Wonderful story with a very believable narrator. I would have been a little brokenhearted had Diane not fallen in love with her at the end. That means I must have been completely buying into the story. Nicely done. |

As for the comparison to The New Gods, I would say that it's fair in and of itself, but this is a different kind of story. I had a space of time earlier this year when my workload at my day job was a little lighter and I was between major writing projects in other genres. In other words, I had time to put in some work and create a bigger, deeper series.
Right now, I'm working my tail off at the "day job" and taking a stab at trying to finish another novel. The first one hasn't sold yet. So for the time being, I'm going to be mostly posting lighter stories that I can crank out in a shorter time frame.
I like creating erotic fiction, and there will be times when I can really dig in and try another big series, but for now it's going to be mostly this type of lighter fare. Thanks for reading and commenting. |

I have more stories partially completed, but I tend to write in the series format, and I want to basically finish a series before I start publishing next time. Otherwise, I pressure myself too much to get things out there.

I wrote a pretty innocuous little beginner's guide about some very basic mistakes that a lot of newbies make when they post on this site. The majority of the brief essay is actually on formatting and category choices specific to the site. It's not an ego trip. As a matter of fact, I went out of the way to explain that I thought writing an actual "how to" guide at this point would be presumptuous of me. Then I tossed in some very basic tense and POV things, nothing encouraging anyone to emulate my personal style or school of thought. It was meant to be helpful, and should be used as such.
In the future, you might not want to tell people what they should or shouldn't stick to. Most of them will find it quite offensive. It's basically the same as telling them to 'shut the fuck up.' |

Sorry, last post was me. Forgot to log in.
These stories aren't novels, true. They are short stories. But if you look at any professionally published short stories, the narrative will be in past tense.
There will be some readers out there who prefer to read stories written in the present tense, and some writers who prefer to write that way. But there is going to be a far larger percentage of people out there who will stop reading the story the minute they realize it's in present tense. Some might not even know why they stop. They just think it sounds weird.
I won't neg a story for being in present tense. I just won't read it if it is. To anyone with any writing training at all--it's like nails on a chalkboard. Original purpose of the essay was to offer suggestions for better ratings and more reads. I stand by the assertion that writing in proper tense gets you those overall. There will be exceptions, but they are in the vast minority. |

I honestly don't mind that some people don't like the story. It has some controversial subject matter due to the religious aspects, and what happens to Esther in the beginning is pretty awful.
The frustrating thing is that getting hammered like this early pushes the story off the' front page' before many people have read it. I'm sure it's happened to lots of writers on here. Overall, the readers and the 'raters' have been very generous with me.
The final installment of the trilogy will be out fairly soon. |

There are still some things that I wish I could go back and tighten up a little now, but that's the hazard of writing a long story as a serial instead of finishing all the chapters first.

I just finished the first draft of the final installment. I need a little time to step away from it before proofing/editing it. Still, I am hoping that it will go up sometime tomorrow night.
There will be more story than sex, but there is definitely still sex in the final chapter. The coda is way longer than I expected it to be, but there are a lot of characters in this damned thing, and I decided to try and give some closure to the stories of most of them.

As for spin-offs and continuations--I think I will get to some at some point. I am just finishing a period where I have been cranking out a lot in this universe and need a break from it. But, I would like to explore some of the other characters and add some new ones. Just not right now. I want to spend some time reading some of the other authors on here.
I'm just really happy that there are others who are enjoying the series. Hearing others tell me they're having a good time with it is a pretty cool experience. |

I am noticing from comments and PM's that there are some people out there who have a very good sense of story. Almost every suggestion/prediction I see is something I at least thought of when thinking up the story. I'm glad I plotted this one out beforehand, or I could easily get sidetracked by other people's good ideas!
I'm getting some requests here and there, and some are pretty damned creative, but I'm going to stick to the original story I have laid out. It still looks like #6 is going to be the final installment. I could see it turning into 7 if #6 looks overcrowded, but I think it will all fit into the installment I'm on right now and one more. |

Um, Amber's comment was genuinely and solely about Rex. It was simply the most obvious thing for the girls to question him on--especially since we had already seen Mandy do so. The purpose of the entire quote was to show how starry-eyed Amber is about Rex. So, no, not consciously or subconsciously implying that as writer I'm a god. Although, in certain ways (creator, controller) all writers kind of are gods of their little universes. But only over their universe and not over the reader. Thanks for reading and commenting, though. It's more fun when there are people out there who are thinking it through.
I am at work on the next installment, but have that whole pesky, job, family, life thing going on. I won't give a promised date of arrival. I'll try to get it done by the END of next weekend, but might get it done earlier than that. |

