fangs” I said nicely as he looked at me, “Sorry dear the snake came through the tunnel from the outside we have no Idea where it’s lair was so no treasure but sure we can get you the fangs, can I ask you plan to do with them?” he asked looking oddly at me, “well I would like to create one into a awesome curved sword and the other into a dagger” I said as he nodded, I watched as guards quickly started hacking at them with their swords until the two large fangs fell out broken off, “could you take them to the blacksmith’s I would like to make them myself if the blacksmith will teach me” I said as the soldiers nodded carrying the fangs away, “I’m sorry Aura but there’s no more rewards I can bestow upon you” the elder said looking at me, “It’s ok I don’t need anything” I said as he nodded as I headed back inside. “Hey aura” Joey said running after me, “You’re incredibly brave fighting that beast, that’s got to be one of the biggest creatures I’ve seen and those fights nearly killed me but your are very talented” he said shaking my hand “Just wait till I have my adult body, then I will be awesome” I said as he just grinned letting me go as I turned to head off to the blacksmith to make my weapons. “Hello Matka” I said walking into the Blacksmiths as he stood looking at the fangs “I presume these are yours then?” he replied looking down at the large 8ft fangs that stood in his shop, “Yes, I was hoping you would help me make them into weapons, I would like a sword and a dagger, but I would like to help you make them” I asked hopefully as he nodded smiling, “Ok let’s make the sword first” He said picking up a fang as he lay it on the table “How big do you want it as it’s already bigger than you” He said chuckling as I giggled, “It’s about 8ft right?” I asked as he nodded “Can’t we grind it down to about 6ft so I can use it as a large sword ready for my adult body, but I want it to look like a fang” I said as he nodded. Over the next hour together we grinded the base of the fang down on the spinning stone wheel as the fang finally hit 6ft, taking it off we grinded the sides in a bit as we sharpened it up keeping the shape and curve of the fang just a lot sharper. Going to the end we carved a hole in the base of the fang as we attached a hilt which matched the size of the sword as we made it out of a strong wood, “Could we add some slightly engravings down it for decoration?” I asked as he smiled nodding, “Here, let me cut the other fang so you’re can make your dagger whilst I carve the sword” he said pulling up the other fang onto the table and cutting of the end chunk. “Ok, but help me if I make a mistake” I said as he laughed “You’re doing fine” he said leaving me to it as I grinded the fang so the base was slightly more curves so it looked like a fang, sharpening the sides I made the tip extremely sharp. Attaching the hilt was hard as I used the same technique as last time just with a smaller piece of wood, happy with my work I showed it to Matka who judged it as I looked at the engraving going down one side of the sword, “Wow that’s amazing” I said looking back up at Matka quickly before feeling the engravings on the sword “Your dagger is impressive, balanced, sharp and strong... You could make a fine blacksmith” he said smiling as I blushed. “Here you can take the dagger, and I will look after the sword because of its size, I believe the elder is planning another ceremony again” Matka said as I looked down “It’s nice and I’m honour but without I feel like I’m cheating my city... Getting treasure from the creature I slain is one thing, but rewards and titles. It’s like their trying to reward me and I want to earn stuff” I said looking down “Treasure is all other peoples items who died trying to face the beast, some of the best treasure is like this, taking part of the beast to symbolise your victory” Matka said as I smiled “They’ve bunt the spiders and probably the snake by now to get more things to make stuff out off” I said looking down, “Oh well there’s always more beasts” I said looking up as Matka grinned at me, “Well I will take hold of this, you can show off your dagger as I think your should be back in school” Matka said as I realised where I was meant to be “Oh ok, thank you Matka” I said tucking the dagger in my belt as I sprinted off to class, running along the path people watched as I sprinted on all fours jumping up to run along the fence as I jumped onto a roof, I leapt from roof to roof as I jumped from the house over the path as I landed outside my classroom door. Standing up I straightened my clothes as I stepped inside to see them all learning about the island “Sorry, I’m late I got caught up” I said quickly sneaking into the back of the class “Ok, get your book out and turn to page... Is that a weapon?” Mrs. Krilo asked narrowing her hawk eyes on me as everybody turned “Umm, yeah I just made it, I thought I would have been quicker but it took awhile” I said as she walked over holding out her hand. A bit disappointed of losing my home made weapon I pulled it out placing it on her hand as everybody eyed the Fang dagger, “It’s impressive, but you know the rules. No weapons in class” She said holding it by the hilt as she placed it on her desk before carrying on with the lesson “So who knows the rumours of the island?” Mrs. Krilo asked eyeing the class “I heard one rumour that under the ground the whole world is connected, and that the sea rests above this underwater land, and on the other islands the beasts roam free but use the underground connection to get under the current and into our island” Troy said looking more confident today which was good, “That’s one rumour, who knows anymore?” she asked as everybody went quiet. “Well there have been rumours that there are other beings, not just elves, humans and dwarfs, but the dwarfs have apparently made a device the can show you what’s far away and they’ve seen some odd creatures” Mrs. Krilo said the crowd gasped in awe and shock “Mrs... If the spiders came from underground and the world is connected, couldn’t we just go underground to the other islands as I guess it would be like a underground tunnel leading from one surface cave to another” Jake asked curiously “It’s probably possible but with the unknown about of creatures down there it would be hard to survive” Mrs. Krilo said answering Jake “But it’s not just the surviving that’s the problem” I spoke up as everybody turned “What’s the other problem then?” Mrs. Krilo asked curiously “Greed, most the heroes go down there for the treasure, if you slay the beast by the time you take the treasure out and back to their homes and banks the beasts would have filled up the space now available. And with treasure just sitting there nobody is going to just ignore it and keep travelling forwards, they’re going to take it and leave.” I said as she nodded “That works for the first few beasts that have killed the heroes but after say five beasts, no hero would have made it that far before, so there would be no more treasure further in and you could just keep killing” Brad said flawing me “True, Mrs. Krilo do you know what beasts there are?” I asked as everybody turned to look at her “There are stories of fights, we know there are spiders and snakes, but also there are large wolves, not like us wolves but 100% wolf that grow to about 7ft tall and hunt in large packs of around 20. Also there are records of giant wasps, three headed dogs, salamanders and giant beetles” she said trying to think about them all. “What’s a salamander?” Mike asked looking nervous “Think of a normal lizard and it’s that shape, with clawed hands a long neck and tail, they are basically the same as a normal lizard just much larger” She explained as she stepped round her desk “What do people do with the bodies as surely the bodies would pile up as the beasts don’t know how to set fire to them” Jake asked again speaking up. “True, some are scavenged, like Aura’s dagger is from the fangs of the snake, the scales of a salamander would make good armour, the shell of a beetle would make a great shield, the stinger from a wasp a sword and fur from a wolf would sell for lots, but if beasts are killed underground I predict their bodies would be eat by other beasts until it’s just bone and then the bones would be stepped on and ground into the floor” she said as thought about. “Ok class dismissed” Mrs. Krilo said as she checked the time. We all flooded out as I went and asked for my dagger back “Mrs. Krilo could I have my dagger I want to show it to Mr. Bow” I said as she nodded picking it up off the table and handing it to me “Just don’t bring it back in here” she said just before she let go as it lay in my hands. “I won’t, thank you” I said putting it away and running out the class. “Hey Aura, let’s see your dagger” Jake said waiting for me outside as a crowd quickly gathered “Matko helped me make it” I said proudly as they passed it around, “What about the other fang?” Brad asked looking at me “Matko made it into a sword, but is looking after it for me as its 6ft tall and I can’t lift it” I said as everybody laughed. Putting my dagger back in my belt we played for a bit as we chanced and tackled each other to the ground, I let them tackle me on a few occasions just to make it seem fair as they all laughed at getting me, I soon chased after them. “How does a child defeat a huge snake?” One of the rats asked another rat as they watched from the shadows behind the building “Should we tell Shaw of his snake?” another rat asked “No, it was his snake. He would feel the connection go dead, he knows” the leading rat said, “There’s talk that Joey Bronan is here and she beat him easily in a simple sparring fight” the rat said as they all looked shocked “Look she’s going into class let’s try and get closer” the rat said as they stuck to the shadows watching as I entered the courtyard where we trained. “Ok class, Today I will be focusing on shields and defence that means Panther and hawks can go practice, wolves you can leave or stay as this could help you and bears it’s your choice” He said firmly as the few class people stepped up, I even walked up to join in “You don’t wear shield’s aura” Mike said looking confused “I know, but I watch how you learn to use them, gives me better knowledge of their weak spots so I know how to beat people with swords” I said as they understood and continued. Mrs. Krilo was quietly sneaking off to see the elder as she did every Monday “How has she progressed?” the elder asked as he sat at his desk “It’s hard to say, her personality has changed so much now she knows what she is, but we all know of her fighting ability but in class she’s different. She’s smart but she’s coming up with all these ideas that I never thought off, normal panthers are hunters, liking to stalk and tease their prey which she shows signs of when she taunted Joey during their sparring fight” Mrs. Krilo said as the elder listened intently “So what sort of ideas does she come up with?” He asked interested “We walk having a discussion on the islands and I said there was rumour of beasts roaming free on the island, somebody came up with the idea of it being like an underground tunnel connecting the islands and it would be possible to travel to the islands underground” she said taking a breath “But people realised the tunnels would be full of beasts and not many people would make it all the way through, but aura came up with the idea that greed stopped people” she said as the elder sat back, “Greed.. How?” he asked looking up at Mrs. Krilo “She said that people might of tried to go through but the beasts would kill them claiming their armour as treasure, if many people died there would be a lot of treasure so If somebody did kill the beast high chance was they would take the treasure and leave, not ignore it and carry on through” She said as the elder realised the truth “I see how that works, what else has she showed signs in?” her asked looking at her hoping for a flaw “I haven’t seen her fight enough but I think he mind set switches, she acts like a normal teen in class but when fighting she switches into something else, like the fact she punched those spiders till her hands broke and then carried on punching and the first thing she said to the soldiers was to kill the eggs. Most people would have stopped when their hands broke, but it was like a mindset of focus she had to kill the beast. Even when she was swallowed she said she clawed at its tongue to not be swallowed and then broke into the skull” Mrs. Krilo said explaining “If she has a weakness I’d say it would be being open as according to Jake in their hunting game she tracked them from in the tree’s and she was always hidden” she finished as the elder looked up “Yeah, she was a bit nervous when I brought her in front of the crowds but that could be just nerves” he said “Ok well keep me informed” the elder said as Mrs. Krilo quickly left. “Shields are strong and tough, but the shield is only as good as the person behind the shield, for example” Mr. Bow said pointing towards Mike “Mike is a tortoise, tough skin tough shield, he’s pretty much invincible but because Mike is strong her can hold his shield up and take a hit or three” Mr. Bow said as he wacked his small pace against Mikes shield as he just lifted the shield up taking it, before grinning as he lowered the shield, “But with wolves and bears your shield has to be up and facing the opponent because if they get around you to the soft parts of your like everywhere else you’re done” He said as he swung his small mace at a wolf who blocked it but fell over as a result. “That’s why tortoises are the ones getting hit when fighting beasts as they can take a hit” Mr. Bow said helping up the wolf, “Mr. Bow, because tortoises skin is so tough how would you kill one, say if there was a tortoise bandit leader” I asked as he looked at me, “Not many ways to get a tortoise, the skin of a tortoise is nearly unbreakable so if you find away use it” he said looking at me, “What about the parts that aren’t skin, for example the eyes or I could dig my dagger through their mouth, or poison kill them from the inside” I said as he nodded “Poison is the most common way tortoises die except for old age, most adult tortoises where heavy armour and a helmet which covers the weak spots on the face, plus the large shield would also be used to prevent any attacks on the face” he said putting his small mace down. “Can you attack with a shield?” Mike asked looking hopefully “Sadly no, shields are defence only” Mr. Bow said as I looked at him “Yeah you can” I said as they looked at me, If you charge with your shield up you would knock somebody down, and when their down you could easily stab them, or drop the shield on their foot trapping them and then pushed the top part of the shield forward, they will fall back and then you can stab them again.” I said as Mr. Bow looked at me in shock “I never thought of that” Mr. Bow said “Ok, let’s try it, Mike you have your shield, and Danny you attack him” He said as Danny ran forward, he took two slices at the shield and then Mike pushed hard knocking Danny over as he pulled his shield away pointing his sword down at Danny “Go Mike” I said as he grinned happily “What was the other one?” Mike asked looking at me, “Here, say I’m in front of the shield trying to reach behind to hit you, Don’t actually drop your shield, but if you look down you will see my feet, trap my foot then push with the top of the shield whilst keeping my foot trapped” I said as he followed my instructions as I lost my footing and fell backwards “That’s awesome” Mike said as he helped me up again “What else is there?” he asked looking at me, “I’m not sure, let me come back to you tomorrow with more ideas” I said as he nodded. The school day was soon over as I headed back home, walking in I saw the elder talking with my parents as they all turned to face me “Aura, for your ability to defend and protect this city and its people, I want to reward you” he said as I looked at him “It’s fine, really” I said as he was taking none of it, “You’re going to like this, tomorrow afternoon I will be holding a ceremony for you” he said as I trying to act grateful “Thank you but, you don’t have to go through all that for me, I kind of feel bad about it?” I said as he looked at me “Why?” he asked curiously “I embarrassed Joey the day before, I went to apologise and then the snake came. I hoped we would work together to kill it but he just stood there and watched as I did it, So now he’s been beaten by a twelve year old and when killing a beast he froze and let a twelve year old do everything” I said as he smiled “Nobody really cares how anything happens, as long as it happens, whether it was you, Joey or a toddler who killed that snake the most important thing is that it’s dead” he said happily as I smiled up at him “Ok, well what time is this ceremony as I have school” I said as he smiled “5pm, in the great hall” he said before leaving. The next day went fast; I listened in on Mrs. Krilos class as we talked about the future, “What do you all want to do when your older?” she asked as she looked over the class, “I want to be a hero and be a leader of a big strong pack” Jake said sounding confident, “I would like to be famous” Brad said he looked at the map “What about you aura?” Brad said looking at me, “The Island, I want to visit all the islands and be the first person to go to them all” I said as they looked at me “Not be a hero and slay everything?” Jake asked curiously “I will go the underground route and slay more beasts than anybody, I would then take all their treasure and set up my own house on a remote island” I said smiling as they looked at me “What about your family, what about us?” Brad asked with added emphasis on the ‘us’ “Well I would come visit but I want to explore and see the world, if you think you could keep up your welcome to come with me” I said as everybody laughed. Break time quickly came and went as I walked into Mr. Bow’s class and up to Mike as he grinned excitedly “Ok, if I’m training with you, I don’t want you hitting me full whack as I want to survive” I said as he nodded, people we soon gathering to watch as even an elder came to watch my training, “I was thinking about Bear’s with their maces as when they swing, the mace carries on dragging their body around, so I want you to spin your body with your shield out like this” I said moving his arm, “So when you spin the momentum and power of your swing would knock the person it connects with over” I said stepping in front of him, “Now I figured this could be used in several different situation, maybe if somebody sneaks up behind you, you can swing your shield hitting them” I said as we did that one first as we did a few practice swung each one knocking into me making me stagger. “Now, I want you to spin as fast as you can once” I said as he swung his body in around to face me again “So if in front of you and your push me with your shield, but I don’t fall down, this should give you enough time to swing your body round making the shield hit me” I said as he did it as I went crashing into the floor “Ow” I said rubbing my cheek as I stood up again, “This would work fighting beasts as you can slam their head to the side revealing their neck to you and you can get a quick stab in there before going back to your defensive position” I said as he practiced on a few wolves. “Any more techniques” Mike asked as I looked to him, “Yeah one more, basically this would be a torturous death as once you knock them to the ground, place the shield on their neck so you’re standing above their head, the shield would stop their arms from reaching round, whilst the weight of the shield would stop their airflow killing them slowly” I said as he looked at me, “But nobody is practicing that with you” I said as he nodded “Oh here’s one, how low can you crouch down?” I asked as he bent down low as the shield rested on the floor, “I was thinking when people charge your if you crouch low and tilt the shield back so it covers your back your could flip them over your shield taking out their legs” I said as the elders looked shocked at this idea, “So basically Jake you run at Mike and Mike when he gets closer duck down cover your back with the shield and pushed into his legs once you connected to the legs lift the bottom of the shield” I said as they started, Jake ran towards Mike and only a few feet away Mike dropped down pushed forward pushing Jakes feet out from under him then lifting up as Jae spun in the air before crashing on the ground, everybody cheered as Mike went back to help up Jake “Ok, that’s all I could think of but I will let you know, I also have thought up some wolf ones today watching this” I said walking away sitting down rubbing my jaw where Mike hit me. “Sorry about the jaw, the spun got stronger as it went round” he said as I smiled “that’s the momentum, just swing hard and fast when I want to hurt them” I said as he nodded “She’s a genius” a rat said as they watched from the shadows, “Yeah we know but should we tell Shaw about this?” another rat asked as they watched “No, leave him to guess” the leader said as they continued to watch me. “Hey aura, got any techniques for bears?” Brad asked as he held his large 2 handed mace on his shoulder “You know when you spin your mace and it drags you round” I said as he nodded, “Well, try to keep spinning but take a step towards your opponent as the added momentum and the step means your will hit them plus it will be stronger, but trying it against Mike so you don’t hurt anybody” I said as he nodded “so remember if your swing misses, spin round hard and step closer” I said summing it up as I watched, I stepped up to Mike who hand his shield ready as Brad swung, missing his swing he spun his body around stepping closer as the mace slammed into Mike sending him flying across the courtyard into the wall of the school as everybody gasped “Maybe not that powerful in practice next time” I said laughing we I went to check on Mike “You ok Mike?” I asked as he stood up “I’m fine but the shield isn’t” He said holding up his broken shield as parts were hanging loosely after that impact, “That’s good brad but in a fight you have to be quick as during the swing your exposing your back and that makes your weak, “I got another one for you if you’re ready but your practicing on a tree” I said laughing as he nodded, “Basically the same thing but if the target is more than a few steps away, why don’t you try letting go of the mace during the spin, let it fly off mace first into the target, then when the target would be on the floor you can pick up the mace and carry on” I said, “So when spinning I want you to release your grip just before it’s facing the tree so he flies off and hits it” I said as he nodded, everybody backed away for this as Brad swung his mace and as his spun around he let go as the mace went flying off hitting the edge of the tree as it rebounded skidding against the ground as we watched the tree start to fall. Running over I picked up a smaller mace as I slammed it into the tree in the hole brad made as the weight stabilised and the tree stopped bending looking like it was going to fall. “We will work on your aim” I said smiling walking back to them, “What did you do with the mace?” Mr. Bow said looking at me, “The hole in the tree from brads mace caused the weight to be uneven as the tree started to fall, so I balanced the weight, I presumed you would rather lose one mace than have to rebuild the school when the tree hit it” I said as he nodded. “Anyway, Class dismissed” Mr. Bow said as everybody