THE NEW GODS 6: The Ravages of Time
By WojoMartin

CATCHING UP: Rex spent a fun-filled morning with Katie and Monique: two sweet adolescent best friends with a taste for Rex, DOCTOR WHO, and as they joyously discovered—one another. He had not really been looking for long-term additions to his inner circle, but had found them in the form of this lovely duo.
Mandy arrived in Rex’s new T.A.R.D.I.S. playhouse and informed him that Amber was missing. Rex confronted the Olympians. They explained that Amber was sacrificed to help Rex achieve full godhood. Rex flew into a rage and injured several of the Olympians before they could collectively bind him and chain him to Olympus Mons on Mars. Zeus seemed proud of the power of Rex’s rampage, and added that it “must run in the family.”
Weeks passed before Rex regained consciousness. Mandy vowed to remain aboard the T.A.R.D.I.S. and wait for Rex until his crisis had passed. Monique and Katie stayed with her so that she would not be alone. Meanwhile, Amber was being treated as one of the honored dead. But she still confronted Hades and demanded her release. She had come to realize that she was not dead.

MOVING ON: Will Rex free himself from his bonds? What action will he take if he is freed? How will Hades respond to Amber’s request? What is Zeus up to? What are the final tests he has planned for Rex? What becomes of the ones whom Rex loves?

Fantasy, Male/Female, FFM, romance, domination and submission.

NOTE TO THOSE WHO HAVE STUCK IT OUT TO THE END: Character and story long ago overwhelmed sex in this series. There is sex in this installment, but the story definitely takes over the majority of the installment. So many questions and loose ends to tie up! Thanks for reading, and I hope you find some enjoyment in the way things end up.

Odd things happen to mortals who consort with gods. That is the best way to explain how a pretty young girl could make the perfectly sensible exclamation, “It’s so nice to meet you! I missed you something awful!”

It all began with a god spying on three beautiful and naked fourteen-year-old girls lounging in a pool. While the place in which the girls found themselves was a silly but wonderful homage to a fantastical time ship from a television series, the invisible form that watched them recalled the times he and his brothers used to watch Nymphs splashing about in isolated Greek glades. But this time, he did not intend on appearing to them and then fucking them. He’d actually given that sort of thing up long ago when he married his sister Demeter’s daughter.

Incest was a matter of course to the Olympians. Their children risked no ill effects from any of the biological problems humans sometimes faced if they created children with close relatives. And no other beings struck them as “marriage material.” He let his mind wander, though, and he sighed at the beauty of the girls. Even if he had wanted to stray from his vows to his wife—something which she would have understood, him being a god—these girls were not his to have. These girls belonged to a god whom he rather liked, and it bothered him that he had ever been party to messing with that god’s young lovelies in other matters. Any Olympian who even thought of bothering them in any further way would have to answer not only to the god chained to Olympus Mons, but to the Lord of the Dead himself.

He decided that his admiration of the girls had gone on long enough, and he was satisfied that the decision he had made this morning was correct. His favorite little human girl would be safe here, loved here. He showed a muted version of himself. Two of the girls cowered in fear. The third, a redhead, was equally terrified of him. He could sense that. But this one responded by rising from the pool, standing her ground and glaring defiantly into the hulking god’s eyes. He was glad she belonged to another god or she would have put a tremendous strain on his self-imposed loyalty to Persephone. Without speaking to the girl, he waved a hand and a little blonde seventh grade girl with pink and green streaks in her hair appeared.

The blonde and the redhead took a moment to let the realization sink in. Then, they threw themselves into one another’s arms and wept and laughed and squealed with joy. The god, never much for talking, vanished and left them to their business. He had delivered the living girl back to the mortal realm. His realm would be more orderly now, but somehow diminished. Still, in a hundred years or so, the blonde would be back to enrich the Blessed Isle for good. She was not the only one present there who would. Young Rex had an eye for virtue that surpassed even his eye for beauty.

The redhead spoke at last. She took in the form of the girl whose mind she had touched many times, but whom she had never met in person. “Amber, you are every bit as beautiful as Rex thinks you are!”

“It’s so nice to meet you, Mandy. I missed you something awful!” Amber turned to the two girls who had been quite understandably paralyzed with fear before the most terrifying of the Olympians. “They’re adorable, Mandy. HIS?”

“And my friends, now, too. ‘Nique, Kates, this is Amber.”

“Welcome to Saturn, Amber,” Monique said, recovering her ability to speak.

“We’ll leave you two to catch up,” Katie said, taking the hand of her beautiful best friend and lover and leading her from the pool.

The two girls remaining stared into one another’s eyes. “I always figured you’d be naked when I met you,” Amber said with a sad smile. “I just thought HE’D be here, too.”

“How much do you know?” Mandy touched the pink streak in Amber’s hair. She couldn’t help it. The streaks had turned Rex on so much that Mandy had come to think of them as one of the wonders of the mortal world.

“Very little. Hades told me that my parents think I was sent abroad to study.”

“Apollo used the same cover with us.”

“But Doc thinks I’m dead, doesn’t he?”

“Isn’t it awful? Apparently he almost destroyed Olympus about two months ago. He loves you so much, Amber. They’re blocking our minds from reaching him. Apollo won’t tell me much, but I think they’re testing him somehow.”

“They’re wonderful, and they’re total bastards. Don’t try to understand them like you would people. They’re like us, but totally different at the same time. And by the way… Rex loves you every bit as much as he loves me, Mandy.”

“I know,” Mandy said and sighed with joy and fondness. Then, she broke into tears. “And he’s in pain, and those fuckers won’t let me go to him!” Amber took her friend into her arms and held her. The two girls bawled their eyes out, and in their shared weakness they found the strength to endure.

Hermes’ nose was still sore. Gods are nearly impossible to injure, but the few objects or beings that could injure them usually left wounds which took a great deal of time to heal. Rex had broken his mentor’s nose. Perhaps the only thing that had ever hurt the god of travelers more was seeing the pain in Rex’s eyes when he believed that Hermes had conspired in Amber’s murder. Now, for the first time since the incident on Olympus, Hermes had to look his friend in the eye—and once again lie to him.

“Fuck off!” Rex snarled before Hermes could even speak.

“I’ve come to h—“

“What part of ‘fuck off’ was too hard for you to understand?”