I have the rest of the story in my head, and I'm not really thinking of adding to that. I just need to get it written out to decide whether it breaks down best as five episodes or six. |

Your info up top says that you're only 20. If so, you've really got nice control of your characters for someone that young. Your narrator has a very believable inner life and voice. Even though she's not the point-of-view character, and the third person narrative doesn't allow us into Amy's inner monologue, she feels as if she has one as well.
Characters are stubborn and sticky people and will make sure they let the audience know if you have their actions violate their nature. You tell their story well, and they come to life nicely for you. Good show, mate. Good show. (See, I'm American, so when I try to act British I sound ridiculous. You wouldn't have made that mistake!)
I see a future for writing that extends well beyond internet sex stories. But they are fun to write, aren't they? |

The reason I don't have a traditional villain is because this story is about Rex's internal struggles, not struggles imposed upon him by outside forces. You have the beginnings of an awesome story of your own there, though. Write it, but don't use my characters, please. I'm not done with them yet.
I am a little moved that people have had such strong reactions to a story that is just being written for fun in some of my free time. It actually inspires me to get back to work on some of my projects in more mainstream genres.
To those looking at Rex and finding him less than completely noble...that's kind of the point. He was a good man before. Can he become a good god? Does absolute power corrupt absolutely? Which wins out? The gentle side of his nature or the dark side of his nature? Or do they need to co-exist?

I know I'm pushing the edge on that point, but in the end, it is my story, and the references amuse me. Seriously, though, the Olympian's powers are ALMOST limitless. Time is one of the forces of nature to which they are subject. Rex's fascination with a time traveler is a reminder of that. Some of the references are there to set up things in the later stories in the series.

Thank you to the anonymous poster who said I was wasting my talent. I think I know the spirit in which that was meant. I am, in fact, trying to find a literary agent for some of my 'straight' work. Writing porn is a way for me to take characters and go places with them that I can't go in the genres in which I normally write. Besides, this is just 'naughty fun,' and it relaxes me and hopefully entertains some others along the way.
DWKNIGHT--Right now, I just have little escapades in my head for the other godlings. If I come up with some narrative pop and character D, I might spin off some in this universe. |

The One, I know the rest of the story as far as big things go. I'm just deciding whether one of the parts is going to be two installments or one. It will be at least four total, but if I split the one it will be five. I'm almost held up by the number of possibilities for a character with this kind of power, but I don't want it to become a very long series of episodes.
I still think, like I said in my comments on the first story, that the series will provide something for everyone to hate at some point. It's a story about going through phases, so some phases will be darker and some more romantic. Also, I think the readers can sense the almost infinite possibilities with this conceit, and there is no way I will hit everyone's expectations. |

I realize some readers just want a simple mind control fuck story, but that's not what I'm writing here. If I did write the simple "man uses powers to fuck his way through a junior high school" story, others wouldn't like it. I write about 90% romance stories...maybe even more than 90% of them are romances of a kind.
As the story progresses, Rex will tap more and more into his dark side, but he will always struggle with it due to his gentle nature. So, in other words, I'm probably creating a series that will ultimately manage to piss everyone off in some way or another! Can't help it. I write the story that's in my head.

Funny, you should say that. If I write anything else in this universe, it will probably be a Mrs. Harrigan story. Actually, I do have another teenage girl story that I thought about converting into a Heidi or Meaghan story as well, but I don't know if I'm going to do that.
Anyway, I haven't written much by way of older female/younger male stories, and I think Mrs. Harrigan is a very logical choice to go that way. Possibly even doing it as a revenge story. Maybe Mrs. H should start cutting a swath through the boyfriends of the college girls her husband likes so much. I've never really written a revenge tale at all. Okay, first... I never had sex with any of these girls. Jackson and the girls are not based on real people. As for the use of the word, "invisible," there are many girls whose peers tend to overlook them. Many of these girls are pretty; they just don't have flashy looks or high social status and are often ignored. Very common in middle school. Jackson sees their appeal in a way the other guys don't. |

Thanks to those who liked it. It will take me a while, but I'm working on a Whitney story as a companion to this piece. It will cover a different view of some of the same time period and then extend beyond it several years.
I was pretty sure I'd draw some downvotes and negative comments like the first comment, because the story does tease an older male/young girl sex story. I tried to head that off with the intro, but I think some people don't like to read the intros.
Or maybe the reader just didn't find the story compelling; that's fair, too.