left “Aura” the elder who was watching said speaking up “How did you know about all those techniques?” He asked looking at me, “Everybody fight’s like a war, all out aggression, the strongest and quickest wins but I’m quick and agile. I dodge and evade revealing open spots in the opponent, I noticed the momentum problem a while back as Brad’s powerful swings took him off balance when they missed me, so I thought about it and thought of a way to improve it” I said as he nodded, “Everybody thinks that to win you have to be the biggest and strongest, Brad’s strong but that hit he gave Mike using momentum doubled his power in the swing, so I’m using strength and agility” I continued as he listened, “Have you got techniques for all classes?” he asked, I’ve been thinking of a few ones for wolves but hawks and rats have it pretty much sussed out, and I can’t think of any major improvements” I said as he nodded, “Would you consider, training the elf army in the future?” he asked looking at me, “Not an army, but if anybody shows significant talent I will train them, so if maybe a bear was born that was the world’s biggest and he was in the army I would train him and teach him everything I know on combat, but as you can see my techniques can make and average person very strong” I said as he nodded “But not until I’m an adult” I said after him as he walked away, unsure he heard me I head back to the others to enjoy break time. “Thanks for showing us that Aura” Brad said as he stood next to Troy who since the spiders have become great friends, “If you two train hard and get stronger and tougher, I can see you two being a great hero team in the future” I said as their smiles beamed confidence. “Ok Class, in you come” Mrs. Krilo as we all stepped in to see the elder sat in the back corner watching, “Elder Kon is here to monitor our class make sure were all as brain as we should be” Mrs. Krilo said as we all thought nothing more of it, “So who can tell me, what the basic’s are to surviving in the wild” she said as she looked over the class “Armour, weapons, food, shelter, warmth” Mike said counting them out as Mrs. Krilo nodded “Exactly, now who can tell me what the best food to eat on your first night out is?” She asked again eyeing the class “Bread and meat” Jake said sounding proud “Yes, now who can tell my why?” Mrs. Krilo said as everybody went quiet “Because Meat and Bread give you lots of energy and you don’t know how long it is before you eat again” I said speaking up as Mrs. Krilo nodded “Correct, now what’s the best sort of shelter?” looking out over the class people were think hard before putting their hands up “It used to be a cave, but I’m not sure anymore” Troy said as everybody looked to him and then back to Mrs. Krilo “It depends on who you are?” I said as everybody turned to me, “I mean, myself and hawks can rest in trees under cover from the canopy, Bears have more body mass and are warmer so they could sleep in the open but would typically stay in a cave, Wolves could stay in caves but a pack could all huddle up together and share warmth as it radiates throughout the pack as they bunch up together” I said as Mrs. Krilo nodded looking happy, “Good, now who knows how to make a fire?” she asked again as everybody went quiet again “I’m not sure of the type but don’t you put some dried wood in a pile and hit two stones together which cause a spark lighting the wood” I said nervously guessing my answer “Yes, and the stones are flint and steel” she said before continuing on, “So if you left around lunch time for a week long explore, what would you do on the first day?” she asked “Go explore and find a shelter, eat the food your brought then relax and go hunting the next day” Jake said proud with his answer, “Leave home with supplies like food, go hunting on the first day and find shelter, eat what I caught then pack up what I didn’t eat and put it with my supply food, to be used on days that I couldn’t catch anything so I don’t starve” I said as people listened to my ideas, “good plan, now can anybody tell me why you don’t want to be starving when exploring?” She asked as people looked confused “Because you will die?” Troy said confused “Yes but before that?” Mrs. Krilo said “When you’re starving, you have less energy because you haven’t eaten... less energy means it’s harder to hunt and if it gets too hard you would die” I said as she nodded again. “Your class seems to be very capable, I don’t need to monitor you anymore” The elder said standing up heading to the door “Ok thank you elder” Mrs. Krilo said as he stepped out leaving us. “Ok now who can tell me, what spying looks like?” Mrs. Krilo asked as we all burst out laughing. The rest of the day went fairly quietly as we just discussed the different races. After school I headed home as I placed my dagger in my room as I did my homework and talked with mum until it was about 4:50pm, “come on then mum, let’s go to this ceremony” I said as we got up and headed down the road to the Great Hall, the streets were empty which was weird as I could hear a large murmuring coming from within the great hall, I saw the elder at the front as he let my mum in but he escorted me to the side entrance, stepping forward I found myself at the side of the stage as he looked out the side at the crowd “Wait here till I call you” He said calmly as he stepped out onto the stage walking to the podium in the middle. “We all know of Aura’s feat with the spiders and of the snake, but unfortunately there is no treasure to give to Aura, but with the help of Joey and his team as well as our blacksmiths we hope this will show our gratitude for the efforts Aura has done” He said, “Here is the city’s newest hero, aura” the Elder said as I stepped out onto the stage as everybody applauded me, I looked nervous but I felt scared, all those faces watching me I just wanted to run away and hide but I know I had to go through with this. “Would Matka and Ribva please come out and show aura your work” the elder said again as they stepped up onto the stage dragging out two chests, one each, as they brought them to the middle of the stage as they stood behind their own chest. “Matka, you can go first” the elder said as Matka stepped forward “Aura has already brought me the snake fangs as we turned one into a sword and the other into a dagger, but we were lucky enough to scavenge the bodies of the beasts to find anything that we could use. So for you, I give you this weapons chest full of weapons made from the beasts” Matka said opening the chest revealing dozens of weapons inside, “Several daggers from the pincers of the spiders, and two swords from the largest spider” He said picking them up and showing them to the crowd, “also from the strongest rib of the snake, I made this bow for you as I heard you are very skilled with it” he said pulling up the white bone bow, which was very beautiful and strong as he had engraved the outside. “Wow, thank you” I said holding the bow as It was still a bit big for me “I planned them so they would fit your adult body so they would last a lifetime” he said as I thanked him again, “And Ribva” the elder said as I rushed to the other side as he opened up the chest, “The idea’s came from Joey so you have him to thank as well” He said in his ruff voice as he held up a few pieces “All of them designed to fit your adult body, we have bracers made from the spare snake fang” he said as I thanked him graciously “After hearing Matka made a bow, I made over 100 arrows with the head made from the spine, all fully made and ready to use” he said proudly as he looked through the chest “I also made a sword using a rib” he said pulling out the sword, which was crazy It was curved like a normal rib but it was he craved the entire thing, the hilt was the part of the bone as he engraved it to make it look beautiful, but the crazy part was the blade part, he made each side have jagged points all sharpened to perfection and it look pearly white and obviously glossed with something to keep it like that “Wow, that’s awesome” I said holding out the sword as the crowd ‘Ooohed’ and ‘Awed’ throughout it all. “Thank you every so much” I said grinning as they packed it away “You’ve earned it” Elder Joseph said as people watched us “That concludes this ceremony, have a pleasant day” Elder Joseph said as the hall started to empty. “Thank you for this, it was great” I said talking to him on stage as Matka and Ribva walked off with the chests. “They will take them to your house” The elder said following my line of sight watching the two blacksmiths. I left the great hall as my mum waited for me by the front doors “That was nice of them” my mum said as I got close to her, “Yeah it was” I said opening the door as we headed out back into the city. “Hey, Aura” Joey said walking up to me as his team waited outside, “Hey Joey thanks for everything” I said being polite “Don’t worry, I just gave ideas, anyway were going to head off and go home, but I would like to meet you again sometime in the future” He said nicely as he knelt down “I would love to, but I doubt you will see me until I’m at least 18 and finished school” I said looking down “Well, when school is over I look forward to meeting you if you go travelling” He said standing up as he walked back to his team “Bye” I said waving as they turned and walked away. “Nice kid” Joey said to his team as they walked down the road towards the city gates, “Yeah, I can’t wait to see how strong she is in her adult body” Salina said as they walked. Heading home I walked into my house and up the stairs passing the two chests in the lounge as I headed to bed. Days started returning back to normal, I went+9 to school and trained but no beasts came out the tunnel as soon days of boredom turned into months which quickly became years. As school got progressively harder I got focused mainly on the subjects I like such as Plantology, Blacksmithing, and Alchemy and fight class. Over the years I learnt all about the plants and what they can do how they are used, and where each plant might grow depending on the conditions. Blacksmithing was fun as I was group with Matka who taught me everything he knew about making items especially weapons, and alchemy was ok just so I knew how to make healing potions and potions that did cool tricks, I managed to perfect a potion that made you invisible which was fun. Fight class, I didn’t learn much as I just practiced whilst teaching people the techniques I thought up, we had practice sparring fights which I always won but fights between a bear and tortoise lasted hours as the bear learnt to move and attack whilst tortoises learned to dodge instead of just taking the hit. Mike was the first tortoise ever to win a fight as he managed to keep taking out the wolves pinning them down and tripping them up, he made his family proud as we became good friends. Mikes skin became tougher as he got taller and stronger as he was swinging his shield around slamming into people taking them off and occasionally knocking them out. Brad also grew up, around the age of 15 he hit a growth spurt and grew massively and by the age of 17 which we all were, he was around 14ft tall and still growing, and his fighting was epic. I trained Jake, Brad and Mike the most not really giving lessons to hawks and rats, as Brad could lift nearly triple what he used to and he strength made him a dangerous opponent, I helped train brad as he got better aim and was throwing two handed maces around like they were twigs all on point and fatally accurate, his strength with my training meant he was a good match for any adult bear and often beat the adults in fights when trying to prove himself as a bear to his parents who were immensely proud of their son. We had turned into a little team Me, Mike, Brad and Jake as Jake was our leader. He was always good at making decisions and easily led us together in the right path, although his old pack of wolves weren’t happy Jake was the best of all of them as we became our own pack. Jake had grown up massively nearly reaching 9ft tall, he was taller than most normal elves but his was strong to match it, big and bulky he brought fear into the hearts of his opponents. With my training I told Jake to always carry three swords, although he was confused at this I said you could create a holder that goes on the back like a quiver. I taught him that getting to angry makes you worse as your rage makes you careless and easily to trick putting you in a disadvantage, he always kept two swords at his sides started with an empty hand and a sword. I taught him that a shield just deflects and two swords just parries but using your hand you can disarm taking his sword and using it against him, I taught Jake several disarming techniques and different ways to overpower your opponent in ways they wouldn’t expect. I had changed dramatically over my teenage years, my body grew slightly taller as I hit 6ft but my figure stayed perfect never any fat from my days of training, my flexibility somehow got better as well as my strength as I could jump 20ft high from the floor not moving. My hair grew longer as my face matured and I became really very beautiful which the boy’s liked, over the years I’d grown to love wearing the leather clothes as I made more from various leathers Matka could get me as, like always, they were strips of leather tied around me with black string. I made various designs of clothing but it usually was leather trousers and a leather vest, which worked well against my darkening body as I matured and my skin grew dark fur like the wolves did. My fur was becoming a dark blue to black colour much like a panthers, my claws grew to match my body as they sharpened as well but I quickly found a way to retract my claws because I was getting sick of tearing everything trying to pick it up. My face stayed normal except for the growing, my fur short laying flat showing my facial features as my cat ears poked through the top of my hair, which was know down to the middle of my back. I, Jake, Brad and Mike became great friends as we sort of turned into our little team, when lessons turned to practices and surviving we had tasks to survive outside in the forest for three days. Tomorrow was another survival test which we always aced but not It was to be outside the mountains in the real wild, people were nervous but we weren’t we were psyched and ready for it. “Why can’t tomorrow come any quicker, I want to go explore and see what’s out there” Jake said getting antsy as the school day was drawing to the end, “Ok you can go, but be back here at 9am tomorrow to start your survival test” Mr. Rihra our Alchemy teacher said as we all left the class bored and impatient. “Hey, want to go check out the tunnel” Brad offered as he too couldn’t wait to see what was out there “Sure, come on Mike” I said as he walked next to me, heading down the road Jake and Brad soon got too impatient as they broke into a run trying to get there first as Jake quickly over took Brad, who countered by tripping Jake up laughed as he ran past. I walked with Mike as he laughed at them, “So what do you think is out there?” Mike asked not with fear but curiosity, “Anything and everything” I said as he smiled, A good thing about being seventeen was we were allowed weapons in school as training was a big part and we were taught to make our own armour, I always had my bone bow and dagger on me as well as a pincer dagger, whilst I gave Brad made one hell of a dangerous mace. He made it big as he was big and it was nearly double the size of most maces but I gave him a few ideas as the mace was large but then carved down leaving it covered in stone spikes, I gave Jake one of my Pincer swords as he made two more swords so he had three. Mike was getting gear up big time; he had a 8ft long shield to go with his 7ft height, and was the biggest shield in the city. But he trained with it and has perfected his use of it; I gave him a few ideas on it as the shield is curved protecting him further and long as Mikes new favourite thing was to run into people taking them out flipping them into the air. His shield also covered in metal spikes which are very sharp, Mike was still making his armour as he had made his chest, shoulders and helmet but was still working on his legs and boots as well as gloves. Me and Mike finally caught up with Brad and Jake as they sat panting “Ok you guys, keep the peace” I said as they were trading some lightly mock punches to each other, it was a weird situation even though Jake was our leader and new best nobody disobeyed me as I was the best fighter out of all of them and I could take them all on and win. “I’ve been thinking and everything has a fear mechanise, for example Bears are big to make other feel small and weak as you can overpower, wolves hunt in numbers to create fear but I was thinking about a roar” I said as they looked at me, “I’m sorry this doesn’t really effect you Mike, but Bears roar loudly, wolfs growl menacingly and I make that weird panther sound, but hearing a panther sound come from me is enough to make people think twice and back down” I said as they agreed “So why don’t we practice, you can judge Mike” I said laughing as he dropped his shield and sat down by a tree. Clearing my throat I roared my cat roar as the sound travelled throughout the forest as the others clapped in applause, going next brad stood tall roaring deafeningly as even I felt a bit scared “Ooh I got shivers” I said as Brad stopped as we all clapped again, Jake going next he got down on all four as growled but nothing came out, he tried again but again nothing “I can’t do it” he said sounded sad “Wolfs are very instinctive, I doubt you could do it on command like us but will happen in the moment” I said as he agreed, “My turn” Mike said to our surprise as he got up and started going “Arghgh” whilst running round in circles waving his arms around, nearly instantly we all burst out laughing as he stopped “Too scary” he said laughing as he sat down again next to us. We stayed out for a few hours talking and messing around before heading back in for food as being bigger we ate more especially brad who ate tonnes of food. “Ok, guys see you tomorrow morning” I said leaping up onto a roof heading back to my house as they all went their separate ways. I woke up bright and early the next day as I quickly got dressed climbing onto my roof and leaping across the city to wake up my friends, over the years they learnt to keep their bedroom windows unlocked as I would often pop in, Mike was closest as I burst through his window shaking him away “Get up Mike, get dressed lets go” I shouted as him rolling him out of bed as I climbed out the window to Jake’s house. I leapt over streets sticking to the roofs as I again climbed into jakes room as he was just getting up rubbing his eyes. I quickly jumped onto his bed jumping on Jake as he groaned “I’m up, get off” he groaned at me as I laughed “Come on test day today” I said climbing out the window and heading over to Brads. He was the hardest to wake up as when I jumped into his room I found him in his usually deep sleep, climbing up I jumped on him and bounced on him but nothing, walking down to his feet I brought out my claws as I scratched his foot “Ow!” he shouted waking up as I looked up from his feet “Come on sleepy get up” I said to him as he groaned rolling out of bed to put on his armour, he rolled out of bed revealing himself as I quickly closed my eyes “Ummm Brad” I said as he looked over at my holding my hands over my eyes “Oh, sorry, I’ve outgrown them all already” he said as he sat back down in bed “Your safe” he said as I peeked over my eyes to see him sat in his bad with his sheet over his lap “Ok, see you in school sleepy” I said climbing out his window before heading off to the pole in the crossroads everybody passed on the way to school. I waited for a few minutes as I saw Mike meet up with Jake on the path as Brad came down another as we all grouped up at the pole, before heading into school together talking usually about my rude awakening “She scratched my foot again” brad said as everybody laughed “Well you sleep through me jumping and bouncing on you” I said as they all laughed again “she rolled me out of bed and I face planted the floor” Mike said as we all laughed again “one day, you’re going to sleep in and were going to jump on you, see how you like it” Jake said as I giggled, arriving at school we meet with Mr. Bow running the survival test as he went through the rules “Ok class, you can either do this alone or in groups but you have to remain out there for 3 nights and comeback, you must come back fully fed as if you starve for the duration you fail. Also no venturing too far as we don’t want to be sending out search parties” he said as we all laughed “Ok, now go explore” setting us free as we all headed towards the city gates “I mean, all this talk of going out and I’m a bit nervous on what’s out there” I said as we walked down the path “Same, but whatever nothing could take us out. But I wouldn’t mind slaying a big beast and bringing back some treasure just to show off” Mike said as we all laughed “Everybody else passes and was pass a few thousand gold richer” Jake said chuckling as we laughed at his joke. “So what do you want to eat?” I asked as we left the city and entered the forest as we headed towards the tunnel leading through the mountains “I know what might be out there but I wouldn’t mind something exotic. We’ve lived 17 years on cow, pig and bread, I wouldn’t mind tasting something different” Brad said rubbing his belly which was always hungry “Well we will see what’s out there” I said as we reached the tunnel. We saw all the other kids there ahead of us nervous to take the first step as we just walked straight through fearless as we took the lead as they soon started to follow us through. Walking through the tunnel we all got a bit excited as the light from the other end appeared as we saw lots of trees and grass and a few guards, “Good luck” they said as we passed them leading out into the open, walking for a bit longer we ventured of the path as we found several different animals like horses and sheep roaming free “Fancy some lamb Brad” I said tapping his belly as we all laughed at him as he just licked his lips. “So where are we heading?” I asked looking to Jake who was looking around, “We have 4days and 3 nights, I say we find some food and find some shelter today then venture further tomorrow” Jake said as we all agreed, “I’m going to go track down something tasty for us” I said as Jake nodded watching me climb up into the tree and run across the branches jumping from tree to tree a head of them. Listening out I found a large cave in a hill which I found was empty as nearby I a few sheep which weren’t much of a challenge to hunt, clawing at their necks they quickly bled out as I carried them back to the cave. Four sheep later I thought that was a good start as I roared my loud panther roar as my team quickly found me stood at the entrance of the cave with four dead bloodied sheep inside, “Man your quick” Jake said impressed as we all sat down, “That’s our food, I’m going to get Brad something tasty now” I said smiling as I ran out jumping of the trunks of tree gradually jumping higher as I jumped onto a branch and ran out of their site. “Why did she pick here, it’s pretty close to home?” Mike asked they sat down in the cave “Maybe she’s hoping a beast will burst in” Jake said chuckling as they started shedding the wool of the fat sheep “Keep the wool, proof we hunted and survived, plus I bet aura will make something with it” Brad