“I think we can get Amber back!” Hermes said quickly.

The new god stared at him in disbelief. Hermes still didn’t have Rex’s trust, but now he damned sure had his attention. “Wh-What?” Rex stammered.

“Rex, you are far more powerful than you realize. We can’t truly bind you from doing things. We can just trick you into believing you can’t do them. If you don’t truly believe you can do something, you won’t be able to do it. I’ve been tricking you almost the whole time. You know how it seemed like you were running into just the right girl at the right time? Each one a girl that appealed to a need of yours in some way?”

“Yes, you were steering me toward them.”

“No. I was making it look like I did. It was always you. From the very start, it was you. Your appointment book magically changed to having Mandy there when you needed to see if you would actually make love to one of your Babydoll Crushes.”

“Don’t use those words. Those are hers!”

“Then, when you needed to know how far you would go with a completely trusting innocent, you were drawn to Amber’s school. When you wanted to see how dark you would get with a truly awful girl, you were drawn to Madison. You were getting close to discovering how much control you had, so Zeus had me act like I was steering you to Madame Oksana’s to test how young you would go. You were going there anyway. Hell, you would have ended up at Holy Mother and with Katie and Monique without me. You are controlling the mechanisms of the universe far more than you’ve ever realized. I tried to tell you a few times. Every time I started, Zeus sent me a warning not to do it.”

“Thanks for the info. Now, tell me about Amber, or fuck off!”

“You can do almost anything, Rex. Even things we told you that you could not do.” Hermes raised his eyebrows and let Rex piece it together.

“Travel in time?” Rex said. “I can travel in time!”

“Yes, my friend. You always could. Your mind has always had that power buried in there somewhere. That is your unique ability. That’s why so many things you’ve done are so damned close to time travel. That’s why your favorite show has always been about a time traveler. It’s why—as you’ve approached the discovery that you could actually do it—your love for the show became a little obsessive.”

“So, I can go back and grab Amber before your lot murders her?”

“Yes… and I am risking the wrath of Zeus for telling you that. But Rex… it’s damned dangerous.”

“I don’t care. If I get destroyed, I get destroyed. I have to try to save Amber.”

“You don’t understand, Rex. It’s not dangerous to you. It’s dangerous to the mortal world. Gods are a constant. We’re pretty well insulated from time.”

“How is it dangerous to the mortal world?”

“Remember the Black Death?”

“I’m only thirty, Hermes. I wasn’t there. You missed my birthday last week, by the way.”

“Well, happy birthday,” Hermes said with a weak smile.

“Fuck off. Now, you were telling me about time travel and the Plague.”

“The Black Death was never supposed to happen. That bacteria was transmitted back in time by a powerful Chinese Shen who broke the rules about time—well, who breaks the rules about time in the future. He brought a few human adherents with him. They were trying to save a sacred temple from destruction in a flood. They succeeded, but one of the future humans carried what they considered a harmless bacteria. Humans of the Middle Ages had almost no natural immunity to the bacteria, because it wasn’t supposed to exist yet. It was over a millennium beyond where it was supposed to be in evolution. And bacteria evolve pretty fucking fast.”

“So, what are you telling me?”

“You can PROBABLY rescue Amber with no repercussions, but there is a slight chance that you might cause some type of global disaster.”

Rex Timon was no selfish man. That should be noted. But he was genuinely considering it, so precious was the life of his Alpha priestess to him. For a long time he weighed the possibilities, and bitter were the tears he wept before and after he responded with a single world. “No.”

“They’re only humans, Rex. And the Alpha is the most devoted follower of a being who could utterly destroy every single one of them. Are you certain you don’t want to do it?”

“Don’t fucking tempt me, Messenger!”

“Alright, there is one other way. The risks of global disaster are nil, but it carries the certainty of one innocent’s death.”

“What?” Rex asked, flabbergasted that his once-trusted friend would offer such solutions to him.

“Well, the sacrifice requires that Hades receives the soul of a devoted follower. In Athens, there is a beautiful raven-haired twelve-year-old girl named Christina Androkopolis. She has always believed in the power of our pantheon. Simply repeat the process. Seduce her, and she will swear eternal allegiance to you. Then, we exchange her for Amber Alpha. Hades has a certain sentimental side, and he is fond of you—in his own fashion. He will consent to it. And the new girl would be exalted in his kingdom.”

“You want me to seduce a child so that we can murder her?” Rex said, shaking his head in disbelief. “I am not an Olympian! I do not want to be like your lot in any way! You have all the power in the fucking universe, but you have no soul! Fuck off, Hermes. The whole lot of you can suck my fucking dick!”

Hermes’ reaction to his tirade was not at all what Rex expected. “Niki!” he cried. “Victory! My lords, Rex Timon stands transcendent!”

The entire pantheon appeared before him. “All hail Rex!” they shouted. “Hail the new god!”

“I told you. I don’t want to be part of your merry little band of murderers!”

“She’s not dead, my friend!” Hermes declared joyously. “There is no need for such a sacrifice. It was a ruse. Amber Alpha lives!”

“What the fuck are you playing at now?” Rex’s heart pounded in his chest as he fought to control his emotions, and to not let his hopeful heart accept the god’s words at face value.

“We had to know… before we let you realize the extent of your awesome power,” Zeus explained. “We had to know that you would be a caretaker of the mortals, not an exploiter of them. We had to provide you with the greatest temptation we could muster and see if you could resist it for the sake of the humans. Rex, when we first reigned over this world, none of us would have refrained from risking or killing mortals to get the things we desired most. We caused wars, famines, plagues. You! You would not even take the life of one child you have never even met though it would have given you the thing you wanted most. That is why we let you be raised mortal. In your heart, you are one of them, even more than you are one of us.”

Rex took in all that was said. He thought about what they had done, and why they had done it. Their approach had been cold, but it had been logical—at least to an Olympian. Rex responded in an entirely human fashion. “When I break free, I am going to take these chains and beat the living fuck out of each and every one of you. You played me; you had Hermes befriend me and lead me toward my darkest impulses; you lied to me over and over; you used a sweet little girl as a pawn in your game. Where is she now?”

The Olympians looked stunned. Surely Rex had not understood what they told him. Maybe it was just concern that his Alpha had been harmed. “Lord Rex,” Apollo said. “She’s at Saturn, with Mandy and the two Eighties girls. They’re all safe and healthy—and inviolate.”

