I once wrote to you and told you of the wonderful Asian girl and woman which I married. I honor my wife and cherish her much and for many years, I have had a fear when she was from my sight. Not that she would betray me but because there are many things which can happen in the U.S. which do not seem to happen overseas and I believe I once told you I lived in Japan for about 11 years yet my wife is not Japanese. What happened to your family makes me fear for my own daughters because they are not hear with me. I had sent you and email because some things are not said in this forum. I do not know your pain but I wish you healing and your daughter and neice the best.

Cathy, John and Kathy,
You know me so I type this to you this day because I want you to know that the love which you have for one another is all that matters. You have a very special love and let that not escape and while I know what Cathy and others have done they have done to make the man we know as Sgt J their own. As one who has been told that we can love more than one I know that Kay and Cathy combined equals that which you lost so many years ago. I ask Angel Carrie to come to your heart and lead you to what is right because I am not the one or man who can tell you what you should or should not do. I only wish you the greatest happiness and you know that is true from what I have typed before. Look not at faults but live life to the fullest and this is what I want for myself as well as wish to you. Looking forward to the next chaper.

Please pass this on to Kay and John's princess Sherri, because I must add a few things about the code. I know you may find them strange because you know of me and I did not serve or come from the Army but somehow I think others have told you about me. While they may mean different things to different people I will tell you of the code which I hold true. The code is not words, the code is me just as I am the code. I do not speak them, I breath them, eat them because they are the fiber of my existence and they are as much a part of my body as my heart. We blame not others because we always feel we are to blame and it is especially so when things are or go bad. For I live and die by the code and so have greater men than me and some of them still breathe. It is who we are and I feel John and others, to include myself will not change as we age. The code is what some of us men not only believe in but it becomes us.

I very much enjoyed this chapter and now I know how the three of you became one. The love was there then and I know it is still there even though recently that has been tested. Let the love and your hearts guide you and let that love also forgive as each of you have something you do regret over the past 30 years. We cannot change yesterday, we can only accept today and we can only grow in tomorrow. Let that love be your guide for you and your family and as you know of me, that does come from a special place. Another wonderful story but it is more than a story, it is about a life that was ended but a new life that is and hopefully forever be shared between the three of you.

Your story is moving and touching and it is linked with Sgt J's own story but it was from a different perspective. You did not think there were any good men out there. I have been there as I did not think that there were any good women as they were all out to hurt me until someone special came into my life and completed me and 27 plus years we are together. I feel for your pain and that what you and Sherri endured but remember one important thing. You were survivors and it only takes one good man or woman to erase a lifetime of bad ones. This chapter brought tears to an old Airman. Go to Sherri and just hug her for you don't have to say anything else for I believe John's darling daughter knows as she was raised by him. Let actions guide you to heal what happened so many years ago. The past is gone, the present is now and the future offers infinite possibilities.

You were a woman with needs and John was unsure but he was and is a good man. While he himself had a few doubts he is like I as we came around. In listening to your story I pass no judgements but I know that you feel regrets to the mistakes which you made which affected Sgt J and Sherri but we cannot change them and I sure have made a lot of mistakes in my own life. Open your heart and your heart will show you the way and forget about the past as we cannot change it. lol. Smile you are where you should be and that is with your family and John.

There are evil men in the world and they will be there as long as the heavens make men but not all of us are evil and wish hurt and harm upon women. I enjoy your story for two reasons, first I am three years older than you and I do have my own Asian treat. While many would have it hard to believe your story as true but for a man who lived in Japan for nearly 12 years and other Asian countries your story is closer to reality than they know. I was once given a niece as a birthday present to show how much the family appreciated what I had done for them for years. I did not consider it wrong or incest as this would be considered an insult. One must understand the culture and the context in which things happen. Continue to write as I look forward to additional installments.

You truly are an inspiration and never forget that you can, do and I believe will continue to make a contribution and make the world better even if its only your own little world with your family. I shared with you much I have kept hidden away as I feel like my comments can help others as yours have helped me. If you ever do that book, encourage Sherri, Kay, Kathy and Duke to write portions of it from their view because they see things that we don't especially in our bad times but also in our good ones. The one thing that I am still curious of is why you and Cathy never tried to have children as I know why you and Kay could not. It is nice that you found your niece by marriage of course after your wife and children passed away. I must say that it is nothing wrong and you should carry it to the next level since you are not related. I know you do not want to disturb the peace of your and your former wife's family but to deny your feelings for Ash is to admit that its a mistake which according to the story is not. They want you to be happy and while they may be upset at first, I think in the end they will come to understand your connection to her as long as you don't tell them about all the sex.

For any of us who have lost friends and buddies in combat know and those who have lost families know we try to honor them with our lives. If we center certain things and even our fates on random items which seem of no importance that are the glue which hold us together especially for combat veterans.