said as he used his claw to shave the sheep in his hands. Out in the forested I found a lake as I took a quick drink, listening for sounds of any animals I heard screaming coming from me left as I sprinted towards the screaming, I rounded the corner of the trees as I spotted a small house with a women screaming as a huge salamander was trapping her garden trying to get to the women who was running away. I ran towards the lizard as I grabbed a bit of branch of the floor as I jumped onto the lizard as it tried to shake me off, placing the branch in its mouth I stopped it from biting as he arched his spine trying to lose me but I held onto the branch in his mouth keeping me up, bringing his head down I punched him in the head stopping him in his tracks as I then kicked it in the neck as it started moving forward. Like a horse I twisted the branch turning the beasts head as he walked past the other people doing the test “Giddy up” I shouted as people looked in shock at me riding a huge lizard. Turning the beast I made it head towards the cave as it walked up to the entrance of the cave, pulling hard on the branch pulling the lizards head back the salamander stopped as he turned to the side “You wanted exotic right?” I asked Brad as he looked up at me on the lizard shocked, I quickly pulled out my bone dagger as I stabbed it in the head killing him instantly as he fell to the ground outside the cave. “Jesus your just too good” Mike said looking at the lizard, “Remember when you wanted to show off to the others, well I rode this beast straight through them as they just looked in shock, so I doubt anybody will be able to top that” I said laughing as Jake pulled out his sword cutting off the leg of the salamander, “We got a fire going, while you were gone so let’s get cooking” he said as he tied the leg to the spit which had just finished cooking the lamb as we all took mouthfuls of lamb as Brad had already eaten an entire sheep. As the night came we kept the fire going as brad was still demolishing the salamander “Ugh” brad said getting our attention “I’m so full, I can’t take another bite” he said as we all laughed “So the stomach does end” I said as we all laughed harder as he threw the remainder of his leg at me, “Hey Jake, this you could slice the head of, take it back as a prize” I said as he quickly nodded “With you around aura, none of us are going hungry” Jake said as he rubbed his swollen belly which cause as all to laugh “If we find another salamander, I’m keeping it as a pet, he was fun to ride” I said as everybody laughed at me “I want to see how long he lasts as a pet before brad eats him” Mike said as Brad laughed, “Anyway let’s get some rest, we got some exploring to do tomorrow” Jake said as we all lay down by the fire drifting off into satisfied sleep. Morning came with the sounds of bird song and sunshine as the fire had died in the night, waking up first I went outside to check the weather as it was clear blue skies, not a cloud in sight. “Wake up” I shouted comically as I rolled over Jake and Mike as I kicked Brad in the butt as they all woke up “No matter where we go, you can always count on Aura to wake us up rudely” Mike said arching his back “Argh, I miss my comfy bed” Jake said stretching standing up “Come on lazy there’s a whole island to try and explore” I said loudly as they woke up. Walking out I examined what was left of the Salamander which wasn’t much after brad, but I pulled out a few claws as I placed the head in the bag, going down his spine I broke off a few spikes placing them in a separate bag with the claws as I eyed his body. “Do you want to leave it here, or bring it with us?” I asked as they were all up and ready now “Leave it, here I would rather explore not carrying Brad’s lunch” Jake said as we all chuckled at this as we pushed the now considerably lighter salamander into the back of the cave. Leaving it there we headed off going down the route I took we came across the lady “You ok now?” I asked her as she looked at me “You just rode that beast like it was a horse” she said shocked “Made a great dinner too” I said chuckling as I rubbed my belly whilst the lady giggled at this, “Next time, don’t run but try and hit its eyes, the most painful place on the body, if you hurt him he should leave you alone” I said as she nodded thanking me, “Do you have any rope I could possibly have?” I asked as she nodded rushing off bring back some looped rope as I thanked her walking off with the team “What’s the rope for?” Jake asked looking at me carry the rope on my belt “If we find another one, I will tie the rope around the head and we can ride it as much as we like while exploring, all this walking doesn’t sound great” I said as he grinned back at me. Walking was slow and boring as we checked out the sites finding other camps with remains of dead sheep and cows scattered, “amateurs” I said loudly as we passed a camp as my team laughed, we continued to explore finding springs and the beach as we saw people messing around in the water. Venturing further was found some large caves which we explored finding nothing inside we quickly left, walking out I heard a faint sound “Wait stop” I said listening out “I hear screaming, this way” I shouted as I ran off sprinting through the trees as I found another classmate trying to get away from a larger salamander as his weapon was clearly knocked way. Jumping onto the lizard I climbed up onto its head as I wrapped the rope around its mouth holding it closed as like the last time the best rolled around shaking its head trying to rid me from its head but the rope held fast and I held to the rope as I landed back on his head as my young classmate looking up in shock and awe as I wrestled this beast, looking behind me I saw brad run up to help “Pin it down” I shouted as he jumped at the neck pulling his head down to the ground, I stroked the lizards heard as he calmed down, “Climb on” I said as I watched my team climb on as I tapped the lizards neck as he walked forward with me steering. “I don’t know about you guys but I thought this survival test would be harder” I said giggling as they chuckled, “This one’s bigger” Mike said as Brad just looked happy. Travelling on the lizard was much easier now as we passed some more explores and even went down to the beach to show off some more, as we headed back through the forest going way faster than the other people “Is that Miron over there” I said pointing to the large building in the distance as we headed down the path “Should we visit the human city, I’ve never seen normal humans before” Mike said as we quickly altered our route towards the city, was passed some locals and humans guards as they looked at us like we were mad which was a brilliant feeling, “I bet none of the humans ever thought about riding a Salamander” I thought to myself as we reached the city gates, “Halt, what’s your business in Miron” the guard said as I stopped the lizard “Were from Salphasis, were on a 3 night survival test and we saw your city, we’ve never been before and wanted a look” I said honestly as he looked at me “And your riding a Salamander?” he asked, “Well I killed the last one, and this is much quicker and more fun than walking” I said giggling as he laughed letting me in “Thank you, enjoy your visit” he said to us as we walked in slower as the lizard clearly looked on edge. Calming the lizard down we walked into the trade centre, people looked scared and nervous seeing the lizard as other people looked amazed at us riding it so easily. I stopped in the middle of the trade centre as I turned to Jake, “Take the rope... Brad, throw me up so I can see what there is here” I said as he nodded with this being a move we came up with several months ago, giving Jake the ropes I jumped over him landing next to brad as he climbed off, placing my feet in his hands he threw me up fast as I shot over 50feet into the air spinning and looking around, flipping a few times I landed on Brads held out hand as the locals clapped. Walking through the locals with the lizard I looked up to brad “There’s a lake over there and a large green area but it mainly just this area and housing plus a construction area over there” I said pointing to each area as he guided the lizard to the lake, “Hey you!” a large voice boomed as I turned back to see a large human bear being about 13ft tall staring down at me “Look, I’m only in my teen body as well all our but we could still kick your ass, so sit down before I seat you” I said as he laughed, “your nothing but a weakling, worst wolf I’ve ever seen” he said as people laughed as My team laughed hard, “Oh I’m now wolf” I said as I jumped onto his shoulders, he reached up but I pulled his arms down behind his head as I ran under his legs dropping him to the floor as the crowd looked shocked “I’m a panther, so stay down” I said walking away “I don’t care if you’re a panther, nobody does that to me” He shouted, “Brad... he’s all yours” I said as brad grinned being taller than the human he dropped his huge mace off his shoulder catching it as I spun, the human stepped back laughing as Brad continued his swing stepping forward as It connected with the humans ribs, hearing the crack I cringed as I watched the human go flying back into the wall leaving a large dent as he landed on the floor coughing up blood. Walking over to him I tilted a rejuvenation potion into him as he started to heal up “Now, let this be a lesson... don’t start fights you can’t handle” I said stepping away leaving him as his ribs fixed themselves. “Let’s go” I said as brad and I climbed back onto the Salamander as we walked through the city to the lake, going pass the people was fun as we like the odd attention of people being shocked, we arrived at the lake as we got off the lizard to stretch our legs as the Salamander went to get a drink as we let go of the rope, I watched as he didn’t run but just went to get a drink as we saw people start to gather around us “Hello trouble, I heard rumour a panther was in town and she and a bear just beat up Gormon” Joey said walking up behind me “Hello, these guys were in my class were a official team now” I said proudly as he nodded, “And your riding Salamanders, aren’t you brave” Joey said as he looked over at the lizard “Beats walking” I said as he chuckled “Indeed, what brings you to Miron, aren’t you still in school” he asked looking at us all “Yeah were on a 3 night Survival test, but we got bored of walking and travelling faster we thought we would check out the human city” I said as he nodded listening intently, “Any of you adult form yet?” he said we all shook our heads “Wow, is that your brad?” Joey asked stepping over to brad “I remember you being a lot shorter” Joey said as we all chuckled, “Still growing” Brad said in his deep voice as he stood over Joey by a good few feet, “So how long you staying here?” Joey asked looking back at me “Not long, were meant to be surviving the terrors of the wild, so we will probably go explore and find some food” I said jokingly as Joey laughed “Slaying snakes and riding Salamanders, seems like the wild is trying to survive you” Joey said as I blushed at the compliment, “So is there anything to do in your city?” I asked as he looked up thinking for a moment “For you, not really. Maybe come back when school is over and you can check out our blacksmiths and we have a lot of quests to be picked up as so many people think they can be heroes but don’t make it” Joey said as we stepped back “Well, I have to go. I was preparing to leave for a quest when I heard you were in town” he said saying his goodbyes “Ok well, good luck” I said as he waved goodbye and walked off. “Come on aura, this city is dull. let’s go” Jake said as they all climbed on the Salamander, “Ok, let’s make some fun, race you back to the gates” I said as he laughed kicking the lizards side of the head as he ran off into the city. Sprinting fast I jumped onto the a nearby post as I jumped onto a roof as I sprinted across the city roof’s, I saw Jake laughing below as I jumped of the street and over the corner her had to turn out as I jumped down sprinting ahead of Jake towards the city gates, In the last few seconds he overtook me as he pulled back going to a grinding halt as I climbed on “Ok you win” I said panting as Jake just had the biggest grin I’ve ever seen on his face. Sitting down and relaxing against Brad we continued to explore at a slower pace as the lizard walked down the path into the forest, the day soon left us as it started getting dark. Finding a cave we tied up the Salamander as Jake and Brad said they would go get tonight’s food, so me and Mike set up a fire, we were lucky as soon after we gathered enough wood is started raining. I sat in the cave trying to warm up as the temperatures quickly dropped as the cave felt unsafe, I was looked around when I saw remnants of somebody else being here “Mike, this cave has been used recently” I said pointed to the things I found “Look what we have here boys” a rough voice said behind me as I turned to see about twelve wolves watching me, “Let’s take her back to Max, he likes the pretty ones” one of them said as they jumped on me grabbing my wrist and ankles they piled my limb outstretched as I struggled to move as the rest of the wolves piled onto Mike holding him down long enough to get me away, seconds before I was gagged I let out a loud panther roar they just laughed then gagged me. Running back to the cave Jake found Mike waiting in the cave “What happened?” Jake said firmly “Wolves jumped me and took Aura, she couldn’t get away from them” he said as he looked out to the forest, “I smell them, but the rains washing it away, let’s go quickly” Jake said following the smell of me down through the forest. “Here boss, look what we found” The wolves said throwing me to the ground as I sprinted forward charging their leader putting my claws to his neck. “What do you want?” I shouted at them, “I want you” he said as I felt a punch to my side as I went flying into the wall, looking up a saw a large human bear flexing his fist as I realised he just punched me. Staggering to my feet, I stepped up to the human as he laughed at me. “Do you really think, you can beat a panther” I said as he stopped moving “You’re a panther?” the leader said standing up “Yeah, and your and idiot” I said as I turned climbing up the wall and jumping onto the hanging chandelier “You shouldn’t of given me time to recover” I said looking down at him. I roared loudly as the sound echoed throughout the cave as wolves were looking up at me. Outside Jake heard my roar as they ran towards the cave, running inside Mike ran low as he tripped up loads of wolves and Brad and Jake tore through them, swords and maces swinging as the twelve wolves quickly when done to just a few as they stopped to look for me jumping down I was quickly snatched up by the bear as he gripping his hand around my throat, “Leave now or she dies” the leader of the wolves said as I could hear Jake growling loudly as he looked to Brad and nodded, I watched in awe as Brad swung his mace letting go as it fire straight at me, I quickly lifted my body as the mace went under me into the large bear as he let go of me and went flying into to the wall, pulling out my second dagger I ran and slit the bears throat as I turn and watched Jake decapitate the leader. “Thank you guys so much” I said running over giving them a hug as Brad quickly went and picked up his mace as I picked up my bone dagger which I had dropped to the floor, picking up the head of the leader Jake walked out, as we quickly followed him out heading back to our cave. “Did they do anything to you aura?” Mike asked as we sat back down in the cave “No, but I took a big hit to the ribs have we got any potions?” I asked as Mike pulling out a small vial from his bag he left in the cave as I quickly drunk it all. “Look let’s eat the lizard as we need to keep up our strength” I said as Jake nodded, I watched him going outside as he pulled the lizard to the mouth of the cave before thrusting his sword up into the roof of the lizard mouth killing it before cutting the head of and placing it in the bag. Cutting off arms and legs we eat the lizard regaining our strength as Brad ate most of it, and by the time we finished it wasn’t much more than a skeleton with the organs on the floor. “I think we should head back tomorrow, as we might not be able to get another ride” I said undoing the rope from the dead lizard putting it back on my belt, we didn’t stay up for long as we all quickly drifted off to sleep, walking around I climbed onto Brad as he lay on his belly as I fell asleep on his warm back. The morning was different as I was woken up by falling from Brads back as he jumped up as Mike, Jake and Brad all laughed at me, “I said we would get you back” Jake said as I rubbed my eyes, “Ok, well let’s see if there is anything we can use from this lizard” I said looking over the skeleton. I took all the claws plus a few of the large spikes on its spine, we started walking back the route we came towards home as soon our feet started to ache slightly as brad was carrying his mace and the head whilst I carried all the bits I wanted plus the wool whilst Mike carried the remaining food and Jake directed us home. “What time do we have to be back tomorrow?” I asked as they looked at me, “If it’s a school test I presume before 3pm” Jake said as we walked past Miron. We walked for most of the day as I managed to wrangle some sheep with the rope as they walked with us; we found a small pond as we went to get a drink as wash up a bit. “ahhhhhh” a women screamed from down the road, running down I saw her batting at the eyes of a large snake, letting go of the sheep I took the rope and sprinted up the snake tying it’s mouth closed as I called for everybody “Pin it down” I shouted as like last time Brad grabbed the head of the snake pulling him down to the ground holding him there as I looked at the snake, “This dagger belong to a large snake like, now be calm and take us home or this will be your fate” I said looking into the snakes eyes holding up my Fang Dagger as the snake went slack “You talk to snakes?” Brad said looking at me “Worth a try, looks like it paid off” I said as I sat on the snakes head holding the rope, “Go” I said tapped the side of the snake head, slithering forward the travelled home faster than walking but slower than the salamander was, we passed a few people heading home as we spoke to a few “Yeah it’s only 3days not 3 nights” A boy said realising he was late, “Climb aboard” I said as we picked up a few more people along the way, soon we had nearly the whole class we slithered to the mountain and through the tunnel as our teach stood waiting with the rest of the class at the gates to the city. We quickly reached the gates as Mr. Bow looked shocked I was riding a snake, I stayed on as everybody climbed of as I undid the rope, sitting on the snake I pulled out my Fang dagger as I stabbed his head killing him instantly, climbing off I looked at everybody, “Wasn’t going to just let him go was I” I said defensively as my friends laughed “Ok, Now that your all here your next task is to write up what you did on your trip and you will read your adventure out to your class and parents as a end of year presentation” Mr. Bow said as we all looked excited. I went back and pulled out the large fangs as e quickly left running back to Brad’s house as it was the largest as we quickly began writing out report talking about where we went, what we ate and were we rode. After about 3 hours the report was finished as I took it home and went straight to bed, my 3 day adventure was stress full and tiring, I figured I needed a lot more training to do this with ease. The next day we were sent to the great hall as we got the chance to read our report in front of everybody which was fun. Most the class had boring reports saying they saw locals, eat sheep or cow and slept in caves or by the trees, next it was our turn. Walking out to the middle of the stage brad followed me holding the bag of head as Jake to my side with Mike next to Jake “Our survival test started out like everybody else’s a bit nervous and a bit excited as we went out exploring the island, we explored for a bit and found a cave off the path as we made camp, as the guys set up the camp I quickly found about four sheep which I brought back to the cave, but for those who know Brad know that isn’t enough for just him so I went back out looking. After about 10minutes I heard a lady screaming as I went to investigate I found she was being attacked by a Salamander, which I soon realised I couldn’t drag all the way back to the cave, so instead I put a branch in its mouth using it as reins as I rode the Giant lizard back to the camp, passing several students as well” I said proudly as they parents gasped, “Back at the camp we then killed and eat the Salamander which for once filled Brad up completely to the extent that he couldn’t take another bite. In the morning, we travelled day the path I took as I found the women I saved, she thanked me as I asked for some rope which she happily gave us. We continued our travels when we luckily found another Salamander, this time larger. Wrapping the rope around the mouth closing it shut we all rose the salamander around the island passing people on the beach as we quickly found Miron, inside the human city we were met with amazed locals watching us ride the lizard, and after beating up a local who got out of control we headed down to the lake in the city were we met Joey Bronon” I continued as the audience listened, “But we knew we had to survive so after a quick visit just to see the human city for the first time we ventured out further, we found a cave for the night as Jake and Brad when out hunting for food as me and Mike setup the fire... During this time when Brad and Jake were away, a dozen bandit wolves found me and Mike, they pinned Mike down as they carried me off back to their leader. When Brad and Jake got back Mike told them what happened and Jake amazing found me very quickly tracking my scent through the rain, inside the cave I was being offered to the leader and after trying to fight back I was blind-sided by a bear who threw me into a wall. I climbed the wall and hide on the chandelier as Jake, brad and Mike quickly found me killing the dozen wolves, I jumped down to help but the bear caught my holding my by my throat. To my rescue Brad threw his mace at the bear as I lift me waist to avoid being hit as the bear let go of me as he flew into the wall, I quickly killed him and as I stood up I watched Jake behead the leader” I said as Brad lifted up the large wolf’s head. “With us being cold and hungry we headed back to our cave and were forced to eat the Salamander we rode on” I said as Brad held up the larger lizard head, “We then walked back we which long and boring until the met the same women I had first saved fighting a large snake, which we pinned and subdued riding it back so we weren’t too late, we met some class mates along the way so we all rode the snake back, and once home I killed the snake and took his fangs as my prize” I said holding up the fangs “and that was our 3 day adventure” I finished as people looked shocked, soon they all started clapping. “Wow, that’s quite the adventure” Mr. Bow said clapping as we placed the heads back in the bag, “That concluded our presentation, see you kids tomorrow, have a nice day” Mr. Bow said before he walked of stage and presumably back to school, I jumped down as my mum and dad gave me a big hug as I saw my friends with their