“If you just calm down, Lord Rex,” Athena said cautiously, “we can talk for a bit, and then you can go to them.”

“I’m glad they’re safe. But I have nothing to say to any of you. Well except for Hermes.”

Hermes approached him. “Yes, Rex?”

“Hermes, my friend… FUCK OFF!” Rex glared at the Olympians, and they sadly vanished and left the dangerous god chained to the base of Olympus Mons. Rex had played it in the worst way possible, and he knew that. If he really wanted to punish them for what they had done, the smart play would have been to allow them set him free and then attack them singly over the course of time. But the Olympians seemed to be full of smart plays, and he wanted none of that. He had no more taste for cleverness. Their actions had filled his heart with rage and contempt. They needed to get that. He was certain that before it was all over, they would understand it very well.

+++

In the great hall at Olympus, there was an air of malaise. The entire pantheon seemed to feel as if their civilization stood balanced on the edge of a knife. Rex had been the key to the future of this world. He had passed every test, but they had somehow failed him. Now, everything was at risk. All were deep in silent thought, save Aphrodite.

“Please, my lord!” she begged Zeus.

“I will not give my blessing to this,” he said, not looking up lest his Aunt Aphrodite flirted with him and beguiled his mind.

“I can do it. I know that I can.”

“He has realized the awesome power of his full godhood, and he hates you. It is all too dangerous.”

“Yes, but he’s male. And I’m… me.”

“I will speak no more of this,” Zeus said as he got up from his throne and walked over to Hera. Aphrodite vanished in a huff.

“You played careful word games there, husband,” Hera said, gently touching his forearm. “You did not forbid her from doing it.”

“She was going to do it no matter what. You know her. This way, she gets in less trouble.” Zeus sighed, and Hera kissed him on the cheek. “It may well work out for the best. But not in the way she imagines it. Not in that way at all.”

“But…” the queen said, gazing into his sad eyes.

“I’m still playing games, even with my pretty auntie, now. I had so hoped we were past this. We had become a real family.”

“We are still a real family, my love.”

“No, my dear. Not truly. Not without Rex.”

+++

Rex could not believe his eyes. The sight they beheld made absolutely no sense. It was impossible in this place, in this alien atmosphere. But, he was awake, and this was no dream. Mandy was running across the dusty surface of Mars, running to him. “Rex! They let me come! They let me see you!”

“Mandy! It’s not safe here. You’re mortal!”

“Breathe,” she said as she stopped before him. “They put air here for me. They made it warm.” She threw herself into his arms. The chains had enough play for him to embrace her. She felt so wonderful, so warm. “Oh, Rex, I’ve missed you so much. Talk to them; make peace; end this. Then, come home to us!”

Rex touched her mind, then. It was all there, every memory, every moment. He gently brushed her red hair back from where it was matted to her tear-stained cheek. He smiled fondly at her. He kissed the warm and soft lips of his most passionate lover. There was a moment of absolute serenity in his heart. Then it was gone. He swiftly wrapped the chain attached to his left arm around the pale slender neck and began to strangle the tiny figure in his arms.

“Rex!” she gasped. “Why? My love!”

“Show yourself!” he hissed, tightening the chain. The red hair faded into a honey blonde. The short, busty body became slender and all-too perfect. “Aphrodite,” Rex said with great disdain. “Whore of Olympus.” The goddess was in abject fear. Her very existence was in genuine danger. She knew what Rex was, and she knew that she could not break free of either his grasp or the magical chain around her neck. Rex felt an old familiar charge pass through his being. He always got an adrenaline rush when he terrified someone. But now he was terrifying someone whom he utterly despised with every fiber of his being. “HOW FUCKING DARE YOU TAKE HER FORM?” he roared, reveling in the tremors it sent through his captive’s body.

Then, his own body took over. He punched the air with all his considerable might, attempting to snap the chain around his right wrist so that he could then strike the goddess with that hand. The chain did not break. The mountain did. An avalanche of rubble cascaded down upon the two of them. They disappeared in a storm of volcanic basalt and Martian dust. After having been exposed for so long, Rex liked the momentary feeling of envelopment, but Aphrodite wished the crumbled bits of the mountain away. Cleared of the rubble, Rex found himself kneeling over the goddess in a dune of sand and dust. There was still terror in her eyes, and there was still a chain wrapped around her neck.

Aphrodite knew that Rex could have already crushed her neck, could have torn her head off completely if he wished. The chain was slackened, but it was still there. He hadn’t killed her, but he still could. “I was trying to make peace!” she cried, genuine tears streaking down her dirty face. “I was wrong to do it this way! Forgive me!”

Rex was in no mood to forgive an Olympian, especially one who had used the form of one of his loves. When would they understand that his beloved girls were off-limits in every way? And Aphrodite had stolen more than Mandy’s physical form. She had somehow violated Mandy’s mind and used her memories. But her illusion was far from perfect. Leave it to an Olympian to think that someone who had ever felt Mandy’s passionate love would fail to notice its absence in a kiss. Rex’s eyes narrowed in rage.

Aphrodite had only one power that might stay his dangerous fury. She unleashed the fullness of that power. But Rex’s rage did not wash away; it mixed with the maddening lust and desire that Aphrodite had just sent through every molecule of his being. Aphrodite felt its rebound. Never had she unleashed such a potent dose of her power, and never had she unleashed it into so enraged a god. She felt it pour back into her, this mix of lust and anger. She dug her nails into Rex’s chest and raked across it as she reached her neck up to try and get her hungry lips to his mouth.

Rex felt the fire of the goddess’s nails tearing into his flesh and used the chain to spin her away from him before she could get her gorgeous, full lips to his mouth. He held her neck up with the chain in his left hand, and tore her gown from her body with his right. The right hand then found its way beneath her chest and began to maul the goddess’s perfect tits. He drove into her sex from behind. Never, ever in all his exploits did he ever ravage a female form like he would Aphrodite’s. The force of his thrusts was so great that they would have killed any woman, any beast, on Earth.

