I see there's been some arguing about my conclusion that the ratings on my stories were sabotaged. Well.. Let's take just one of them. ''CAMPING WITH MOM'' has a total of over 2800 votes cast. It would take well over two hundred negative votes to bring that story's rating down by over ten points. Now add in all my other stories and the total of pos and neg votes cast on them. It would be a conservative guess to say that it'd take another thousand votes to bring all those stories down by ten points. For all of them to have their ratings dropped by ten points in only one week had to have been intentional. If it was a Mod., I'm pretty sure I know which one it was. The only other possible explanation is that someone hacked into the site's control system.. but it seems they'd have had to have a reason to single out my stories. hey've pulled none of my stories so I've posted a new one. DARLA GETS DID BY HER DOG. It's a TEST. Let's see if they pass it.
One of the better authors had to write to them several times to get his stories pulled. They were taking them down four or five at a time.. stalling him.. but he kept at them and they lost dozens of excellent stories for being nitwit censors (I believe that I misspelled that in my earlier post) who think they're going to dictate to independent thinkers AND GET AWAY WITH IT. I've fought with and against small minded people all my life and I know when I have something of value as a bargaining chip. I've had the satisfaction of seeing two companies go belly up because they lost me. They were too stupid to realize that I was their key man. This site has lost several of their 'key writers' already and I happen to be in touch with several more who are also ready to tell them where to shove it if they cross them. When the site posted their new rules, I got a notice from them telling me that they were going to take down two of my earlier stories.''CARLA'' & ''YOUNG, TIGHT and TENDER''. When they did that, I wrote back telling them to take them ALL down because I wasn't going to support a site that censures anyone's erotica work. There's plenty on this site that doesn't appeal to me but I don't tell YOU that you can't read it or demand that the site censure it so that you can't. The site has lost a bunch of good writers because of what they did. They also own at least one other site and have been spiking this one with stories from there to make this one look successful. We aren't nearly as dumb as they seem to think we are.We saw the sudden surge in new unheard of authors and more stories in a day than the site used to get in a week.

Now THAT was a STORY.... a sweet and enjoyable one. I liked the referrece to "True Love Ways", written by Buddy Holly, too. The sex was there but there was real love, too, and, holy of holies, no reflective thoughts of molesting her beautiful young daughters. I was so captivated by the simple love and sweetness of the story that I was actually dreading that that's where the story was going to go. I noted the observations of READER 2008-09-10 05:25:29, as well, but I had no trouble following what you were saying. I saw it as the workings of a complex mind and I respected it. .... made it more interesting, for me.
Superb story... I guess some readers didn't get the part about him crying, as he drove back into Columbus..... feeling the the terrible sense of loss for someone that he truly loved... combined with the heartbreak of knowing that he'd never see her again. Bittersweet memories..... |

A lot of people didn't like that the parents died but that's just the way I wrote it because, sad as it is, things like that really happen. It also made the story more rememberable.
As for the adult kids, they weren't married, like in a Church. It was a spiritual marriage between two people, which is much stronger than a piece of paper.
I'm working on a much longer story, right now. I may have to post it in two segments. It'll be a while.....

Sometimes starting at the end is a good way to begin. This was one of them.
I see that you have a strong touch of honor, too. Having and including it in your stories adds depth to the characters.

hmmmmm never thought of the names being so close sounding. I'll keep it in mind, in the future. When I was writing it, I was mentally living in the story so the names were clear and individually separate to me. |

The nature of the story made it a 'one shot' one, for me, and I don't see a sequel as having the intensity of the original so I'll let its beauty and love stand, as is. *SSB

Good story line but a lot of misspelled words and obviously no proof reading, before submission. If you're going to write and subject your work to criticism or compliments, don't let spelling or poor grammar be the things being criticized. Those two things detract from the reader's enjoyment of a good story. |