parents. “Were so proud of you” my father said giving me a kiss on my forehead as my mum just hugged me tighter. Heading home I felt a sudden bit of uneasiness as I fell to the floor clutching my stomach, the pain was like nothing I had ever felt me head hurt like it was being beaten with a mace, my body ached and pulled like I was on a torture rack, I roared loudly in pain which echoed through the cities the sound bouncing off the walls hitting everybody in the ears as they all looked around confused. Jake, Brad and Mike quickly found me as they tried to see what was happening “She’s changing, stand back” Jake shouted as everybody stepped away from my body as my parents and the crowd just watched with interest. I could feel every new fibre grow in my muscles as my trousers started splitting as my ribs were being squashed by my vest “Cover me” I panted as my mum quickly pulled her large robe over me as I clawed at my vest tearing if off before taking a large breathe receiving that much needed oxygen. My skin was stretching as my bones and muscles grew, every nerve in my body was on fire as I writhed on the floor trying to handle the pain whilst trying to keep the robe covering me. I felt my spine grow slightly as my bones realigned, feeling my legs I could tell they had moved again as I lay on the floor in pain in my current position. I lay down now as I put my hand in front of me watching as the bones grew , changing, as my claws came out being longer and sharper now as I placed my hand down and dragged it against the floor in pain making four deep cutting into the stone floor as my hand went across the floor. Looking up I stared at the crowd as the last few changes happened and I could feel my eyes change, people gasped as my once normal human eyes became like that of a cat’s as my eyes shone brightly against the sun. After that 10minute ordeal I felt my body relax as it the change was complete, I looked down on my hands and knees panting as I looked up to my mum, she like all mums knelt down covering my up as we stood up to go home, I just managed to stand up when I heard as roar behind me as I watched Brad fall to the ground, people watched in shock as brad started growing as his mace landing on the floor with a thud as he dropped onto his side hands constantly moving grabbing the areas that hurt, I watched worriedly as he grow taller as he was already nearly 15ft as he just kept growing, I watched his muscles ripple and stretch the skin is they grew. Brad’s hands and feet grew large two as his adults paws formed, I watched as his full stomach started shrinking as his body grew. “Get back” Mr. Bow shouted as people backed away from Brad, “He’s eaten nothing but salamander for two days so if the stories are true he’s going to get bigger” He said again as people gasped in shock, “What stories?” I asked looking over time, “Bear’s use up all food and energy during the change, using the DNA of the food in his stomach to enhance the growth, mostly its cows and pigs for fat and strength, but he’s eaten large salamanders so the DNA is going to change him further” he said out loud as everybody listened, watching Brad we saw him grow, “Your the same Aura, your nearly 7ft now much taller than most females” Mr. Bow said as I looked down at myself. Looking back at brad I saw he had still not stopped growing but his curled up state was stopping people from trying to measure him, he arms hands huge as he could grab me round my waist easily, he arms bigger as they were the size of a normal bear’s waist. After about 15minutes of watching him in pain he stood up as his mother covered him up, standing tall he dwarfed everybody, as at average bear is about 15ft for a elf, but Brad must of been pushing about 20ft and was about a large bear and half wide, his shoulders being wider as he bent down and picked up his huge mace with ease... “I need a new mace” Brad as he picked it up with one hand, as the crowd all laughed. “Brad, let’s go to Matka, I’ll make us some new clothes” I said as he nodded following me whilst holding the torn leg armour around him keeping it up. “Hey, Matka” I shouted as he rounded the corner, looking up at the Brad being huge... “Oh my” he said shocked “Yeah adult forms, have you got any armour or anything that might fit or enough leather for me to make something?” I asked as he looked at us both, “I have your adult armour ready Aura, but nothing that would fit Brad” he said looking around, “I have plenty of leather and cloth, here make something, I will go fetch your armour” he said running off as I got to work. “What sort of armour do you want?” I asked as Brad just shrugged, “Great, now I can make my new design” I said as he smiled back at me. I took measurements struggling to keep myself covered as I did so, as I then pulled out some tanned leather which I cut into the strips I needed, making a slice in the middle of one strip I fed it through creating an ‘X’ with the leather. I then created a large belt which fit perfectly as I attached the belt to him and then the strips to the belt as the cross was in the middle of his chest as the strips went over his shoulders as I pinned them to the back of the belt to hold them there. Creating a pair of trousers I measure his legs as I made them slightly bigger around the thigh as I held them up to him “They’re not going to fit” he said giggling as I looked confused as he just looked down, “Oh” I said realising he wasn’t female in the slightest. Cutting the front crotch off I added a large piece of leather in its place as it made a large pouch for Brad, “Don’t look” he said taking the leather shorts from me as I turned to look away, “Ok your safe” he said as I turned to see him sitting back down in them as he wriggled around in them, I attached the straps to the belt properly as I made clips attaching the belt to the trousers “It’s only temporary but I will make you some better stuff when we have more time” I said as he nodded, “Aura, I’m back” Matka shouted as he carried in a large chest, “Here, I’m been making more stuff for you” He said opening the chest “Don’t look” I said as he went and hid in front of Brad as he turned away from me. I put on some dark leather stained black as he made them have strings down the side, “I made two sets of trousers, one like you usually do and one a bit more adventurous” Matka said giggling as I looked through the box, “The adventurous set, I thought might be easier to move in as leather does restrict a bit” He said again as I held up the other I quickly changed putting on the new set as I did feel easier to move as I did the splits and back flipped where I stood, the design was leather underwear covering like normal underwear, then with a belt above that attached to some leather strips which went down my thigh, it had a cute pattern as it looks like vines tied together with string but these leather thigh covers stopped at my knee as they didn’t cover the front of back but attached to the belt at long parts at the side. The top was the same, just a vest which pushed everything up holding it in, as it looked just like a bra but small leather strips making the same pattern as the ones on my thigh going down to the bottom of my ribs before stopping. “Are you serious about me wearing this?” I asked as they both turned and I got to watch their jaws drop, “Up to you, but I think it looks good on you, plus it does cover up and gives you complete mobility” Matka said nodded at the suite, “Granted, I feel sexy but I don’t want to be seen as some sort of prostitute” I said looking at him “I see, being a prostitute, depends on how you act, plus everybody in this city knows you and if you carry yourself with pride and sexiness you will be fine” He said as I did a few turns feeling each step. “Fine... but if I’m having to wear this you’re doing me a favour” I said as he smiling nodding, “Go to my house, pick up my adult armour that you and Ribva gave me and change it so it’s suits me, A panther is meant to be a stealthy hunter, I can’t do that with bright white bone stuff... here’s my dagger and bow” I said handing to him all the white bone things I had as I walked over to brad who was just watching me. We walked out the blacksmiths as we started heading home, “I can’t believe I’m wearing this” I said to brad as people walking past eyed me, I bent down into all fours as I tested out the outfit, jumping from fence to post, onto brad then onto roofs and down again “Looks like he was right though, not very constricting” Brad said as I jumped from the roof onto his shoulders as I lay leaning down each side of his neck “I know, anyway, what are we going to do now as it’s not like you fit through the school doors now” I said giggling as Brad laughed loudly, “I don’t know, I feel bad for my parents, they said I ate a lot before, I don’t want to make them poor” Brad said, “Well we only have about a week left of school, so when were done why don’t we ask If we can all go travelling because I can keep you fed” I said proudly as he grinned “I’ll ask but they have this whole plan for me to be in the army” Brad said as he looked a bit sad, “Don’t worry, I will convince them” I said thinking up a plan “Ok well see you tomorrow” Brad said turning down his street as I stood up and pounced onto the nearby roof “Bye Brad” I shouted running over the roof tops before jumping down landing outside me front door before stepping in casually. “Hi mum, dad... I have something to ask you” I said as they looked up from the dinner table obviously waiting for me as they eyed my new outfit “Boyfriend?” my mum asked as I rolled my eyes “No, no boyfriend. Matka made it for me said it was less restricting that my normal clothes which it is, but I wanted to ask you is that when’s schools over can I go and explore and travel with my friends” I asked looking hopeful at them as they looked at me “Ok, but you always have somebody with you who can fight, I don’t want to find out you got jumped again and the next we hear of is as somebody bandits pet” My father said sternly as I nodded, “Come eat” my mum said a lot calmer as I sat down tucking into the large pig on the table. About 30minutes after I said down Matka came to the door as he carried away the two chests which I was impressed he could carry, the night slowly came as I headed to bed to get some rest for a interesting day ahead. The next day was normal except when I went to wake brad up he wasn’t in his room, walking down the stairs I saw him out the window under the shelter of the tree “Hey sleep... get up” I shouted jumping on him as I looked around, it looked like they eat outside, probably due to Brad being to big to fit through doors which was funny. Standing up I jumped and elbows Brad as I fell on him as he woke up with a grunt “Come on sleepy, you have school to not fit in” I said laughing as he groaned “I can’t fit through doors” I he said midst groan as I laughed, “Get up” I shouted before running off to Mikes house, “Hey Mike, wake up” I shouted trying to pull him out of bed, but he had grown. It was obvious that he changed lasted night, his face slightly more groan up as his elf body muscles grew as he looked very manly “I changed last night” he said rubbing his eyes “I can see, go find some clothes, you should see brad, had to sleep outside, he can’t fit through doors” I said as Mike chuckled opening his eyes just as I jumped out the window only getting a glimpse of my tail and feet. Sprinting to Jakes I burst into his room as he too had changed but WOW did Jake change, he was taller now taller than me at around 10ft, he face looks handsome yet deadly as his fangs could be seen when he smiled “Wake up, wake up, wake up” I shouted as I punched Jake in the arm as he groaned waking up “Come on Mr. Adult wolf” I said as he grinned remembering last night. “I’m up” he said rubbing his eyes as I jumped out the room and climbed onto the post where I usually sat waiting for me. I saw Brad first as he stopped by the post as he wore his new temporary armour as people looked up at me standing on the pole in my sexy leather outfit, I soon saw Mike and Jake walking up together as they both wore their fathers clothes which looked to small on them, “Wow Aura, nice outfit” Jake said as I smiling jumping down onto brads shoulders which was now only a few feet below “I see your fathers clothes are too small” I said looking at them both, “Yeah that salamander sure does pack a punch in the change” Mike said as we all looked to Brad and laughed “As much as I love being big and strong, I am not looking forward to making all new armour and weapons” Jake said as we walked down the road towards school as we caught the attention of everybody as we were taller than everybody, Mike was only 9ft but he still stood about 2ft taller than the normal people and he was nearly equal in height to male wolves as Jake was about as tall as a female bear or a human male bear but Brad was the bigger than everything, probably the largest known bear alive. “Hey do you think we have broken the record for largest of our class” I said looking at us “Probably, Brad defiantly has” Mike said as Brad blushed and smiled, “Anyway, what would you guys say if I want to go explore after we finish school in a week and become travelling heroes” I said as I looked to them, “I’m in” Mike said as he looked up to me his matured face smiling as he looked like a fully grown man now, “My dad wants me to make a pack, but I will convince him” Jake said as we looked to Brad “I asked them but they still want me to be in the army” Brad said, “Don’t worry I will convince them” I said as I grinned, we turned into school as we saw some other kids had adult bodies yet none were as big as us “Ok class, due to your growth we will be taking classes outside for today and the remained of the week” Mrs. Krilo said as she stepped to the side and we sat on the floor in what would of been our seats as she stood next to a whiteboard. Even when sat down Brad was taller than most people which was hilarious as ended up lying down as the trees where hitting his head. Class was boring but soon it was Fight class as we all went into our team to test out our new strength. Brad was holding the two largest two handed maces, one in each hand as he swung them around like they were sticks, we all kept dodged as I jumped into the air, Brad reached up to grab me but Mike quickly ran under his feet taking him out as Brad fell to the ground arms out wide as I landed elegantly on his back, rolling to the side brad knocked me off as I jumped away as he picked up his mace hooking it round my belly and pulling me back to him as he picked me by my waist before grabbing Jake by his waist, standing up he knocked over Mike as he place his foot on his chest, just enough to pin him down as Brad roared in victory. “Nice use of the mace to hook me” I said to brad as he set us all down “Thanks I actually tried to trip you up but that happened instead” he said as we all laughed. The school day ended pretty quickly as we all headed home to finish off homework so we all passed school, once everybody was home I quickly sprinted over the city and out the gates as I passed through the tunnel and into the wild. For the first thirty minutes I just sprinting looking around for anything and I quickly found what I was looking for, a salamander down at the beach taking a drink. Sprinting down the beach I jumped into the beasts head tackling him to the side as I tied him up, he got up trying to shake as I put my Pincer Dagger to his eyes, “Walk normally or your die” I said as the beast stopped dead before I directed him into the forest, after another hour I found another Salamander as I tied him up as well attaching the new longer piece of rope to the salamanders head and to the first salamanders neck so I was dragging him. After another hour I found a massive salamander, larger than anything I had seen before as I quickly jumped onto it tying up its head as I threatened it “Be calm and you will live” I whispered in his ear as I attached all the salamanders ropes to this larger one as I rode them all back to the city. We walked through the gates in single file as guards laughed in surprise and shocked as I walked through the city gates into the town as people gasped and kids waved at me, “BRAD” I shouted stood outside his house riding the large salamander, soon enough brad popped round from the side of the house with his parents following him as a crowd quickly gathered “I know how much brad eats, and I caught these three in two hours, so I would like with your permission to go with brad and explore the world. He can easily take care of himself and I can easily keep him fed, so with these Salamander as a gift I would like your blessing for Brad to come with me Jake and Mike to explore the world” I said jumping off the large lizard. “What about the army, we had planned for him to be a great warrior” his father said firmly as I looked up at him “With me he will be a great warrior, and a hero. If there was a war we would come back to help but I feel that brad spending his days as I soldier would be a waste of his talent, he could be with me saving people and exploring. With his strength and size we could easily travel deep underground into the beasts lairs slaying all in our way bringing back treasure and hopefully we will be the first to travel to another island” I said confidently as he looked down at me “Ok, but I hold you responsible for him so if he dies, you will pay” he said as I nodded “Anyway, Enjoy the Salamander, there really got with a bit of spice” I said walking up to the leader as I snapped it neck, landing on it back as he fell to the floor, I moved to the next one as he looked scared but couldn’t get away, jumping up I kicked it in the head as I landing on its neck twisting the head snapping the nerves and brain cord as he feel down dead as well, the last Salamander was desperately trying to pull back and get away but I just jumped up and snapped his neck before walked away, leaving as I looked back to see them carrying the Salamander round the side of the house. The next day I woke everybody up as I jumped onto Brads house and looking down at him sleep under the tree next to three skeletons, sitting down by his legs I nipped at his foot with my claw as he yowled out loud waking up, “Oh my god, I never eat so much in my life... Even my parents couldn’t take another bite” Brad groaned as he woke up, Rolling over he stood up, his stomach large and full as he rubbed it enjoying the feeling of fullness. “I’m glad they liked it” I said as he sat up, leaving his house I went and sat on my post like I always did, I saw Mike and Jake walk up the path as Brad walked down the other path, waiting as we all met up at the post walking into school together. “Ok Class” Mrs. Krilo said getting our attention as we all sat on the grass looking at her as she stood by the large chalk board. “As you have all passed your lessons, there is one last test to take and this should take all week” She said as we all listened in curiously “We want you to make your own armour to your new adult body, it must be functional and work to your needs, for example Mike would need something tough and strong yet Aura needs something non-restricting and dark for her camouflage.” She explained as we nodded “This also means you have to make New weapons for your new size, they can be anything you want as long as they deliver a powerful blow and don’t break themselves” she continued as we all got excited “Now go and create” she said as we all jumped up running down the road, there for plenty of blacksmiths in the city and everybody knew I would go to Matka so I was happy when everybody turned heading towards the other ones. Arriving in Matka’s shop I saw him working on my armour as I walked up to him, “Hey Matka, can I carry on with that” I asked as he looked up “But...” he stuttered stopping “I know what I said but I need to make my own armour for test and I want to use these so I have to change them” I said as he nodded stepping away “Ok them, if you’re taking over, I’m going to go grab some lunch, bye” Matka said as he headed off, “How are we doing this?” Jake asked looking at me, “Mine won’t take long to do, Brad can make his as you make yours then we all help Mike make his as his will take the longest” I said as they nodded getting on with their work. About three hours later I was done, my bone wrist and ankle guards were engraved and stained black as they matched my fur, I added some small strips to the belt so I could hang things on it as I looked at myself in the mirror, my daggers and bow were also now stained black as they blended with my body. Going to the chest I pulled up my large Fang sword as it was light enough for me to swing with ease, going to the side I picked up the two large unused fangs as I brought them to the grinding wheel. I grinding them done bone dust spread covering the floor as I got them to a good length of about 5 and a half foot, I grinded down the sides making it smooth with two edges slightly grinded down to create a bone blade which I made sharp and deadly, moving to the tip I sharpened it to a sharp point as I finished the sword. I staining the sword black I rubbed a local berry into it as it juices were jet black. Once the sword was stained I engraved as picture of a snake into the base as the snake wrapped around the sword before going down the side for about a foot before stopping, when engraving the picture revealed the white bone beneath which I preserved by covering the sword in a waterproof gloss that would keep all liquids out whilst keeping the sharpness. “How this” I said holding up the sword to the guys who were tanning leather and hitting metal forming a chest plate “That’s great” Jake said as he cut up his piece of leather “What about your bow?” Mike asked as he stopped hitting the metal with his hammer “I never use it plus, I like to be in the action” I said as they all laughed carrying on with their work. Going back to my sword I created a hilt from the spare bit of bone at the base making it all connected, I added some more engraving to the hilt as I made the hilt look like the tail of the engraved snake. Happy with my sword I made a replica from the other fang as after three hours I had two perfectly identical swords both the same length and shape except two different engraving pictures as the second one showed a large Salamander with for people riding it. After finishing with the swords I created two leather covers as I slotted the swords into them they fit perfectly, looking around I brought in a sheet of cloth and pinned it up in the corner as I placed a candle inside. “What you doing?” Jake asked looking up “Attaching my sword covers to the back of my vest so they don’t fall of my shoulders when running but I need to take my vest off to do it” I said embarrassed as I stepped behind the sheet. Little did I know the candle was casting a shadow as the boys watched the shadow of me undressing and working on my vest. “What?” Brad asked as Jake was hitting his back, “look” Jake whispered as they both watched my shadow, I started off undoing the string at the front as they could see the vest spread to the side as it slipped out my arms, they watched for several minutes as I sewed the covers on tightly, I pulled the vest back on as I turned to the side to do up the front, pushing everything up I quickly did the string up tightly holding it there as I tweaked the position so it was comfy, before pulling down the sheet looking at everybody who was just staring at me. “What?” I asked defensively as they just looked away getting back to