And Aphrodite, the goddess of desire, had never known the sweet agony of being taken so brutally. Hephaestus, so powerful and rough, had never even approached her upper threshold for pain and pleasure. She believed that Rex might kill her in this fashion, but her fear gave way to the raw thrill of the sensation. She had long craved to be dominated, but had really only been able to mimic it by submission. Even powerful gods who had the strength to break her body were so taken by her beauty and femininity that they were always careful never to truly risk damaging her perfection. But Rex held her in contempt. Her physical perfection merely annoyed him and added to his angry lust. She was being raped by a being who did not care if he damaged her or not.

She felt so helpless that she hoped it would never end.

Rex began to use the chain to sporadically put near lethal pressure on her throat, watching her clutch her neck in vain as he hammered his cock into her blessed cunt. There was no experience he could compare to it. He had been brutal to Madison, listening to her sobs and not caring about her pain. But he did not injure the girl, and he would not have. Now, he didn’t care what happened to the bitch goddess who had dared to violate and impersonate his beloved Mandy, who had plotted to make him think Amber was dead, who used his loves like playthings. This was fury unchecked, mixed with the goddess’s own powers of lust and desire. He felt her channel squeeze his cock. Each stroke was greeted with the illusion of a virgin’s first penetration. Each cry she made sounded like a girl losing her hymen to a cruel lover. And with each stroke he felt copious warm juices running the length of his shaft. Aphrodite was the fuck beyond all fucks, a magical being whose body created the perfect sensation, emitted the perfect sound, at every second. He hated her for that, too.

She could feel that he was too deep inside her now. She knew he hadn’t done that on purpose. His rage was causing him to grow in size, to achieve a form few left in the universe could take. But he was nearly splitting her with the sheer hugeness he had attained. And he was driving it into her with a frenzy that created not a slapping sound but a low boom like boxcars coupling. And oh, how that deep rumbling vibration stimulated her sacred clit. She repeatedly climaxed and screamed in delicious agony. He was the most dangerous creature whom she had ever encountered, and he was fucking her to death. This was the moment for which she had been created. She had sprung into being from the semen spilled into the sea when Cronus castrated Oranos. Her perfect feminine beauty existed to bring forth male lust. Until this moment, she had never been able to bring forth a lust so powerful that her beauty could not overwhelm it in some fashion. Males had always been her willing servants in the end.

“You’ve got a sweet little cunt,” Rex growled at her. There was a compliment in there, Aphrodite knew that. Had her charms finally risen to the challenge? “Let’s see how your ass feels!”

“No, I am not to be defiled in such a—“ Aphrodite’s scream cut off the end of her sentence. No being had ever taken her in that fashion. She would not permit it. But now, the raging god jammed his cock into her bottom. She had been frightened and thrilled before. Now, she was frightened and humiliated. All hope of her ever controlling him was gone. And it hurt! By any measure of pain, this was agony. She was being brutally taken. And she was beginning to accept it. The fear would always haunt her memory; the humiliation would last forever; but her thrill was returning, and that only made the fear and humiliation all the worse. The vibrations from the coupling continued to stimulate her. She climaxed again. She wailed in agony, ecstasy and utter defeat. He had done worse than kill her with desire. He had broken her with it. “Fuck me, my lord! Fuck me to death!” she screamed.

She was screaming for it now, and it made Rex hate her all the more. She was so disgusting. She had tried to manipulate him with desire, but in the end she couldn’t even handle her own power when it was channeled back into her. “Fucking filthy whore!” he screamed. “Fucking filthy little ass whore!” He hated her, but he couldn’t have stopped fucking her if he’d wanted to. He’d run her own magic right back into her, but there was so much of it, that it wasn’t leaving him, either. It cycled between them. He’d vowed to never use sex to humiliate another girl or woman. But this was neither of those. This was a bitch goddess who had defiled the image of his beloved. Rex guessed that deserved an exception. “Beg me to cum in your face!” he snapped.

“Please, Lord Rex, cum in my face!”

“You really want that?”

“Yes, please, Lord Rex.”

“No.”

Aphrodite wept. He would not even grant her the shame he had made her crave. She was his plaything. She was being thrown around like a rag doll by his pounding, and even her greatest pushes of pleasure did not make him climax. He was somehow marshaling it, keeping it in check. For hours, he pounded into her; first one hole, then the other. Then, he jammed his cock down her throat. When he did that, she tore her nails into his flesh again, sending little rivulets of blood down his dusty haunches. There was no end to his rage, and he kept the desire that she had introduced into the mix cycling between them. And Aphrodite knew that it could end two ways. She would die, or he would grow tired of her. If it came to that end, to her final shame, she would beg for him to resume.

Then it finally happened. Rex’s rage began to abate. It was, in the end, not Aphrodite’s dazzling beauty that saved her. It was not the perfection of her form; that meant nothing to him. It was a memory. Rex’s memory of the first time Mandy had eagerly taken him deep into her throat and then had gazed up at him, her overly generous portion of Mascara causing messy streaks to run from her watery eyes in an endearing picture of girlish imperfection. Rex looked down at Aphrodite and saw a feminine face, with tears making tracks through the coating of dust from when he had ground her face into the Martian surface. She was an absolute mess. Rex eased for a moment, and his climax escaped, nearly drowning the goddess in a flood of white fluid. She looked like a bukkake video. Rex stepped back and turned away from her.

“Forgive us, my lord,” she said when she could speak at last.

“I can’t.”

“I understand.”

“No. You don’t. You don’t have a fucking clue. But I think I can change that. Don’t attempt to block my thoughts in any way.” He walked to her and put his hand on the top of her soaking wet head. He gave her what he felt for Amber and for Mandy. Those who perceive Aphrodite as the goddess of love are sorely mistaken. She is the goddess of beauty and desire. Until Rex poured an immense dose of human emotion into her, deep, deep into her, she had no idea what love truly was.

Aphrodite wept, then. She saw it all. She understood it all. What she had been for millennia paled to what fortunate humans shared every day. “I’m sorry,” she sobbed. “I’m so, so sorry.”

Rex turned from her. He was not ready to accept her apology. But he was ready to believe it was sincere. He didn’t know what he was going to do about the others. He sure wasn’t going to fuck Hephaestus up the ass. Rex was Greek, but not quite that Greek. Besides, this would not have happened with anyone who had not been foolish enough to fill him with maddening desire at the pinnacle of his rage. He looked back at the defeated goddess. He couldn’t hate her now. He remembered the way Mandy had thought of her horrible biological parents. She did not want them punished. She just felt pity that they were such “sad, fucked-up people.” Rex didn’t want to think about the Olympians anymore. “I’m done with you,” he said, echoing his dungeon statement to Madison.

“Please, my lord. It was as wonderful as it was horrible. Please, let’s do it again sometime,” Aphrodite was on her knees, begging, and being met with nothing but a cold stare. She could not help continuing. “Please, mighty Rex, you know it. You know it was wonderful!”

“Eh,” he said with a shrug as he looked at the goddess of desire. “I’ve had better.” He yanked again, and the last portions of the mountain holding any part of his bonds fell apart, freeing him completely and burying the goddess in a second avalanche of rubble.

As he walked away and prepared to leave, he heard her voice cry from beneath the remnants of a mountainside. It was a pitiful, but hopeful sound. “So… call me maybe?”

There was plenty of activity in the T.A.R.D.I.S. that afternoon. The girls had found a badminton set in one of the storerooms. They were having a spirited game of doubles, even if it was rather one-sided. “Let’s put Monique on the team with the short busty girl,” Mandy said. “You two are killing me and the Alpha, here.” Katie opened her mouth to give a smart retort, but the only sound that came out was a high-pitched squeal.

Covered in Martian dust, and a little bit of blood, a naked god had appeared before them. The four girls rushed to him, covering him in kisses and hugs and gentle caresses. At last, Katie and Monique backed away to let the god’s closest lovers hold him. Rex looked down at the little blonde with the streaks in her hair and then he looked at the busty redhead. “Amber Stamber and my Babydoll Crush,” he said. The four middle school girls in the room wept with joy, but it was the fond god who cried the most.

+++

It was a month before Rex gave in to Amber’s requests to go to Olympus and make peace. He had alternated between thoughts of ignoring them forever or making war on them. But, in the end, Amber wore him down. She had listened to his re-telling many times, and weighed each word out in her intelligent mind. She kept coming back to one thing. Rex, once he knew everything, was going to be a boon to mankind. In the end, he could not escape her logic. “Some days, I’m really sorry I made it so you could talk,” he said, shaking his head and then kissing her brow. Hermes had said he should remember the dream that told him to find someone to stop him. He had. Mandy’s memory had stopped him from continuing his degradation of Aphrodite, and Amber’s persistence stopped him from making war on Olympus.

Katie and Monique had returned home to earth by this time, although they remained frequent visitors to the T.A.R.D.I.S. And they were needed. Since his encounter with Aphrodite, the new god’s lust was nearly insatiable, and Mandy and Amber could only be recharged so often. He was afraid to try and go find girls he did not yet care for, lest he got carried away and did them accidental injury. His fondness for the four girls held those dark urges in check. He did sometimes require all four of them to simultaneously help him calm the storm. Even when he didn’t require it, he still liked it. His invisible extensions, and all four girls’ comfort with pleasuring one another, now ensured satisfaction for all of them.

But at last, he wrestled the desires under his full control. The goddess’s supernatural lust still boiled within him, but now it would only escape by his design. As it abated, he also found that his temper with the Olympians was at last under his control as well. He was ready to take Amber’s advice and return to Olympus and make peace.

Rex walked to the door of the T.A.R.D.I.S. and looked down at Saturn, gathering his thoughts for the fateful confrontation with Zeus and the others. His two closest lovers slid in beside him, each sliding an arm around his back and joining the hands that rested on his heart. “I always feel so strong here, in this place, with the two of you.”

“I love you, Doc,” Amber said.

“Amber, my Alpha… I love you, too.”

“I grew up in a family that didn’t work,” Mandy said. “Then you put me into Melvin and Sarah’s family and fixed it so that that one worked. I finally felt whole. Rex, go fix this family.”

Rex smiled down at the redhead. “Mandy Evans… the girl who waited. I don’t know if I can.”

“You have enough love inside you to make it happen, Rex. And you make families work. It’s what you do.” Her incredible warmth passed through his skin and touched his heart.

“You’d better go, Doc. Before we lose our way and start attacking you… again.”

“Yeah,” he said with a heavy sigh. “It’s about time, isn’t it?”

Rex appeared on Olympus. Zeus, Poseidon and Hades were holding private counsel in the throne room. “Welcome, brother,” Zeus said upon seeing him. He began to move toward Rex and opened his arms as if to embrace him.

“I am not one of you,” Rex said, holding out his hand to keep the king of the gods at a distance. “But I would have peace with you.”

“I don’t call you ‘brother’ as a member of the pantheon,” Zeus said with a smile, but stopped moving toward Rex. “I was being literal.”

“My parents were Hector and Helen Timon. I don’t think they were yours.”

“They raised you, but even without our telling you, you know there is more to the situation,” Poseidon said, setting his trident aside and taking a few cautious steps toward the god who had once jammed one of Artemis’ arrows in his rump.

“I have to admit I’ve been a little afraid that one of you is my father.”

“No,” Poseidon said, looking to the others for permission to proceed. They nodded. “Rex, we share a father, and a mother.”

Rex was the son of Cronus and Rhea! That made no sense to him. But then again, it truly did. Still, he did not want to admit it. “But I was human for twenty-nine years!”

“You were a time bomb,” the sea god continued. “Our father, Cronus, had suspicions you would destroy us. Our mother, Rhea, is expert at playing both ends against the middle. He sired you from her in secret, and then they hid you in the one place we couldn’t search for you.”

“Time,” Hades said, wasting not a syllable. Rex had to admit he did almost like the Lord of the Dead.

Zeus waved his hand, and a timeline of Olympian history appeared in the air. Rex couldn’t help thinking it was kind of cool, like the 3-D holographic model of the Death Star. “Cronus hid you in the late Twentieth Century. He also planted agents there to find you when you reached the age of fifteen,” Zeus explained. “He believed that would be when you would be the right age to be vulnerable to their influence. Unfortunately, for them, Hades got to them before they got to you.” Hades’ eyes reflected that he had a very clear and rather fond memory of dispatching those evil men to their fates.

“They would have set a horny adolescent loose with the greatest power in the universe. Father knew ill-considered time travel would destroy the civilization we have been guiding for millennia,” Poseidon said, getting upset and moving away from the group. He took a deep breath and gathered his thoughts. “It takes great care and effort to travel in time without doing damage. Only Father truly knew how to do it, but he lacked the compassion for humanity to much care whether he left destruction in his wake or not.” Poseidon then looked down in shame. “I used to be the same way in how I handled my affairs. The things I created on a whim….” He shifted his gaze back to Rex. “You have that same knowledge of how to travel in time inside you. If you are thoughtful, you will come to see all the possibilities and permutations as easily as we can read the words printed on a page.”