work. Putting the bones armour they fit perfectly after I added a bit of padding on the inside. Looking in the mirror I tried to think of anything else to change, I looked at myself running my hands over the leather making it neat and flush as I put my hair into a ponytail as I left my fringe to hand to the sides of my face. Looking at what I had left I looked into my bag of scavenged goodies from the adventure, I pulled out some of the claws as I went back behind the sheet sewing them onto the leather clothes as I know had two rows of two claws going down the outside of each thigh, I also made leather covers that went over my biceps which no had a large claw on the outside. Taking the salamander teeth, I decorated some parts as the teeth were all sewn to the bottom of my vest all facing down as it looked pretty good, I then did the same to my thighs attaching the short teeth to the outside of the two rows of claws making the teeth point outwards. “How do I look” I said pulling the cloth back down as the boys all looked up at me, “Sexy and scary” Jake said laughing as I blushed “Is that good?” I asked looking at him “Oh yeah” he said going back to his work. I went over to help Brad as he made a larger pair of trousers which he now wore with a thicker tougher belt with thin straps to hang stuff. He kept his straps going over his shoulders as he added a few tough Mikeings along them as he had added one shoulder pad which he had attached several teeth to making them point up so I shoulder barge would be extra painful. Jake had made a similar suite to Brad, but he had two shoulder pads both strewn with large teeth as he attached the sword holders to this straps and his new belt. With all us wearing leather nearly done, we went over to help Mike who was just finishing making his chest piece, “You guy’s done already?” He asked shocked looking at us all looking hardcore “On armour yes, let’s get your armour done” I said looking to Jake “Ok, Mike your smelt and mould the metal as you know what you want, Brad you hit it into the shape Mikes wants as your strongest, I will cool it and make it perfect, then Aura you decorate as you’re the best at engraving” Jake said giving orders as we all nodded getting to work. Another two hours later and the armour was finished, it fit perfectly as it had great joined and mobility, as well as being very strong. “Ok guys” Jake said as Mike stopped modelling, “Do you guys want to carry on and make the weapons today or do you want to leave it till tomorrow” Jake said looking over at us “Leave it till tomorrow, I’m beat” Brad said as he sat down. “Ok then see you guy’s tomorrow, we have to go to school first right?” Jake asked as we all shrugged, “Oh well meet here” he said as he walked off and we all went our separate ways. The next day I did my routine of waking everybody up as everybody was happy to start working on weapons. Before I left home I picked up my jagged Snake rib sword as it was too big to place in my belt so I carried it back to the shop, walking over to Mikes house I found him already awake putting on his armour as I moaned in protest for not getting to wake him up as he just laughed at me, I woke Jake up as he tried to swat me away, I dodged his blind swat as I punched him lightly in the stomach properly waking him up as he groaned admitting defeat, “Get up lazy” I said before climbing out the window and jumping down to pick up my sword and walked to Brads. I walked round the side of his house as I put my large sword on the table before jumping on brad waking him up, “You’ve created a monster” Brad said looking up at me as I sat on his chest with a confused look on my face “My parents love the Salamander and now they want me to bring some back every time we come visit” Brad said as I laughed hard as he tried to make it sound like a problem “That’s fine” I said standing up “Now get up, we have weapons to make” I said walking over to the table and picking up my sword as Jake stood up. “Ok let’s go” I said as I walked down the path with my sword in hand, “Here let me your back must hurt” Brad said taking the sword out of my hands as I dropped to the floor walking comfortably which felt like a blessing “Thanks” I said as he held my sword like it was a paperweight. Walking into the shop I saw Matka, Mike and Jake already there as Matka was eyeing up all our work, “I love your medications” Matka said as he looked me up and down, “Thanks I just got to figure out a way to make this carry able” I said looking down at the sword, “Well have fun, I’m going to take a day off” Matka said walking out the shop heading home. Going behind the makeshift curtain I undid my vest as I lay it flat on the table, I then placed my jagged sword down the middle as I its cover was now quite wide going down my back as it lay under my two identical swords. Sewing everything on and placing the vest on I put the sword in its cover as I stepped outside as the boys looked at me in awe, two daggers at my side and tree swords on my back. “You better go run around, make sure you can still move quickly with the new weight on your back, place see if you can do a back flip, I don’t want you arching you back and stabbing yourself” Jake said as I nodded heading out the door. Jake was making his own large sword as Brad was out looking for a huge strong stone he could use whilst Mike was making his shield, I arrived back about 20minutes later happy that the swords didn’t affect me in the slightest as I looked over their work, “Hey Brad, why not make a metal headed mace, less chance of breaking plus it will be heavier and deal more damage” I said as he looked at me and then threw he stone to the floor outside. “Mike, here’s an idea for your shield. Make a small hole in it the same size as your sword, so when the target is against the shield you can stab through the hole killing him” I said as he nodded, “And Jake I got something special for you” I said as he grinned manically “Carry on but let me make a few measurements first” I said as I measured his hand much to his confusion, getting to work I created a thick leather glove in his size as I made lots of little metal rods over the top as I created a skeleton hand above the glove, I then attached some large knuckles to the metal with spikes in the knuckles as I made long sharp metal claws at the end. I attached it all well to the glove as I cut small holes for Jakes actual claws to slip through. “Here you go” I said handing him the glove “What is it?” he asked curiously, “It’s a metal claw, so your when you claw the target gets your slices plus these metal claw slices” I said as he flexed his fingers bending the joints, “Wow, that’s awesome” he said as he took the glove off going back to making his swords. “Oh I got another idea for you” I said going over to him, “See your sword, try and make a double but only make half the hilt like it was split down the middle” I said as he looked nervous, “thinking about it just make the blades, I will do the hilt it’s a confusing idea” I said as he nodded. In under an hour Jake had two identical blades as I went and made the hilts, make it so they looked like half a hilt I made a small contraption inside the handle, it worked like a clip and when I pressed a small indent in one side of the handle it undid the clip and the swords separated, I then made one hilt part rounded as I made the other one the rest of the circle with bendy bits of metal which wrapped around the more rounded hilt when together. “There” I said handing him back the joined hilt with two blades “You put two blades on it, cool” he said impressed, “That’s not the best part... I made it for your right hand so pressed that small indent on the left side with your finger” I said as he pressed it then the sword fell apart as he now held two swords “Wow, that’s awesome” Jake said clipping them back together and unclipping them practicing. “So if you need two swords you have them in one hand, plus when together I slice deal double the damage” I said as he nodded. “Aura, is this what you meant with the shield” Mike said as I looked at the huge shield with a small slot in the middle “Perfect” I said as he went back to adding to his shield “Hey brad, how’s your mace coming along?” I asked looking at him, “Ok but I need more metal” he said looking down at the large pile of molten steel, “I’ll go borrow some from the other blacksmiths” I said running off, I headed down the road to see how people were doing as they were making nice suites with fairly good weapons, “Hey Ribva, have you got any spare metal Brad can use, he’s making a mace but it’s not enough for him to make something with” I asked as he smiled “Sure thing, here’s 10bars that should be another he said pulling out a wheelbarrow “Thank you so much” I said as I wheeled it back to Brad “Here brad, 10bars for you courtesy of Ribva” I said as he grinned dropping the bars into the molten steel as they melted and joined the pile as it got bigger, “I was thinking about what you did, hooking me and I thought up a new design for your mace” I said scratching it into the wall, it was still a large square but at the sides it had bits pointing down which he could use to hook people, With Jake being down I helped him make the mould for the mace as it added lots of spikes for it as well, I watched Brad pour in the metal as it quickly started to cool and harden, but the mace was now one solid bit of metal, even the handle was part of the mace and very strong. After it cooled, Brad tempered is making it harder as the mace was soon finished, I engraved a nice pattern around the mace and handle as I then wrapped a long strip of leather around the handle leave the top and bottom showing metal so it looked good. “There you go brad” I said leaving the mace on the table with it being too heavy for me to lift, Brad picked it up with two hands as he tested its weight “I would not like to be on the receiving end of this” Brad said as it place the mace on the ground with a thud. Helping out brad I decorated his shield as he and the others made a long thin sword which was very strong as he stabbed a good 6ft out the front of the shield through the slot. Finally done with our armour we headed back to school as we saw Mrs. Krilo relaxing under the tree “Where were you this morning?” she asked sounding cross “we went straight to work on our armours, but were done” Jake said proudly as we stood in front of her, “I see, well you have to present your armour to the class so be here tomorrow morning like everybody else was” she said going back to reading her book under the tree. “I’m off to sleep, all that work has drained me” Brad said as he walked home carrying his huge mace on his shoulder as people gasped at its size, we all quickly split up heading home to rest as I too felt beat from all the work I did. The next morning I woke everybody up as we all headed into school together, walking in a found brad had gone back and made another set of double swords which both sat on his waist as his third and largest sword was a single sword and rested on his back, walking in we met up with out classmates who loved all our armour and weapons as Mrs. Krilo brought us up front to explain what we made. Brad went first as people looked up at his him as he rest the mace on the ground “My armour I made from leather from one of Aura’s designs as the waits and straps have hooks to hold things whilst the pad is good when charging people but it mainly used to rest my giant solid steel mace, complete with spike for extra damage and these pointed bits which can be used to hook opponents or stab them” Brad said as he sat back down with the class watching us as Mike went next “My armour, is very dense and strong and my shield is very large, it’s curve to prevent people from reaching round and trying to pull the shield away, also its spiked so that when they get close I can charge them and hurt them, also I made this long sword which is used with this slot in my shield. Another of aura’s brilliant ideas, it idea is that went somebody is up against my shield I can pushed my sword through the slot killing the opponent without exposing myself” he said giving a demonstration, as the class clapped and watched as Mike sat down, I was next as people cheered, “My armour is designed to keep my mobile, I have my two daggers here for small tasked, I then made two Identical swords made from snake fangs which I dyed and engraved so it looked good but matched my skin so I could camouflage better, if these two swords fail me I get to bring out the big sword which is jagged and sharp to tear through anything” I said as I pulled out each sword. The crowd cheers as I put all the swords back on my back as I sat down. With Jake up next he had a big grin on his face, “My armour is similar to Brad in that it’s just trousers and these straps but I have added an extra shoulder pad and decorated it to be dangerous, but the coolest thing is my swords” Jake said pulling out one of the double swords, “This was Aura’s genius idea, as you can see this sword has to blades which deal double the damage, but if you press this small indent here they fall apart, like so and now I have two swords” Jake said as the crowd looked stunned, “What’s that on your hand?” a boy asked looking at Jakes hand “Another one of Aura’s genius ideas, it basically a glove but it has a metal version on my hand on top, so when I claw at something, it would take damage from my claws and then the metal claws as well” he said going over and scratching the tree as it left 8 claw Mikes from the fingers, “The claws and the swords are all deadly but I then have my big sword for bigger opponents” Jakes said pulling out the big sword from his back as he showed it to the class, “And that’s my armour” Jake said moving to sit down as Mrs. Krilo stood up “That’s very clever and dangerous items you have made there, and as this was your last test and you passed with flying colours I hear by graduate you from Salphasis School, you may go home you four” She said as the class clapped as we cheered “Your results will be sent home some time tomorrow” Mrs. Krilo said as we all go up and thanked her before leaving. “So what do we do now?” Mike asked looking to Jake “Go home, tell our parents and then pack up to go explore... let say meet by the gates at 5pm” Jake said as we all nodded heading home. Walking in I greeted my parents who look me up and down looking very impressed at my weapons and armour “I’ve finished school, now I get my grades tomorrow” I said as my mum ran to give me a hug “So when you leaving” she said stepping back as I could see tears forming in her eyes “About 5pm, but I might have to go help convince Jakes parents” I said as they nodded, “Well, I know you can handle yourself so come back and visit when you get bored” dad said as he gave me a hug “Thank you, I’m going to go pack” I said as I ran upstairs to pick up a few things It was only 12pm when I was done as I walked by down with a small satchel with a hairbrush and some flint, “Is that all your packing?” My mum asked looking at me as I walked back down, “Mum, I’m a hunter everything I need is out there” I said as she smiled as I stepped out the house. Running down the roar I met up with Brad as he walked out from behind his house giving his parents a hug and waving goodbye, we talked for a bit as Brad looked sad “Hey, it’s fine there safe here and your unbeatable so you will see them when we come visit” I said cheering him up as he smiled down at me. Walking up to Mikes house he was waiting outside as he stood up seeing brad and then me next to him “My parents are happy, so let’s go get Jake” he said as we continued down to road to Jakes house but I heard him shouting inside, “Why can’t I go?” Jake shouted as I walked up the path knocking on the door, Jakes father opened it as he face looked more than unhappy it was me, “What’s going on, I heard shouting” I said looking to Jake “Dad won’t let me go as he still thinks I should have a wolf pack” Jake said looking down, “Why does, being a wolf pack matter?” I asked looking to his father, “Because were wolves we have wolf pack, you wouldn’t understand” he said pacing the room, “So the more wolves the stronger the pack right, well Jake is our leader and we make a four person pack, Brad can take on a dozen wolves at ones as can Mike and I can hold of about the same.. We four are stronger than about 50 wolves and we need Jake to lead us” I said firmly as he looked at me “I thought you were the leader?” he said accusingly “Do you even know who I am, I am a panther, a hunter, I am not a leader I didn’t lead anything through school and since turning twelve I just help with the fights, Jake lead the school pack of wolves before leading our pack, Brad is the muscle, Mike is the defence, I am the brains but Jake has always been the leader” I said as he stopped pacing “Why aren’t you the leader?” he asked again, “I don’t know how to lead and I can’t handle responsibility” I said as he nodded “Jake saved my life and I would follow him anywhere” I said as his parents calmed down “Ok, you can go but make sure you make us proud” his father said as Jake quickly smiled before running out the door “Thank you Aura” Jake said as we ran “Keep running before he changes his mind” He added chuckling as we ran towards the gates. Stepping out into the forest I felt a wave of freedom wash over me as we took our first steps as free people, free to do whatever and go where ever we like, “So where we going?” I asked Jake as he looked down to me “I don’t know about you, but I want to show off and I think Joey would love to see brad” he said smiling as we all chuckled imagining his reaction. We walked for a while as we headed towards Miron. We walked for houses passing the lady I saved twice as she waved to us, amazed at our size we walked up to her “Hey, how have you been?” I asked as she smiled “Those beasts keep coming out but the soon leave after I aim for their eyes” She said as I smiled “Do you know where their coming from?”Jake asked as she shook her head “No sorry, they come from that direction though” she said pointing up towards a large hill, “Let’s go find a ride” Jake said as we all laughed walking off to the hill. When we got close we spotted a Salamander outside, it wasn’t very large but I looked at least edible as I snuck up on it tying up the head as I tied the lizard to a tree, “I caught lunch” I joked laughed as we looked inside the cave, I pulled out my twin Fang swords as everybody got their weapons ready. Jake lead us in as we found the hole in the side of the cave leaded down, checking out the original cave we found it bare as we made our way down into the dark cave. “Wait here” I said as I quickly ran out the cave cutting off some branches as I ran back, holding the branch under Brad’s mace I head the mace with my flint as the branch caught on fire, I then passed the flame over the other branches as we stepped inside the tunnel as it lead down deep underground. We walked down for a bit as our torches soon burnt down to nothing as the tunnel went black. My eyes quickly turn to night vision as I looked at everybody, “Let me lead for this as I can see in the dark” I said as I walked past Jake taking the lead giving them directions. Looking around the tunnel was just stone with a few Stalactites coming down from the ceiling, “Ok keep walking forward we have a slight turn to the left coming up” I said quietly as we made our way around the corner, “Stop” I whispered forcefully I the corner turning into a huge cavern. “Where entering a huge cavern now and there are a lot of beasts in here, at least 30” I said as I heard them step forward. “Ok, to your right is a big boulder, hide” I said as they moved to the right finding the big boulder, “Ok there’s 12 spiders, 10 Salamanders and 2 snakes but there’s one huge thing bigger that everything we’ve seen” I said as I heard Mike gulp, looking around I spotted a spider behind us as it got closer “Wait here” I said as I jumped onto the spider stabbing it in the head killing it instantly and silently “I got an idea, but it’s crazy” I whispered as they listened, “Ok, Brad there’s a dead spider to your left” I said as he gasped stretching out his hand to feel the large spider body “Ok, were going to set it on fire and use the light to slay the rest, when I light it, you throw it directly in front of you, there is a slope leading into the cavern” I sad as I saw him nod. Crawling up to him I hit my flint against his steel maces as the hair on spider caught on fire as he picked it the spider swinging and throwing the spider directly into the cavern. Soon it was ablaze as we could all see inside the cavern as we charged the beasts. Mike took the leader getting their attention as Brad was swinging his mace around smashing into the spiders; I and Jack were strategically slicing the legs to make it easier for brad to smash the skulls. Jumping up I stabbed the heads of 2 spiders before jumping onto the back of a salamander and slicing its head off, Brad was stirring trouble as he went for the snake nearby smashing his mace into the side as the snake actually flew of the ground into the wall to the side. Jake was slicing at throats with his claws as beasts bled out whilst his double sword was stabbing heads and decapitating beasts. “Brad, throw the fire spider onto another one we need more light as we head down” I shouted as he quickly threw his mace into a spider before running and throwing the flaming spider. Landing in a pile of dead spiders they soon all caught on fire as we worked our way through the cavern. Jumping up I landed on the snakes back as I ran up to its head stabbing both swords into the skull, the beast fell as I pulled out my swords and jumped down I landed on the last spider as I stabbed the head before walking off the dead spider’s body. Jake was slicing into the other snakes side as we continued to tear through them, throwing a few spiders lighting up the cavern I watched as Brad throw his mace as the huge beast before clawing and biting at the Salamanders and the snake in front. Slicing left and right my swords cut through legs and head like they were butter as soon enough all the bests were dead and we only faced the giant creature, standing up the giant creature looked like a spider but was a lot bigger as it nearly reached the roof of the cavern, it’s large pincers oozing venom as it dripped onto the floor “Watch the mouth, it’s dripping venom” Jake shouted as we ran forward, taking out the legs Jake and Mike run under him as the beast fell forward, I jumped onto the spiders head stabbing my swords into the head, but as I was about to stab he jumped slightly knocking me of as Brad swung his mace down hard smashing the skull apart as blood spurted out as the head of the spider no looked like a squashed orange. “Hey guys look what we have here?” Jake shouted as we all ran to him finding a large pile of glittering treasure glinting from the nearby fire. “bring of the fire, and skin a snake, using the skin like a bag” I said as the nodded dragging over the large snake as we chopping up using about a quarter of the snakes body to pile in the treasure. “So where do we take treasure?” Mike asked as we filled up the skin to the max “I guess we take it home, I’m sure our family would love such a big find so quickly” I said as we finished piling up the snake skin. I tied up the end as we tried to lift it but it was too heavy for Brad to carry on his own, “Ok Jake take the front guide us home, Brad you the middle, Mike you flip you shield so it rest in the curve, I will keep the tail of the ground so it doesn’t