“And now,” Zeus said, beaming with a brother’s pride, “you have proven that you have the compassion—the humanity instilled in you by Hector and Helen Timon—to use your gift as you see fit.”

“So, you did all this to test me, because I could have destroyed the world?”

“Yes, brother,” Poseidon said with hope in his eyes. “That’s why we tested you. We don’t always understand humans, but we wish them no real harm. In fact, we wish that they could find a way to use their gifts for their own betterment.”

Rex, despite all that they had done to him, believed Poseidon. He had never had siblings, and always regretted that. Perhaps that motivated him to accept the explanation. Perhaps it was simply that his instincts told him that it was the only way to make sense out of everything. But there were still questions. “What would you have done if I had failed the tests?”

Poseidon and Zeus looked uncomfortable and avoided his gaze. Hades looked Rex squarely in the eye and answered the damned question. “Killed you while we still could.”

“You’re my favorite brother,” Rex said to Hades.

Hades nodded. “Mutual,” he said and then, to Rex’s great surprise, laughed and punched the shocked Poseidon in the shoulder, knocking him into Zeus. “The look on your faces!” he cried.

“Yes, he laughs,” Zeus said, rolling his eyes. “But only in front of the other gods. Everyone else he figures he has to intimidate all the time.”

“How did you know all this shit about me, about Cronus’s plan?” Rex asked.

“Well, like I said, Mom likes to play both ends against the middle. She waits until the last possible moment to pick a side. Our mother, Rhea, believes that you are the right horse to back. She ratted out our father’s agents and Hades dispatched them. We love our mother, Rex, and you will, too. But watch your back. You think we’re slippery….” All three of Rex’s brother’s shook their heads. Apparently Mom was going to be a treat. “Then, we decided to wait until you were old enough to be fully-cooked as a human and brought you in with a group of demi’s so that you didn’t realize quite how powerful you were.”

“The other three are demigods?” Rex asked.

“They don’t know it yet, but yes. We don’t just pick random humans and give them godlike powers,” Zeus said. Then, he took a deep breath as he once again had to admit something that embarrassed him. “We Olympians are awful parents. Look at what we came out of. Too, too many royal families are like that. But, we also can’t connect with the human part of our kids as well as we should. So, we place them in foster care.”

“I used to do the same thing!” Rex cried.

“No shit, Captain Obvious!” Hades said.

“Everything in my life seems to have this hidden reason behind it,” Rex said thoughtfully. “Is there a reason why I’m so attracted to young teenage girls?”

“Well, yes,” Zeus said in a somber tone. “Because they’re hot as fuck!” Rex groaned at the attempt at humor. “Seriously, brother, I got nothing for you on that. Some people are just attracted to them. It’s not usually a good thing for a grown person to act on… but the rules are different when you can monkey with the fallout. Not that we were very careful about how we did it when we first started out, but we’re trying to learn.”

“The other godlings,” Rex said, steering the topic back. “Whose?”

“Guess,” Hades said.

“Well, Mr. Monosyllable—silent Calliope is yours.” The god nodded in response. “Penelope goes to battle every day, but she got carried away and violent. Ares?”

“Nope,” Zeus said. “Athena. Athena favored soldiers because she herself has a fighter’s spirit. She clobbered me a good one once. Penelope’s human father was a Congressional Medal of Honor recipient, posthumously, unfortunately. She was raised, as the others were, by someone other than her actual parents. That lack of control that Penelope displayed with the little girl comes completely from human nature. We admit humans do some things better than us, but some of them are still deeply flawed.”

“Yep. I know what you mean,” Rex said. His life as a social worker had led him to encounters with many, many fucked-up humans. “I still really liked Penny, though.”

“She’s a hell of a human!” Poseidon cried. “She was just a lousy goddess. We’re still trying to figure a way to get her into the family, though. Now, who do you suppose is responsible for Jason?”

“Jason is a horny little fuck. I’m guessing he’s yours, Zeus.”

“Apple don’t fall far from the tree, little brother.” Zeus had moved to the table. He offered Rex a nectar. “We at peace, brother?”

Rex took the drink. “We’re at peace, brothers.” The quartet touched glasses and sipped the nectar. “But families are tough. They take a lot of work. Still… they’re worth it in the end.”

“Good,” Zeus said. “Now, it’s time you talked to your sisters.” There was much rejoicing that day on Olympus, and Rex discovered that in big families, everyone tends to talk over one another, but they listen in their own fashion as well. Hera, Hestia and Demeter were lovely big sisters, even if they did fuss over him a little too much. In the end, all the Olympians joined them, except one. Rex’s nephew, the messenger god, was too deep in shame to show his face. In the end, the peace with his old friend would be the most difficult for the new god to make, and they both knew it.

Mandy Evans looked around the busy kitchen and quietly sipped her coffee. The sprawling ground floor of the house Rex had built for his mortal loved ones sat on a peaceful street in a Chicago suburb. The upstairs, however, was on Saturn. Mandy mused that Gods built homes that would definitely be hard to move on the real estate market. Still, she knew her love always felt good when he spent time on the planet named after his father.

He and his dad didn’t exactly get on. Rex shared that with Mandy, as he did everything. He still sheltered the other girls from some realities, but Mandy knew how dark the world could be. Cronus had made no secret during Rex’s last visit to him in Tartarus that Rex had proven a horrible disappointment. Still, Mandy urged Rex to keep visiting him. She might have been the only one who held out hope for the old man, but she reminded Rex that he had time. Lots and lots of time.

Then, Mandy’s heart skipped a beat as Rex descended the stairs. Her heart still skipped a beat every time he entered the room. That had started six years ago, when he was just her handsome case worker, and it had never stopped. She watched as her beloved god surveyed the collection of beauties in the room.

A gorgeous black girl and a short-haired blonde kissed him on the cheek, and he whisked them away to class. Katie and Monique were sophomores at Northwestern now. They liked it so much that they had decided that they were moving to campus next semester. They still loved Rex as much as ever, but they were moving on with their lives. They had found two wonderful young men who were open to the girls’ desire for four-way romantic interludes. Mandy liked the boys, even though they seemed to spend the majority of their time with stupid grins on their faces. They had it good, and they knew it.

Mandy had tried a few human boyfriends. Rex had made sure from the beginning that all the girls could still enjoy human sex and love. It was typical of his unselfish behavior. He would risk losing his loves if it meant that they could find happiness and fulfillment. Mandy’s human loves had followed the normal path of teenagers and young adults in love. It was passionate; it was eternal; then it was over. Maybe someday… but she doubted it. Rex was in her blood too deeply now. And she wanted him to be even deeper in her blood.

They would have all lived their lives around him, like the more than 60 moons that orbited Saturn. But Rex wanted them to have more. So, all but Amber had taken human lovers at times. Amber was simply not truly attracted to anyone outside the inner circle. The only human hands to have ever touched her intimately were those of the other girls. Hands that, in a way, belonged to Rex.

Amber was commuting from suburban Chicago to Oxford every day. Having a god for a lover could be pretty awesome at times. Mandy was… well, Mandy was another story. She sat drinking her coffee and looking at Rex, desperately wanting to ask him something. He knew what it was. He couldn’t not know. But Amber had promised to help Mandy with this talk, and she wasn’t back from England yet. Soon she would be, though; morning here was afternoon there.

“Rex!” Mandy heard a voice with a thick New Jersey accent cry. “He’s kicking! Come here!” Rex rushed to a very pregnant dark-haired woman and pressed his hand to her swollen belly. He felt his first child kick at his touch. He grinned at the child’s pretty mother. “I still can’t believe you talked me into it!” Penelope said, shaking her head.

“Penny, you’ll make a great mother!”

“Not that! I can’t believe you talked me into creating him the natural way!” Penelope screwed up her face as if she was talking about something revolting.

“And?”

“I liked it,” She admitted with a blush. “I liked it a lot. But I have to admit my new girl gives me a little more of a thrill! And she likes to let me play rough. I’m seeing her later today.”

“Well, tell Madame Oksana I said ‘Hi, Livvie.’ And if you two decide to get really serious and move in together… we have the room.” This was already a busy place, but Rex felt like it was a “the more the merrier” type of situation. Mandy felt the same way. There was enough space here for solitude for those that wished it.

Mandy smiled sadly to see joy the two shared. Rex was going to enjoy raising the child with Penelope. Mandy had, in fact, offered him the suggestion that he impregnate Penny. They had managed to find a way to get Penelope into the family, and Rex’s siblings had been very happy to hear it. Demeter and Hera were constantly trying to force baby names on them. Hestia, on the other hand had been spending most of her time designing the nursery. She pointed out to Rex that it could hold ten babies at a time. Rex explained that he planned on keeping it down to a few kids at a time so that he had actually could pay attention to them. Hestia had decided she was pleased with that. So was Mandy.

Rex had now noticed Mandy looking at Penelope’s swollen belly, and he began to cross to her. Unfortunately, someone materialized right between them.

“Lord Rex, what’s up?” the college-aged boy declared. He was a sexy kid. Mandy would have loved to give him a go if he hadn’t been more or less part of the family. She did not take to incest as happily as the Olympians. For them, it worked, though. And Mandy was always saying that she liked close families, so who was she to judge?

“Not much, Jason. How’s your little project going?”

“Well, she still thinks I’m fully human. So, I’m getting a pretty good snapshot of what she’s really like.”

“And what is she really like?”

“Angel on the outside, devil on the inside. That conditioning you did on her sure took. She never acts mean, but dang, she has a lot of black in her heart.”

“Madison has a heart?”

“More of one every day… but we got a long ways to go, boss.”

“Well, keep at it. If there’s kindness in her, you’ll get to it.”

“Oh, and boss,” he whispered conspiratorially, but still let Mandy hear. Jason knew she was the one human whom Rex did not shield from any secrets. “You were not lying about the way she fucks! She’s actually got a SERIOUS amount of talent. And she always makes sure I get mine. And remember, she does that thinking I’m just a human guy!”

“It’s a start,” Rex said with a sad smile. At least Jason was able to enjoy the work. Rex told Mandy that he still doubted that they could change Madison’s nature, but stranger things have happened. Mandy’s love went to bed as a social worker one night and woke up the next as a god. And to her everlasting joy, the first thing he did with that newfound power was go out and make love to her. Oh, she could still feel the thrill of that first time!

“Say, boss, any special action going on for you today?” Jason said, raising his eyebrows. All this guy ever thought about was fucking, so Mandy rather liked him. He was easy to understand.

“Actually…” Rex began to whisper conspiratorially. He looked at Mandy and then just spoke his mind aloud. “Remember when I told you about little Alex?”

“Stories about frisky eight-year-old ballerinas tend to stick with a guy.” Mandy suppressed the chill she felt when she thought about her powerful lover taking a little child. He would have been gentle, she knew that. But the only way she ever wanted to think about him making love to a girl that young involved him traveling back in time and pulling Mandy out of her second grade classroom.

“Well, I told her to give me a call on her fourteenth birthday.” This time Rex was the one to smile and raise his eyebrows.

“Well, wish her a happy birthday,” Jason said. “But I’m guessing she’s going to have one. See ya, boss. I am OUT!” He vanished. Rex looked to Mandy. She smiled and shook her head fondly. Alex was indeed going to have a wonderful fourteenth birthday. Mandy did not begrudge her that.

Rex was not yet ready to have his serious talk with Mandy. There was still one beauty sitting at the counter.

“Where’s the old man?” he asked her. She pointed skyward. “He coming soon?” She nodded. “Things still going good?” She showed him the brand new diamond ring on her finger. Rex was the speechless one for once. He hugged her and kissed her on the forehead.

“You messing with my girl, Punchy?” a merry voice called from the ether. Mandy turned to see Hermes appear, pretending he was a boxer guarding his face. As always, there was a moment of tension between the two of them. It would be there every time they met. And every time it would fade away as friendship overwhelmed it.

“She’s too good for you,” Rex said, casting a glance at the god’s fiancée.

“Fortunately, she hasn’t figured that out yet.”

“Congratulations, my friend.”

“Thanks. Gonna be Best Man?”