drag” I said as we quickly lifted up the snake skin as Jake lead us home. Walking up to the gates we were met by an elder as he looked at us carrying the skin “Did you miss us already?” he said as our parents quickly joined the party, “We would like to create a vault for our parents to use and to store our treasure” Jake said tapping the skin “You found treasure already?” Jakes father asked, “Well we had to kill about 15 spiders, 20 Salamanders 3 snakes and this giant spider larger than the snake to get it, but yes we found it all ready” Jake exaggerated as his father gave such a proud look. “Would you like to use the spare vault?” the elder asked as Jake nodded “Who killed the big spider?” a voice from the crowd spoke out as Jake turned to us “Aura was about to but it shook her of its head so Brad brought his mace down and now he head looks like a squished grape” Jake said as Brad smiled a big smile, his face still covered in blood from biting into Salamanders. “Here, put it in here” the elder said guiding us to the spare vault, we stepped inside as Jake tore at the side letting all the glinting gold pour out, “I honestly, though this hero job would be harder” Brad said as the crowd laughed as we pulled off the skin leaving a large pile in the vault “well good luck on your adventure, and your treasure is safe in here” the elder said as we all walked out heading back out the city gates. We carried as we entered the cave again searching through the bodies, Mike when off and collected some wood as it was started to get dark, Brad and me quickly brought up some salamanders to a secluded spot in the cavern as Jake searching the cavern for anything living. “Hey guys, I found another tunnel” he shouted back as the sound echoed “Ok, let’s barricade ourselves with the bodies and then search it in the morning” I said as I heard Mike walked to the tunnel with some wood. With the fire created we pulled in 2 Salamanders as we used the other bodies to hide ourselves, creating a make shift wall. We laughed and celebrated our victory as we gorged on tasty Salamander. We quickly got tired as our efforts of the day caught up with us, as we all lay down around the fire staying warm as I curled up on a rock looking over the wall. Sleep was bliss but I was quickly awoken by the sounds of rustling as I looked up to see a few spiders coming out the tunnel Jake had pointed out. Creeping off I sprinted up to them as I cut them down fairly easily, slicing and stabbed the spiders were dead, getting an idea I lay down next to the tunnel as I heard the vibrations and echoes of footsteps coming up the tunnel. I waiting till they got close before pouncing as I listened to their footsteps, I started seeing light from the tunnel which was confusing as I crouched outside the tunnel ready to jump. When they got close I heard whispering as the first person stepped out the cave, jumping hard I slammed into them tackling them to the floor as I quickly landed behind the fallen person as I put my sword to their neck. “Ugh” the man groaned as I looked down at the man on the floor “Joey?” I asked curious as he turned to look up at me “Oh hey, fancy meeting you down here” he said as he stood up and stood next to his team. “Oh, sorry for tackling you” I said standing up as I put my swords away “How are you alive down here?” he asked looking at me as I hide well in the darkens “I can see in the dark, plus I’m not alone” I said as we walked over to my wall of dead creatures “Nice kills, where they all in this cavern” Joey asked as I nodded “What about that beast of a spider” Salina asked looking curious as I pointed behind her to the squished head “Oh my, who hit that?” Joey said “Brad, he’s grown... were all adult form now” I said as I stepped round the wall to my camp, “Eat if you’re hungry” I offered as I watched them tuck in “Your tall, eaten Salamander just before you changed huh?” Joey said as I smiled, “What’s down in the tunnel?” I asked as he looked nervous, “Some massive beasts, no treasure but just some huge beasts” He said taking a bite of the salamander leg. “Well get some sleep, were heading down there in the morning” I said as they laughed before lying down. I was woken up in the morning by Jake poking me as I curled up on the floor “Aura, when did Joey and his team get here?” he asked as he had just woke up “Last night spiders woke me up and then I heard them” I said as I rolled over stretching I decided to get up as the cold rock floor isn’t like a bed where you can just roll over and go back to sleep. “Wake up sleepy” I shouted loudly as I jumped on brad “Ok I’m up, I prefer my garden to this floor” he said rubbing his eyes as he stood up, my shouting had woke up Joey as well as he look up to see the size of brad who was huge. “Hey brad” Joey said standing up not even reaching Brads shoulder, “Hey” he said as we all woke up. “Brad, break the wall down” Jake said as Brad nodded picking up his huge mace he swung into the wall as dead creatures flew out scattering the cavern. “Ok let’s go check out that tunnel” Jake said we all got up getting ourselves ready “See you later Joey” I said as we walked away, “Aura you guide us” Jake said as I took the lead going down the tunnel, “Dead spider to your right”, “Left turn”, “Dead Salamander in the middle” I called out as we walked down the tunnel. At the bottom of the tunnel it opened up into a large cavern lower down in the island which had all manner of weird creatures “Ok, there’s loads of creatures here, all very large hide here and don’t make a sound” I whispered as I pulled brads arm leading him back up the cave “here pick up this spider, were using it as a torch” I said as he picked up the spider and carried it back to the lip hanging of the balcony, I quickly set it on fire as brad threw it down into the crowd of creatures as soon the cavern was lit up the burning spider caught the hairs of several more spiders on fire as the fire spread through the crowd “Come on Joey, we’ll show you how it’s done” I shouted as I heard running behind us as we got up heading to the slope down as we started slaughtering creatures. I stabber a few eyes going into the brain, as I pushed them off the slope into the fire as they caught on fire. Looking up I saw Joey watching us as we sliced and smashed our way into the cavern floor, Mike charged into the spider as he took out the legs as Jake stabbed the head of the spider once it hit the floor. Brad was smashing heads and sending them flying off with each hit. Jumping on the back on the salamander I pulled out my second swords as I sliced heads jumping from back to back as I made my way further into the chaos. “More light” I shouted as I saw brad throw a flaming spider of me hiding a huge snake in the face as several more spiders went flying over me as we continued to fight. Jake was riding a salamander as he gripped the lizard’s throat as his right hand was slicing through the creatures as the lizard ran around trying to shake Jake off, ripping the throat of his ride Jake jumped of the bleeding lizard charging the last spider, skidding along the stone he stopping just under the body. Using his claws Jakes shredded the front legs as the spider started to fall forward, stepping forward the spider collapsed behind him as he stabbed the spider with his double bladed sword. Mike had his huge shield swinging like a madman, hitting the heads of the spiders as he knocked them down before stabbing deep into them killing them, walking up to a Salamander he spun swinging his shield into the lizard knocking it sideways as he stabbed into the chest killing it. Going forward we killed everything before reaching the giants at the back, a huge snake that was so big I doubt it could leave the cavern. Jumping on the spider I stabbed my swords into his head leaving them hair as I ran forward pulling out my dagger as I climbed up the snake. I saw Joey and his team watching me as brad and Jake looked up to watch my swing my body round stabbing into the huge snake that had rose up like a cobra, as my weight pulled my down my dagger tore down through the scaly skin as I slowly fell to the floor. Once my feet hit the floor I looked up to watch as the skins tightness pulled it back as the organs fell out as the beast quickly bled out through the long slice in its body, with all the creatures dead we started piling up the bodies as Joey and his team walked down. Brad grabbed a flaming spider as he threw it in the pile as the bodies started to burn, “That was very impressive” Joey said stepping close as I pulled my swords out a spiders head putting them back in their covers as I put my dagger back. “Thanks, so if you came from here how you did get down here?” I asked walking up to them as we all wiped the blood of us “There’s a tunnel up top that leads to another cave which we went down” Joey said as I smiled “Where to next Jake” I asked looking over at him as he put his sword back in his belt. “Do you want to keep going?” he asked pointing to the cave “A bit deeper and we could probably be under the sea” Jake said as we agreed “Ok, Joey you can come if you want but if not, see you around” I said as we walked off through the cavern as Brad threw a flaming spider across the cavern like it was a pebble. Walking up to it we found the tunnel as he used his mace to knock it down the tunnel like one large game of golf, I looking back I saw Joey walk up to the surface, I waved bye but he didn’t see. Going down the tunnel the flaming spider had hit a few more spiders as they quickly ran away on fire as they set more on fire and soon the entire tunnel was ablaze with spiders as we pushed them down the tunnel out into whatever was behind them. Finding the spiders in front of us dead we push them to the side as we easily killed the burnt spiders travelling over them as their bodies gave us sight. Making our way through the tunnel we had killed a good 50 small spiders as we even found some babies scurrying around as they ran through the burning mess often catching on fire. “Is using fire cheating?” Mike asked as he stabbed an almost dead spider as we laughed “I guess, it’s not as heroic but it’s still us killing them as we put them on fire” Brad said as we agreed heading down. “I really hate spiders” Jake said as he stabbed another on his right “The only bug I can’t stand and there’s thousands of them” he added as we all laughed “Yeah, wait what’s this burnt stuff on the floor” I asked looking down “Burnt spider parts” Jake said looking down as I nodded before walking forward. We walked for about another hour down this never ending tunnel passing the flaming spiders as the fire spread faster than we could walk, “We’ve been walking for a while and I can’t remember the last corner we have to be past the current by now” Jake said as we passed the burning spiders “You know I love to kill these beasts, but fire just takes the fun out of it” I said kicking a spider as he died. “I know, even after that massacre we caused I’m bored” Brad said as we all chuckled. For another hour we passed burning spiders going in a straight line as finally there was a brighter light shining in, rushing down we found a large cavern full with a large burning creature just outside the tunnel “What is that?” Brad asked pushing the beast over as it was already dead “It looks like a giant snail” I said as I looked down “That’s the burnt stuff on the ground, the slime” I said as looked back following the slime path to the dead snail. “Ooh, a Snail so dangerous” Mike said mocking it as he pretended to be scared causing us to laugh. “Well this cave looks alive” I said looking down at the moving blackness on the cavern floor, “Let’s throw down some light” I said as Brad picked up the burnt snail dropping it down in to the cave, moving forward I sliced through the spiders in the growing darkness as everybody walked behind me, with my two identical swords out I stabbed heads pushing them to the side clearing the path as I we turned heading down towards the light, “Ok Brad, Light this spider” I said as he pulled out his maces as I struck it with the flint as sparks fell down onto the spider lighting it up, as Brad picked it up I saw what was on the floor, hundreds of small spiders and scorpions all with venomous stingers “Ok, don’t get stung” I said as Brad through the flaming spider to the middle, charging in we watching as spiders caught on fire as they ran around in pain spreading it, I charged in ahead jumping on back slicing off stingers as the others charging in smashing down heads and clawing at the eyes. I literally ran on two legs across the backs of the beast cutting down every stinger that was there as you could hear the painful screams coming from the scorpions. Brad was swinging his mace sideways knocking everything into everything as dead bodies were piling up against the wall. Pushing in hard Mike was making his way to the back as he found the boss scorpion, who had focused on his constantly hitting his pincers into Mike as he stabbed him with his stinger trying to get through his shield. Running across the scorpions I jumped high as I flipped in the air slicing through the tail of the large scorpion as his stinger fell to the floor, “Thanks” Mike shouted as he pushed into the large scorpion stabbing him through his shield, the sword drove deep as it broke through the skin and plunged deep into its heart, the beast cried out as it slowly slumped to the floor lifeless. Jake still swinging and slicing was taking down the last few creatures as he plunged his claws into a beasts eyes whilst with his sword he sliced and stabbed the scorpion next to him, pulling his sword out of the dead scorpion he ripped the eyeball out with his claws before plunging in his sword into the empty eye socket as the beast died instantly. “Great job guys” Jake said as he looked over the bodies for anything to scavenge, “Hey aura, think you can make anything from these scorpions?” Mike asked whilst he rummaged through the bodies, “Maybe, if you find some intact stingers, I could make some daggers, but I doubt I could use much” I said looking over the nearby scorpion as its dead body bled out covering the floor in its blood. “Ok, well let’s keep moving” Jake said as we moved down further into the cave “Hey look a tunnel leading up, that could brings us up at a island” Mike said spotting the elevated tunnel “Ok, let’s go. I’ve missed seeing daylight” Jake said as we laughed at his joke. The tunnel was long and boring, no creatures no light, just me directing the guys around rocks and bends. “Hey look, I see light” Brad said as we turned a corner and light shone in, we followed the light as after another turn we found a cave entrance. We all quickly rushed out and into the daylight as our eyes were attacked by the sudden flash of sunlight hitting our face, it took as a few seconds to adjust but once we could see clearly we were amazed, the Island we came out on was just on the other side of the current and we could see our home in the distance. We walked along the beach for a bit but so far the island seemed deserted, so we decided to set up camp and relax for a bit, I went and scouted the area as Mike and Jake collected some wood whilst brad guarded the camp. Climbing into the tree’s I walked around seeing various new creatures, some with amazing shapes and colours. I saw a birds with very bright colours, and some animals what although looked similar to normal animals they were larger and more colourful. I was searching through the island when I came across a camp, not as well built as our cities but these tents were large and the people inside weren’t like people, they all had the top half of a human body but the bottom half was that of a horses, the all had either swords and shields or bows and arrows, but none looked like bear or wolf, they all looks like normal people with horse bodies. Heading back to the camp I found Brad killing a bull which I hadn’t spotted, “hey you’ll never guess what I found” I said as I saw Jake and Mike approach from the side “There’s people here similar to us” I said as Jake looked shocked “How similar?” Brad asked, “Not sure, they have the top half of their body like a human but the bottom is a horses body, but I think it’s like were all part elf part animal, they’re the same” I said as I sat down, “What do we do?” Mike said looking around “Leave them” Jake quickly said “If they have the smarts of a human then they’re not mindless beasts, and we haven’t wronged each other so there’s no reason for bloodshed” Jake said as we all nodded in agreement. The night went reasonably well, we sat and ate as we told each other of our fights, but soon enough it started to get dark as brad lay on the ground with Jake and Mike near him I took to the tree’s as I lay hidden on the branch. In the darkness of night you could see lights from the cities glow as I think the dwarf may have spotted, but I didn’t know, and I really didn’t care I was too tired to care at the moment, I rest my head as fell asleep in a matter of seconds. The next morning I woke up after a long sleep as I looked down and was shocked to find the camp empty, staying up in the tree I looked around and saw a few dozen hoof prints leading down the sand, I went slowly sticking to the trees as I followed the tracks as they lead to the horse peoples camp, looking in from the camp I saw Brad tied down with his arms behind his back as Jake and Mike where both tied to a rock, I roared ferociously as they all turned their head looking around “How many of you here?” the large leader said pointing his sword at my team, “Four, and she’s the toughest” Jake said smiling “We are Sung, come out now or your friends die” the leader shouted turning around as I leapt from the trees landing on the leaders back “Hello” I said as he turned trying to see me, “You should let us go” I said as he started bucking trying to shake me off, moving closer to his head I put my claws to his throat as he stopped moving “What do you want with us?” I asked as I felt him gulp through my claws which were pressing at the skin only a tiny bit more pressure and they would puncture the skin. “This is Sung island, your trespassing” he said “We come from the Island over the current, we have just spent 3 days underground killing hundreds of spiders, scorpions, snakes and Salamanders, do you really think your are much of a threat to me, I could kill you all in about 30seconds” I said as the crowd looked scared “You came from the caves?” he asked scared “Yes, now unless you and your species want to join the list of things died by my hands, you will let my friends go” I said loudly as he stood tall “This is sung Island, nobody threaten us” he shouted as I punched him in the back of the head, the sung started charging me as I pulled out my swords, “These are made from Snake fangs, I look forward to making bowls from your skulls” I shouted as I run forward jumping into the air as I sliced down cutting hands of as they screamed, landing on the back of one of the males, he bucked kicked the guy behind him in the chest as I jumped from back to back cutting off heads as their bodies fell to the ground. A sung got a quickly swing at me but I managed to dodge it as I stabbed his chest, now on the floor I ran going low as I went under the horse body, with my sword lifted high I sliced through their stomachs as organs fell out dropping to the floor in a wet splash, as I neared the last few I jumped up onto the tree trunk pushing myself off as I landed on the back of the sung I stabbed them two at a time in the back as soon they were all dead, Looking back I saw the leader standing behind the rock with a sword to Jake’s throat “Who are you?” He shouted, as I stepped closer. The leader moved the blade closer as I stopped moving “I am aura...I am death” I shouted as I pulled out my dagger throwing it at the leader as before he could react the dagger pierced his chest right where his heart was as he fell down dead. Walking over I untied everybody as they all looked at me a bit oddly, “I am death huh?” Jake said looking at me panting as blood drips from my swords “Fault me” I violently retorted as he stood there questioning me after I just saved his life, I heard an audible gulp come from his throat. “Look Aura, I know you’re a panther but you’re starting to act a bit mad, all this desire for death and for people to fear you, it needs to stop.” Jake said as I lifted my head putting my swords away to watch Jake “Where meant to be hero’s not slaughterers” He continued as I circled him “What are you trying to say, you would of preferred me to reason with your captors, I just saved your life” I shouted as Jake cautionary took a step back, “Were grateful that you saved us, but like I said, were heroes were meant to be adored not feared” Jake said as he stepped closer, I looked around down at the bodies of the fallen as my body filled with pride and confidence “No, I prefer fear, and if you don’t you like it then I’m out” I said firmly as brad looked worried “Come on aura, don’t do this” Brad said dropping his mace walking over to me. “No, I’m out” I said as I charged forward, jumping onto Brads shoulders and leaping off him pushing him forward as I ran off into the forest to hide in the tree’s. “Look guys, I don’t know about you, but were not safe on this island I say we head home” Jake said as Mike and Brad looked shocked “What about Aura” Brad said looking around, “She’s not who she used to be, she’s no better than the things we hunt. Let’s go home” Jake said as they quickly walked back to the tunnel. I ran for a good 30minutes before I slowed down hiding in the tree’s as I listened to the sounds of the island, I quickly snuck back as I watched my old friends enter the tunnel as they headed home. A few days later Jake, Mike and Brad came out the other end of the tunnel as they quickly headed to Miron. They walked down the road leading into the city as they quickly went and found the king of Miron, “Who are you and why are you here” the King boomed as an old wolf looked down at Jake and his team, “My name is Jake, and we were friends with Aura, the panther” Jake said as the King looked forward, “And where is she?” He asked curiously as he stroked in his small beard, “That’s the problem, there’s a cave just beyond the city which we went in and after three days we came up out on one of the other Islands” Jake said as the King look surprised, “And?” he said waiting for the answer “We met a race they call the Sung, half horse half human they captured us but Aura killed them all, but she’s too good a fighter, she started to go mad with her power and all she wants is to be feared... I’m tell you that if she does come back, she is a threat and do not greet her kindly she is an immense opponent and since the age of twelve is undefeated at everything” Jake said as the King sat back laughing “I’ll send Joey after her don’t worry” the king said sitting back “She beat Joey 3:0 in a sparring match aged 12, Joey will confirm this” Mike said speaking up, the king looked decidedly worried now as he stood up walking down, “Ok thank you for bringing this to me, I presume you are heading home now, I will tell the dwarf city” The king said as Jake nodded before turning to leave. Another few days later Jake arrived home much to the celebration to the city as they told the story how they travelled underground to the other island killing thousands of beasts. “Elder, we need to talk... It’s about aura” Jake said as he nodded leading them away to the council who sat in their chairs around the rounded desk, “Auras got mad, she started off just wanting to explore but after all the