“I’m always the best man wherever I go. But, yes. I would be honored.” The two gods with too much history between them stared at one another and thought about hugging. They didn’t. Rex was still a Midwestern guy after all. Mandy looked to Calliope, and they shared a silent giggle.

“Okay,” Hermes began then, “here’s the itinerary. Zeus wants to go over a new transition plan to the pantheon you’re putting together when he comes back to the solar system tomorrow.”

“Fuck! You guys aren’t pulling out altogether for another hundred years, and he comes back to Olympus with a new plan every week.”

“I know, but it’s what he does. Someday, you’re gonna be the guy doing it, so cut the poor bastard some slack. He also wants a quick update on the time travel.”

“I keep telling him the same thing. Going forward and popping back would be no problem. But I still want another decade or so to make sure that I am seeing absolutely everything before I even think of going backward in time.” Mandy knew it still scared the shit out of him.

“And then?”

“Liz Taylor…right smack dab on the NATIONAL VELVET set. Think anybody would notice?”

“No, I’m pretty sure gods fucked adolescent movie starlets on camera all the time in 1944.”

“Seriously, Messenger, I don’t know yet. I’ll start small. It gets complicated fast. Doing one good thing can make a hundred other good things never happen.”

“I understand. A guy would have to be some kind of time god to figure that shit out. But never mind that. The Alpha hitched a ride back from Oxford with me. Classes are already over for the day there. Wanna see if I can still make her blush?” Hermes’ mischievous grin was still the best Mandy had ever seen. Rex said Mandy’s own was better, but she couldn’t quite believe it.

Rex hugged and kissed his Alpha as she walked into the room. She crossed to Mandy and kissed her, too. Their tongues touched briefly, and Mandy touched the green streak in Amber’s hair. She only wore the streaks at home now. She felt they were too young for her serious academic persona at school. Mandy loved Amber in every way now. She was smart, funny, loyal and kind. Oh, and she was terribly sexy. She had once told a bully that if she ever got any tits she would be dangerous. Well, nineteen-year-old Amber was getting pretty damned dangerous by that measure. And her little bottom was no less enticing than it had been before.

“Go grab a shower, Mandy,” the Alpha whispered in her best friend’s mind, using the path there that Rex had agreed to let them keep secret from him. “I’ll keep the back door open.” Mandy headed upstairs then, simultaneously seeing the world both through her eyes and Amber’s. Amber smiled at Rex, but quickly turned to the god next to him. “Oh, Lord Hermes, I am so glad you’re still here. What was the address of that little pub you told me to visit for lunch?”

“Oh, here,” the god said, producing a pen and paper. He wrote the address down, and then left the pen sitting on top of the paper on the counter.

Amber and Mandy looked at the address for a second; then Mandy saw their gaze shift to the pen with the bright gold “Roosevelt Middle School” logo on the side. Amber’s hands flew to her face in shock. Mandy knew the story of the pen Amber had given to the messenger. “You are a naughty little god!” she said, turning bright red and threatening to punch him on the shoulder. She ultimately opted for kissing him on the cheek. “I got an A+ on the paper I wrote with that, too.” She turned to Rex but didn’t miss the fact that Hermes slid the pen back into his pocket. “Lady Calliope, Lord Hermes, could you excuse us, please? Doc, I need to talk to you.” Mandy turned on the shower and prayed that Amber was successful in her efforts.

Rex took her by the hand and led her away from the others. “What’s up, my love?”

“When you gonna give Mandy what she wants?” Mandy felt the warm water cascade over her body, but it paled to the warmth she would feel if Rex gave her what she desired more than anything.

“Shouldn’t she finish college and have a career first? You, Katie and Monique all are.”

“Dammit, Doc. You were a social worker. You know kids well enough to know not all of us are interested in college. Mandy works hard in school and gets good grades, but she hates it.” Amber was right on all accounts. College was hard as hell for Mandy, but she was succeeding, because Rex thought it was important for her. “Just give her what she wants. Can you imagine anyone who would do a better job? And she’s seriously considering letting you win the whole Melody or River argument!” Actually, she would let him win it if it was the deal-breaker, but otherwise, Mandy was going to stand her ground on that point in the end.

“I just don’t want to take opportunities for a wonderful life away from her.” He was so fucking thick! Amber would straighten him out, though.

“There is no greater opportunity for a wonderful life than this, Doc! I’m sure as hell going to want to take advantage of it someday!”

“That would be a great day, Alpha!”

“So could today,” she said, winning the argument, as she usually did. She used to never question him on the big things. Now, she guided him more and more every day. Mandy had come to realize why Rex thought she was magnificent. Rex kissed Amber and held her hand, gazing into her eyes as he thought things through.

Mandy saw that he took a deep breath and realized he had reached his decision. It was happening! He and Amber walked up the stairs, halfway across a solar system and into the shower. The god carried the naked redhead out of the bathroom and down the hall into the master bedroom which had a picture window with a beautiful view of the moon named for Rex’s mother.

He didn’t speak. He didn’t push thoughts into her head. Everything they needed to know was in their lover’s eyes. Rex spent some time kissing her lips and then moved to her sex as Amber moved in and kept her lips occupied. After that, he moved himself between the legs that spread to welcome him. Mandy reached out and put her hand in Amber’s. She was so glad Rex had brought her here to share in this moment.

Both the god and the girl kissed Mandy’s lips again and then he slid into her. It was as wonderful and mystifying as the day Rex had entered her the very first time. He made gentle and tender love with the young woman who had once been the object of his most powerful Babydoll Crush. Again and again he filled her, and again and again he sent thrills through her body and her heart. Amber was there with them, too. She kissed Mandy’s hand over and over as tears of joy streamed down her cheeks. Mandy could feel Amber’s intoxicating arousal in her mind and her soul as well. This was love at its utmost.

And finally, when his wondrous shaft yet again entered the incredibly warm space beneath her patch of ginger pubic hair, the god released his seed as he had so many times before. It ran through Mandy’s channel and into her womb. This time was more magical than any time that had come before. For Mandy knew that this seed was blessed with the makings of a most special child. She would be called River Melody Timon; her mother winning the argument on the order of the names was a foregone conclusion. Young River would grow to become a goddess in a new pantheon. And Mandy, though she had no special powers, knew from the manner of her child’s conception that she would grow up to be the goddess, not of mere desire, but of truest love.