killing all she wanted was to kill and be feared” Jake said as the elder looked shocked “Are you sure?” Elder Joseph said as he looked up at Jake, “We were captured by the natives on the island, they call themselves the sung, body of a horse and from the base of the neck sits the top half of a human, I believe it’s a human/Horse which makes them immune to all bear wolf hawk changes. Anyway we were captured and Aura slaughtered them all, referring to herself as death” Jake said as the elder had to sit down shocked at the tale. “Ok, tell the guards to be on lookout if she returns, and to call the siren if she does” the elder said to his assistant who quickly ran off, “You should go visit your parents, and inform Aura’s of her change” he added as Jake and his team bowed before leaving. On my island, I posted stakes with the human heads on top outside the cave mouth as well as a sign from some wood which I scratched my message into ‘You are now being hunted’ “Call a council, we need all the leaders here” Elder Joseph said as two hawks flew off heading to the cities, Brad went and joined the army as he taught the bears what he knew. Mike went to help Mr. Bow help taught Fight class as he knew what to do for all classes as Jake sat at home depressed at how things turned out. “At least your safe son” His mum said as Jake fiddled with his metal claws “I know, but we could of done so much, explore all the islands, find all new species and be famous across all the lands. But everything fell apart” He said looking up out over the city from the steps of his house “You can still be famous, make a new pack and go off and explore” His mum said as Jake perked up a bit, “Maybe, but not yet” Jake said as he got up walking down to Matka’s, the parents had gossiped and now everybody knew that Aura had gone mad and abandoned her team. “Hey Jake, how’s it going?” Matka asked looked up to see Jake stepping into his shop, Jakes head still hung low “Just a bit lost, I was wondering if I could come help you work, I just need to do something” Jake said as Matka nodded “Sure, I’m in the process of making some shields for the army why don’t you carry this on and I will start the next one” Matka said as Jake pulled of his glove and dropped his weapons to the side as he started working. The next week both Kings of Miron and Braven showed up to consult about Aura “Hello Council” King Naplin said as the old wolf bowed before them “Hello” King West said as the dwarf bowed as he beard hit the floor “Greetings, you know why your here and we would like your input in how to deal with the situation” Elder Joseph said standing up from the seat in front of the council desk, “Well firstly we need to know everything you know about her” King West said in his rough dwarf voice, “She’s more agile than any class, about as strong as a normal female bear, but she is incredibly clever. If you see her old team and the inventions she came up, like a glove with metal claws and a sword with two blades that can detach becoming two swords. She prefers night as she has night vision like most cats, and her new black weapons and armour make her nearly invisible” the elder said as the kings listened, “Because of her cat like reflexes she is extremely quick and can dodge nearly anything, she even taught her team tricks which has since made them undefeated” the elder continued as the kings gasped, “last we heard she is on Okomira, they found a tunnel going under a sea under the current” The elder said as the King’s nodded. “However, with her strength and quickness and her ability to use her opponent against herself, we haven’t found a weakness” the elder said as the kings nodded, “But we have noticed she doesn’t like to be centre of attention, and will become scared if there’s lots of eyes watching her.” The elder said as the kings nodded, “She’s trying to kill to create fear, well what if we held a tournament, some of Juni’s greatest fighters battle it out to find out the best, draw her out and trap her in the arena” King West said hopefully as the leaders nodded, “But how will we draw her out, she’s on another island” King Naplin said looking confused “We could send some soldiers over there, get them to talk about the tournament, hopefully her curiosity and desire to be feared will bring her out” Elder Joseph said, “Ok, but can you call in her old team, we need more information on her” King Naplin added as Elder Jospeh nodded as he called over his assistant. “Jake, the leaders of each city wish to speak to you” the assistant said as he ran up to Jake in the blacksmith shop, “Ok, I’ll be right there” Jake said after Matka said it was ok to go. “Brad, the elder wishes to speak with you” he said again finding brad teach the soldiers some moves “Ok, I’ll go now” he said leaving the soldiers to practice. “Mike, the elder wishes to speak with you” he said as Mike nodded following him out as they walked to the great hall. “Ah hello, boy’s” Elder Joseph said as Jake and his old team walked through the doors, “What can we help you with” Jake said noticing the kings in the room “Were planning a tournament to find the islands top fighter, in an attempt to draw Aura out, we need to know more about her” Elder Joseph said as Jake laughed “Oh you’re out your depth here elder” Jake said laughing as the kings looked cross, “This is aura, the girl who killed a 100ft snake with just her claws at age 12, who is now 18 and believes she is death” Jake said looking at the elder, “Yeah, you will probably draw her out but she will massacre everybody, and you will lose every good fighter you have” Jake continued as the kings looked annoyed “That’s why we need you to tell us everything you know about her” King West said as he looked at Jake with his piercing blue eyes. “Well, she carries two identical swords made of Snake fang which she made herself, those are her main weapons. She then carries a long jagged Snake rib sword made by your own blacksmiths with help from Joey” Jake said explaining me to them “She also carried two daggers on her waist, she carries no supplies as she can sleep in trees and can see in the dark.” Jake added as the Kings nodded, “She kills quickly, usually with stabs to the heart of decapitation, only drawing it out on those she wants to torture, and she will kill everybody in a very acrobatic way” Jake said “She is smart she will used your fighters against each other, with the sung she sat on their backs as they ended up kicking each other and when the swung their swords down she would move so they hit their own” Jake said “She is such a good fighter, that even with us being trained by her, we don’t stand a chance... she knows all our weaknesses and how to exploit us, she could taken on armies and win” Jake said as he was getting frantic with his explaining “I recommend to you that you leave her alone, let the idiots go and die trying to kill her, but she can end us all” Jake said as he turned walking out “Are you going to kill her?” Brad asked stepping forward “If it comes to it” Elder Joseph said as looked up at Brad; “Ok” Brad said looking down looking very sad. “Brad did you like her?” Elder Joseph said walking towards brad, “If it wasn’t for her I’d be five foot shorter and not the bear I am today, she gave us everything we all wanted, Mike got confidence and defence, Jake got the strong pack his always wanted as well as training, and I got to make my parents proud being the biggest and strongest, but yes I always felt she was nicer to me than Mike and Jake. She often slept on my back and would lay on my shoulders as we walked” Brad said smiling again “Did you too date?” King West asked, “No, I wanted to ask her out but I didn’t want to scare her off” Brad said looking said as he turned to leave “Brad, at this tournament I need you to fight, and possibly get hurt, if she does turn up she will most like watch from afar, if this connection you have is true she will come help you” Elder Joseph said as Brad nodded walking out. My Island was fun, it seemed word had spread of me as every few days a few people would come through the tunnel looking for me as I killed them all, taking their gear as treasure as I placed it all in the Sung camp and guarded it. After a few months the amount of heroes had dwindled as I was starting to get bored, but to my surprise as group of human soldiers stepped onto my island as I followed them stalking them “Come on, let’s kill this girl so we can go back and train for the tournament” the soldier said to his companions as they walked through the forest “Do you think it’s true that elves are coming to fight in the tournament as well, I know it’s trying to find the world’s best fighter but I don’t want to be facing brad” the soldier said as I grinned as I walking on all fours in the tree above “I know, he’s like 20ft but I hear that Joey is going to be there” the soldier said sounding proud “How long have we got left till it starts?” the soldier said looking around “one month but I head there was a prize for the winner” the soldier said looking nervous “Thinking about it, the winner is going to be the most feared warrior in the world, nobody would dare question them” the soldier said which perked my interest, “Hello boys” I said dropping down behind them as I walked on to feet up to them, “You her. Get her” he shouted as they charged towards me, but I quickly pulled out my daggers as I sliced through all three necks in one spin as they all dropped to the floor gasping for breath clutching their throats “A tournament huh, thanks for the invitation” I said as I dropped down running off to the cave as I sprinted down through the tunnel. After a few days running I arrived at the other of the tunnel as I was greeted to a barricade set up by the humans, it was wooden and spiky as 10 human soldiers stood behind it guarding it, finding the gap in the middle I sprinted through as I skidded turning as I went back to them pulling out my Black Fang dagger as I ran up to the first guard as I stabbed him in the chest, the two guards either side went to stab me as I let go of my dagger stepping back as their swords both stabbed each other, grabbing my dagger I leant back dodging a swing as I kicked his feet out from under him as I jumped of his body, landing behind his head I stabbed my dagger into his heart before pulling out and stepping on the body as I pounced onto the guard in front of me. My dagger piercing his heart as I knocked him backwards and down on to the ground, pulling out my second dagger I spun on the body kicking the next guards feet as he fell sideways as I stabbed him in the heart with my pincer dagger. Pulling out both my daggers I sliced the neck of the last soldier as I walked off shaking the blood from my daggers as I put them back on my belt. I quickly travelled through the forests hiding in the trees as I waiting till the closing date. 3 weeks had passed and a I found out that the tournament was being held in Miron in their great arena based at the back of the city, I travelled to the side of the city as I waited till nightfall. With the moon up high, I climbed the walls walking onto the roofs, sticking to the shadows I made my way across the city as I found the Arena, I climbed into it as I found a small spot in the archway at the top where I could hide as it the archway looked like solid rock but was actually hollow. Occasionally going down to steal some food I remained in the secret room for the next week until tournament day. In the coming week, I often poked my head round watching the heroes and soldier practice as they all hoped they were the best, I watched them swing and slice at large tree trunk feeling proud they made a dent. I watch the amusing training sessions as the days quickly went by as the tournament got close. “Name” the lady said sitting at a basic desk “Brad” he said as she looked up to find Brad standing there looking down at her “Hi” she said gulping “Find a bed, we are not responsible for any deaths or injuries you are here by your own choice, best of luck” the lady read out as she stared up at brad as he nodded, before moving to the side heading down the corridor to the rooms. “Name” the lady said looking up “Joey Bronon” Joey said as the lady smiled at him noticing the height difference between him and Brad “We are not responsible for any injuries or deaths, you are here by choice. Best of luck, rooms are down the corridor” she said as Joey nodded making his way down towards the bed. “Name” the lady said looking up at the hooded and cloaked figure “Sophia” I said hiding my weapons in my hand as the lady didn’t notice me “We are not responsible for any deaths or injuries and you are here by choice, best of luck. Rooms are down the corridor” she said as I nodded walking off as I quickly crept back into my secret room taking off the robe I stole. Waking up I heard a roar of screams and applause as I guess the tournament had started, poking my head out I watched still hidden as most the island was in the arena and over 200 people stood in the ring of the arena waving to the crowd, I spotted Joey and his team as well as Jake Brad and Mike, as well as the bear I beat up on my first visit to Miron. I listened as the crowd quietened down as the King spoke up “Ladies and gentlemen, we are here to find out who the islands greatest fighter is, death should be avoidable but may happen. We will be doing 1v1’s for those entering it as well as a hero competition where one person fights all those wishing to fight him to see if he can beat them all or to see how long they can last” the king said loudly as the crowd listened. “Now let’s begin” He shouted as the crowd thundered in applause cheering as the contestants stepped away as I spotted a leader board Watching the 1v1 fights I soon realised that I would have to take my robe off as I decided to just ignore my call and just watch. “Next fight, Brad vs Gromon” the announcer said as the crowd roared, stepping forward brad swung his mace as it connected with the head of the wolf as he went flying across the arena skidding along the floor hitting the wall as the medics quickly rushed over to him giving him a potion as Brad walked off. “Next fight Sophia vs Mitch” the announcer said as Mitch stepped out, “Sophia” the announcer called again as the crowd boo’ed at my no show “Mitch wins by default”, “Next fight Joey vs Red” the announcer said as the crowd cheered again. Mitch was an average bear but Joey just dropped his mace as he grabbed Mitch’s throat slamming him into the ground as the bear lay there in shock, Joey just picked up his mace walking off as the crowd cheered. I watched the competition as Jake and brad where nearing the finals as Joey also was. “Next fight Jake vs Brad” the announcer said as they both stepped out to the ring, both looking uncertain about fighting each other, Jake quickly ran forward charging brad as he dodged to the side slicing brad leg, brad quickly counters grabbing Jakes head throwing him away but Jake was resilient landing it and running back, Brad swung his mace as Jake dodged and as Brad swung again Jake jumped landing on the mace mid swing as he pushed it to the ground stopping it before slashing across brad chest as brad roared in pain he grabbed Jake as he threw him across the arena into the wall, as Jake crumpled to the floor brad walked of victorious. “Final Joey Vs Brad” he announced as the crowd again rose in thunderous cheering, I watched as the both traded swing both taking hits as after about 5 minutes they both gave up on the maces as they were trading blows like real bears. Joey clawed at brads face as brad ran forward swatting Joey to the floor as he placed the weight of his upper body on Joeys arms pinning him down as he picked him up and threw him across the arena into the wall winning. I watched Joey get upset as they announced Brad the winner, and as brad walked away Joey ran up picking up his mace swinging taking out brads legs as he brought it down on his chest as you could hear Brads bones crack. I was pissed, he shouldn’t have done that. I roared my loudest ever as the whole arena went quiet as Joey had a look of genuine fear, climbing out onto the roof of the arch I roared again as he looked up to see me watching him. I ran forward jumping off the archway as I flipped in the air spinning as I landed on my feet kneeling down; walking over to brad I gave him a potion as he coughed waking up as I looked to Joey who had backed away, “Aura... Don’t do this” Elder Joseph shouted as he stood up over the announcer his voice being carried by the silence in the arena. Looking at Joey, I pulled out my two swords as I walked towards him as he stood scared, “Fight me” I shouted as he back away “Weakling, you don’t deserve to be in this arena” I shouted at him hitting a nerve as I saw his grip tighten on his mace “Come on tough guy let’s make this 4:0” I taunted as he started charging me his first swing was strong as I made little effort and dodged it as I stepped to the side, he tried to swat me away but evaded that as well. I quickly pulled out my dagger as I dodged his swing going down taking out his legs as he fell of his arse as I put the dagger to his knife as I stood behind him “I want you to beg me to end your life” I whispered in his ear as he tried to reach behind himself to grab me. Stepping back I missed that as I sliced his hand just a bit as he roared out as I stood up walking around him as he sat on the floor. Going over to his mace I picked it up, it was incredibly heavy as I started spinning, I looked to see where Joey was as he was now stood up, letting go the mace hurtled towards Joey smacking him in his face as he fell to the floor, unmoving I watched as blood started to pool round his head as the crowd gasped. I looked over to Brad who just stared at me as he walked over to me, “What are you doing aura” he said as I growled at him, running forward I jumped onto Brads knee as I jumped straight up thrusting my knee into brad’s jaw as I hit him on the back of the head with the hilt of my dagger knocking him out as he dropped to his knees hands at the side as he fell forward laying flat on the ground as I landed behind his unconscious body. I looked up to see all the heroes coming out with Jake at the front as he looked at me like a target, putting my dagger away I pulled out my two Black Fang swords as they all started charging at me as Jake didn’t move, the fighters quickly circled me as they started swinging, I dodged every swing as the maces were going into people at the sides. I jumped up high over them as I landed on a bears shoulder stabbing he head as I ran across the fights beheading them all as soon their numbers were dwindling. A lucky shot and I was sent flying out the circle as they knocked by my swords from my hands, I roared loudly as I pulled out my Jagged Rib sword, as the crowd gasped again at it, running forward I sliced through into the circle as I span with my sword held out as I spun all the way through to the other side as people just fell with bodies torn to shreds in a heap in the middle, I looked down at my sword dripping blood as I ran forward killing the last of the contestants as all the stood left as Jake. I watched him step forward as he looked down at the mess on the floor, he claw glove out as well as his doubled bladed sword as he got close, putting my big sword away I picked up my two swords putting them back as I put my claw out showing him what I was going to use. He swung with his sword as I dodged, he claw quickly followed as I grabbed his wrist stopping him, his sword lunging forward as I jumped over him holding onto his wrist as I threw him over my should as he hit the floor, holding onto Jakes wrist I twisted it round as I broke his arm, before letting go and walking away. “Aura” Mike shouted as he stepped into the arena holding his sword and shield “You know you can’t win, don’t bother” I said walking away as he I heard Mike charge behind me, I jumped into the air when he got close as I flipped over landing behind his body as I tilted the back of his shield up as Mike shield hit the floor and mike fell over, I quickly got up as he swung his shield into me, I caught the shield but it still made my feet skid back across the sand. Walking forward Mike had managed to pin me against the wall as he took his shield off, I looked at him confused as he quickly turned it pinning my against the wall as my arms and legs were inside and all people could see as my head “That’s new” I said smiling down at him as he looked back at me pissed “Cuff her now” Mike shouted back as soldiers ran out circling my as one of the bears put a large cuff round my neck, releasing the shield I tried to get away but the cuff was attached to a chain as he pulled me back to the floor. Putting cuffs on my wrists they placed me in the middle of the ring with my arms pulled out tight as the kings stood up “What am I arrested for?” I shouted as they looked down at me “You slaughtered these men” King West shouted back as I smiled “I am a contestant, and I was told we are not responsible for any death or injury, you are here by choice good luck... I’m Sophia and these men willing walked into their death” I shouted back as the kings looked stunned “Why did you come here?” Elder Joseph asked as he realised I was right “The tournament, I am the greatest fighter in the world and I needed to teach you all that you don’t need a tournament to know that, as it’s always been me since the age of twelve it’s been me” I shouted back as the kings looked to each other “As we can’t arrest you for the murder of 200 of our finest warriors, I arrest you as a security threat and as a danger to our way of life” King Naplin shouted as the crowd cheered. “Take her away and heal up who ever can be saved” King Naplin said as he walked away. I was carried to the city dungeon as I was put in stocks, I watched as the guards too all my weapons and left me there, they spat on my and punched me as I took it all, leaving me down there I was alone with my thoughts. Drinking a healing potion Jake quickly went over to help brad as he woke up from being knocked out, “what happened, all I remember is Aura fighting Joey” Brad said rolling onto his back “Yeah, Joey is dead, she knocked you our broke my arm and killed every other fighter, Mike managed to pin her and she’s been arrested” Jake said as Brad looked sad, “You know she’s going to get out and when she does the islands going to burn” Brad said sitting up looking over at the mass of bodies and blood as people were filing out from the stands “ We know, were going home” For 10 years I was trapped in that prison, only visited to be beaten and fed scraps today I turned 28 as I planned my escape, the guards come by everyday at 12 to give me scraps and that’s my time to strike, 10 years of training in my room, the even took my armour giving me these rags. My body was tough as I sharpened my claws to extreme levels of sharpness, I listened as the guard walked up, and as I stood with my back to the wall I waited. Soon enough the guard stepped forward as I grabbed him through the bars as I pulled him in slicing his throat as I pulled off the keys from his belt. I quickly unlocked the door as I sprinted down ripping the throats from other guards, I ran to the end where I found their storage area as I ripped into the boxes finding dozes of swords and then finally I found a large locked chest, it had 3 padlocks on it as I found the identical keys the fit, I places the key I had in as I went I picked up the other key ring from the dead guard as I put it in the other padlock, rushing down I found the third guards as I killed him taking his ring as I quickly ran back unlocked the chest. Inside lay my armour neatly in a bed of straw as below sat all my weapons, I quickly put it all on as I heard alarms go off as guards flooded down into the underground prison. I saw their reflect as they saw me at the end of the corridor as I turned placing the large sword in its cover as I put away the Twin Black Fang swords, I looked at their faces as they showed genuine fear and I loved that look. Running forward I watched the men run out the other prison as I laughed at them, looking up the stairs I saw archers as I dived backwards missing the arrows as they hit the floor, as I quickly sprinted up I saw them reloading their bows with arrows as I jumped over them running out the door as I jumped onto roofs and towards the trade district. People saw me as they screamed running fear as I quickly sprinted running from the soldiers chasing me as I fled the city. I ran to the cave which was now uncovered as it looked like some sort of metal in the floor, leaving the cave I headed home as I saw hawks fly ahead from Miron to Salphasis, sprinting fast I sped along the ground as I zipped past travels as they noted who I was running in the opposite direction, I quickly found the guards of the tunnel as I zipped straight through not giving them enough time to react as turning heading into the forest disappearing as I ran to the side hiding in the trees next to the cliff. Up in the tree I stalked forward making my way to the city gates I stayed in the trees as I heard the alarms go of as I waited for darkness to come and hide me. By about 11pm it was pitch black but the streets were alive with lanterns lighting it up, keeping in over the wall I snuck down to street level as I blow out the lanterns, moving over to another street blowing those out as I after about one hour they were all out, looking around the streets were empty as I presumed they had been told to hide. I found myself on my old street as I silently climbed onto my roof as I crept into my old room, looking down I spotted a small child, of wolf class he must of only been around 8 years old, putting the cover back over him I crept downstairs where I found my parents sat on the sofa talking, I coughed quietly which was enough to get their attention as they looked at me scared “What are you doing here aura?” my father asked as he stepped in front of my mother to protect her “Really, you think I’m going to kill my own parents” I said looking at them as I sat down on the chair next to the sofa “What are you doing here Aura?” My father asked again as they sat down, “It’s been a while since I paid you a visit” I said as I fiddled with my paws “So how are you?” I asked looking at them “Where great, your father trains the army alongside brad, I’m still cooking and Josh is in school” my mum said looking at me nervously “Cute kid, josh is it” I said as she nodded “I’m guessing you know where I’ve been” I said looking at them “Prison, where you still should be” my father said sternly at me, “Inside voice please” I said as he back down a bit, “It was a contest to find the best fighter, I won. They arrested me because I was won... 10 years I was locked up, beaten and abused all because I won the competition” I said firmly as they both gulped “Do you even know what day it is today?” I asked them coldly as they both shook their heads at me, “I didn’t think you would” I said standing up “I hope you both have a nice life” I said walking over to the door “And it’s my birthday today” I said as I stepped out the door leaving them on the couch. Going over to the great wall I climbed the roof going in through the window as Jake, Brad and mike stood guarding the elders and council “10 years I was locked up” I shouted down at them as they looked around “10years of beatings and abuse all because I was a fighter” I shouted down as they looked scared “You killed innocent men” Elder Joseph shouted back “You look old elder, I’m glad you’ve led such a great life, but for the 10 years you took from me and am taking the rest of yours” I shouted as everybody span around looking for me as I circled the roof on the ledge “You were the one in the wrong, Aura” Jake shouted up “I followed the rules, on the island I gave a warning they were being hunted, they all had a chance to turn and leave... In the arena they were warned they might die but they all entered anyway... You arrested me because you were scared of me, not because I did anything wrong” I shouted at him as he sat down “Fear is not a reason to arrest people, you might as well lock every beast and creature up as your afraid of them too” I shouted as the elder looked defeated. “You can’t beat all of us Aura” Mike shouted, “Your forgetting who trained you, you got lucky last time mike... and I didn’t teach you everything” I said as crept down the walls jumping from ledge to ledge as hide behind the council, I walked around them as I went to the side of the room sitting on the chair just in the shadow “Why didn’t you kill us aura, in the arena” Brad asked looking around, “Ah brad, I can honestly say I missed you most, you still sleeping in” I said giggling as they looked around “Had 10 years of peaceful sleep, nobody to wake me up in the morning, it’s been bliss” he said looking around trying to spot me “I’m glad you missed me too” I said as I moved around into the chairs, not making a sound. “Why aren’t you making a move, you shying away from a fight” Jake taunted as I laughed “No, I fancied a chat. It’s been 10 years and my old friends couldn’t come visit their wrongfully imprisoned friend” I said “Did you know my parents had another kid” I said changing topic “Yes we did know, those mean didn’t have to die, I understand Joey as he was wrong doing what he did to Brad, but the other men... you could of just left” Jake said reasoning with me as he sat down on the steps giving up looking “Your looking at this all wrong, I killed Joey for what he did, I knocked out brad making me the victor the men then charged me, and I stood my ground they attacked me and I killed them for it” I said justifying myself to them. “Then leave, we will set things straight with the kings” Elder Joseph said standing up “I want to know what happened to my old friends, what are you all doing now?” I asked hiding now on the chandelier “I’m in the army, training soldiers. Never met anyone I liked.” Brad said, “You liked me though, even back when we were at school I knew you liked me, I like you too. I waited years for you to ask me out but nothing” I said slightly annoyed “True, I liked you but I thought you would say no so I never asked” Brad said looking around, crouching on the wall I jumped forward hitting brad knocking him over as I hid back in the darkness “That’s for keeping me waiting for 6 years” I said angrily as he got back up shaking his head “What about you Jake?” I asked watching him, “When you left us on Okomira, we came home, I was sad and I join Matka in the blacksmith, I now make armour and weapons for the army... I met a girl and we have 3 kids ages 8, 5 and 2” Jake said looking around “Congratulations” I said happily as he thanked me “And you Mike?” I asked again watching him “When we came back, I started teaching in our school doing fight class with Mr. Bow, he’s retired now and I teach full time, I have a wife and one kid. Rosie she’s 4” Mike said as I smiled to myself, “I see, well I hope you have great lives” I said climbing down, creeping up behind the elders chair I sat on the back of it looking down at them as they all faced away, “Goodbye” I said as they all turned to face me as I jumped over them running off to the door as I opened it sliding out. Sprinting of I ended up back at the cave as I ran along the wood and metal going all along the floor, as we came to the cavern the wood planks rose into the air as it was all held up on stilts. I ran for 3 hours along the wooden planks as I found the cave of the mouth, popping out my sign was gone as it looked like a miniature dwarf city where the camp was, my treasure gone as I ran through the camp down into another cave following the tracks as I found a large cavern. Inside were soldiers fighting beasts but losing the fight, I jumped down as I joined in much to the soldiers surprise and fear, I pulled my twin swords out as I started slicing through the spiders as I ran around killing them all as the soldiers all took steps back to watch as before their eyes dozens of creatures of died every few seconds, as I ran up the snack stabbing it in the head as I slaughtered the last of the beasts in the cave. “What do you want Aura?” the dwarf said pointing his sword at me “To help” I said as he back down after that “Why?” he asked again looking at me “I know what you think I did was wrong, but I had my reasons and I love to kill, so I figured I could help you do this” I said to him as he nodded “Well, if you just kill them all, we will dispose of their bodies and make the tracks” the soldier said as I looked at him “Tracks?” I asked confused “Yeah those tracks hold a cart which travels along the metal, saves walking everywhere” he said as I laughed “I did the same thing with a Salamander” I said as he laughed. Looking back at the mess I made I spotted some spiders coming out as quickly ran over cutting their front legs block the tunnel as I walked over to the soldier “can I borrow your sword?” I asked as he handed it to me. Walking back I pulled out my piece of flint still in my pocked as I struck the sword watching sparks land on the spider as it caught alight setting the other spiders on fire. “Why did you do that?” The soldier asked as I handed him back his sword, “I’m tired from running and killing, the spiders catch fire easy and the run around spreading it all, it’s how I got through here the first time” I said as he nodded. I took a break as the built the tracks leading down to the tunnel as they didn’t have to clear out the tunnel as the spiders were all ash on the floor. Walking down the tunnel I followed the glowing mess of burnt spider as we made our way to the other islands. “What is it elder, why have you called us back here” King West said as King Naplin walked beside him “Aura, came to visit me a few days ago, she explained her reasons and I realised we did wrongfully imprison her” Elder Joseph said as he sat on his chair “What were her reasons?” King Naplin asked as he looking displeased, “Joey died because what he did to Brad was wrong, Brad would have died if she didn’t step in. She only knocked out Brad as she only came to become victor of the tournament, then the other men started charging her and she stood her ground and only attacked after they made the first swing. If the men hadn’t attacked she said she was going to leave” Elder Joseph said as the kings nodded, “she came back asking us about what we had been up to before leaving, hawks followed her to the mine leading to Okomira, you should speak to you men down there” Elder Joseph said as King West nodded “So your saying she just wanted to win and that was it?” King Naplin said looking down “Well now I feel bad, after she escaped I put a bounty on her head but I doubt anybody will dare go after her” King Naplin continued looking said “Well, if you could tell your people the truth then this might be sorted out” Elder Joseph said as the kings turned to walk out. “General, I wish to leave the army” Brad said looking to his general as he looked shocked “But why?” he asked, “There’s still so much I want to see, I made a trip before to see the islands and I would like to finish that task, if there is a war I will be back to fight but in the mean time I would like to go and finish my goal” Brad said as the general stood up “Ok, I hope you see all the wonders of the world” The general said shaking Brads hand as brad quickly left picking up his mace and heading to the cave. Although Brad did want to explore, it’s not the reason he left the army, brad was now searching for Aura. “Hey, Aura we need you” a soldier said waking me up as I looked up to see a bunch of scorpions run through the fire heading towards the soldiers “Play time” I said to myself as I got up running towards them, I dodged the first lunge of the stinger as I stabbed into the head, climbing onto its back I stepped onto the next scorpion as I stabbed it in the back of the head aiming between the scales as I went along all of them slicing into them and stabbing their heads as they all fell down dead. Using the first line as a barrier I work through them all as they all died, seeing a spider I quickly picked up the shard of steel the soldiers gave me as I set the spider on fire as it ran back down the tunnel in pain setting everything on fire. Turning back I saw one scorpion I missed corner as soldier as I quickly ran towards it, jumping high I came down feet first as I smashed its head into the ground with my wait impaling its head on a rock what was on the floor. “Sorry, I missed one” I said as he thanked me. I helped clear up the bodies as “Can you do me a favour, when we reach the next island can you leave all the snake bones there, I want to build my home there” I said as he nodded “Sure, would you like to name it as well?” He asked looking at me “What do you mean?” I asked looking back “Were heading to the Bogla Isles but the actually islands don’t have names, so you can name the one you want” the soldier said as I smiled “Thank you” I replied as I helped build the track, lifting metal and placing it down for them to use. Brad was at the entrance of the cave as he found the cart the dwarfs were using, getting in it he flipped the brakes as he started rolling picking up speed as he went. Soon he was going very fast as he braked just before the drops so he didn’t fly off, rolling down the entire trip lasted about twenty minutes as the cart stopped outside the cave of the island he last visited. Brad searched the island finding the camp but finding it empty, looking around he followed the tracks that lead out of the camp as this track didn’t have a cart. Starting his walked Brad entered the cave walking along the planks as he searched for aura. A few hours later Aura and the dwarfs had found one of the Bogla Islands as it turned out to be the furthest one “Yup this will do perfectly” Aura said as she stepping into the bright light looking around, the Island shaped like a pebble was not massive but still about 20minutes walk from one side to the other, finding a good spot I marked out my house as I saw dwarfs unloading bones from the skeleton of the snake which I killed, I watched as after about 30minutes the entire snake was on my island. I quickly started pushing in ribs into the ground as I struck them right next to each other, the spine parts were being unused at the moment but I quickly stopped as the soldiers walked up to me. “Hey aura, there’s a cave over here, do you mind checking it out for us?” the soldier asked as I nodded, but before I left I quickly made a sign as I scratched in ‘Aura’s Home’ then a little ‘ Under construction’ under it which the dwarves thought was funny. Leaving my home I headed to the cave as I set the spiders on fire and waited for a bit so we could enter, walking down I stabbed the remaining spiders as we made our way through the long tunnel, I found as large cavern as I it was covered in spider webs, “Ok this is new” I said looking around nervous as the other spiders didn’t make webs “Don’t make a sound” I said quietly as the dwarfs stood in the darkness, going into night vision I saw the spiders crawling along the webs around the walls making their way towards me. These spiders were different, not big and hair but smaller and lighter in colour “Stay perfectly still” I said to them as I stepped forward pulling my swords out, as the first spider entered the caver I stabbed it in the head looking up I spotted a second spider trying to climb over the top as I stabbed him as well blocking the entrance, “Ok step back” I said walking to the start to the spiders webs. Putting the torch don’t to the webs they quickly burnt as I watched a glowing of burning spread through each strand of web before reaching the spiders as they burst into flames. “Get back I shouted” as I saw the skin of the spiders bubbling. Running back a few meters I looked back to watch the spiders explode, their bones and skin going everywhere where heard a loud crash and a roar as we looked back to see more spiders come through but exploding before reaching us. After no more spiders came through we walked back do to the tunnel mouth as we looked into the cavern, I looked around before looking up and seeing a huge as spider that was upside down “I found momma” I said pointing up as the dwarves looked scared, I pulled out my pincer dagger as I threw it at the spider hitting it in the eye. You could hear the spider scream which was a first as it lost its grip falling to the floor landing on hit back “Stay here” I said to the dwarfs as I jumped over the edge down onto the spider as I stabbed it several times in the head finally dead I called the dwarfs down “Why were they exploding?” the soldier asked looking at me wiping the blood off my sword “Not sure, probably the venom of the spider is flammable” I said as they agreed, moving the spider to the side I cut of its legs to make it roll-able, “The bones from that spider, I want as well” I said as I couldn’t cut through the bone, it was stronger than my snake bone, I waited by the next tunnel as they built the track, slowly catching up to us as we went ahead to kill whatever was done there. “Come on aura, lets carry on” The soldier said as I was trying to pull the pincer of the huge momma spider but failing, “let it decompose a bit then the pincer will just fall out” the dwarf said as I stood up walking over to him, I simply nodded as we made our way forward into the new tunnel which was considerably shorter after just a few minutes we were on the next island. Brad had finally made it through the tunnel walking out into daylight to look around, he spotted two sets of tracks as one led to another cave as they other led to a secluded part of the island, walking down there he spotted the snake bones and the sign saying Aura’s home, Brad smiled as he headed down the other cave looking for aura. On the next island the dwarves set up camp to rest for the night as they had done a long day of setting tracks and Aura had killed hundreds of beasts. Hunting down a bull and a cow she ate with the dwarves as they talked about their family’s back home. “Aura” the voice shouted as I heard somebody call me name, “Aura” the voice said again louder and tougher, getting up I walked to the voice as I climbed the tree, looking down I found Brad walking along the path we took, I dived down from my tree knocking brad over as I pushed his arms down above him “what are you doing here brad?” I asked looking down at him as he smiled “This” he said as he lifted his head to kiss me, extremely shocked and confused I let the kiss linger as he broke it leaned back and sighing “You ok” he asked as I just froze hovering over his head “Just a bit stunned” I said sitting up as I was still sat on his chest moving as he breathed “Why did you do that?” I asked looking down at him as he watched me, “I wasted 16years not telling you, so I decided I would tell you before I never saw you again” he said smiling, “You know doing this 16 years ago means everything would of panned out differently” I said as he chuckled “I know, but I couldn’t stay at home knowing you didn’t know” Brad said sitting up knocking me off, “Here come meet the dwarfs” I said jumping up leading him to the camp “Everything ok aura” the soldier asked looking up at me “Yeah, it’s great, guys this is brad. Brad is going to be helping us” I said as they cheered. “What am I helping with” Brad asked sitting down next to me “The dwarfs are building a track to all the islands were, helping them build it” I said as I crawled up next to him, purring as I rested my head on brads leg. “Ah so that’s why she looked sad” the soldier said as he looked over to me laying on brad “You’re a lucky man Brad” the soldier said as I picked up some sand throwing it behind me as the dwarfs laughed as brad lay down, crawling up onto his belly I curled up falling asleep on brad as the fire dwindled down. Waking up in the morning I looked down at brad who was sleeping peacefully as I crept forward giving him a kiss as I climbed off him. Walking around the island I watching the dwarfs start working as they another cave, going back I jumped on Brad waking him up as he groaned “Come on sleepy were building today” I said as he got up picking up his mace and following me to the cave “So what are we likely to face?” Brad asked as we headed into the cave, “Who knows, those white spiders exploded when on fire” I said as Brad chuckled, walking down into the tunnel we came across a very large cavern as the entire thing was full of snakes all piled on top of this “I can see my house getting and extension” I said as the dwarves all laughed “I’m making it out of snake bones” I said filling in brad as he nodded. Running forward I jumped into the pit of spiders as I pulled out my twin swords as I ran along the spine of the snake, finally reaching the head I stabbed hard as the beast died and was then dragged to the bottom as the other snakes moved on top, I just had enough time to pull my sword out as another snake head popped out at the top as I ran over and stabbed its braid pulling out my sword watching as the beast was dragged to bottom. Waiting on the moving snakes every time a head popped up I stabbed it until after about 10minutes all the mass stopped moving, “Ok come help me lay these out flat” I shouted up as brad walked down the slop moving the snake off each other as we pinned their heads to the wall and let their bodies go down across the floor like a ‘L’ shape, “We will take the bones back once there’s just a skeleton left” The soldier said as I nodded carrying on as we walked down to the end of the cavern to the large tunnel, looking back I saw the dwarfs placing the tracks as they followed the slope down, “Where out of track, we had to go back and get more” the soldier said as they jumped in the cart the brought as we rode our way back to the island and then back to my island. “Ok, see you guys when you come back” I said as the dwarfs took off heading home on the cart attached to the tracks. “So what do you want to do?” I asked turning to face Brad as he smiled at me... Three weeks later the dwarfs arrived with dozens more cart loads of track as we finished going round the Bogla Isles as they made a few tracks going from island to island, “Were going to find another cave from Okomira leading to the other islands, hope you enjoy yourselves here” the soldier said as he and his men all left leaving my and brad alone. Turning around I looked at our house, made from a total of 7 snakes the ribs all bunches together as it went round in a large circle with a gap for a door, Brad has dug them into the crowd as I made a roof from leaves, the dwarves were kind enough to bring back as grinding wheel from one of their trips as I turned all the spinal bones into useful things like tables, and chairs as well as cutlery and bowls. The skulls made a nice bed after we filled it with wool from the local sheep; I made a few weapons for fun but mainly just things we wanted. As me and brad now live on our own island, “I guess you finally got your dream of building a house on a private island” Brad said smiling as he walked up to me “Definitely, now let’s go to bed and see what tomorrow brings us” The end |
